Read the fields independently. “Limited Participation in Practice” describes participation in practice; “Questionable” is a game-status designation. Neither field alone establishes the final active or inactive result. For example, do not treat a limited practice entry as confirmation that a running back is questionable, or treat a game designation as proof of a particular workload.
Use a depth chart to understand role, not availability
A depth chart can help show how a publisher presents a back’s position in the team’s running-back group. It is not the official source for injury status. Check who published the chart, what its ordering means, and when it was last updated.

RotoWire’s 2026 all-team depth charts state that they update in real time for changes including NFL inactives, and display a “last updated” date. The page was marked updated October 3, 2026 in the reviewed snapshot. That is the publisher’s description of its update behavior, not an independent audit of accuracy or a guarantee about how quickly every change appears.
ESPN: distinguish fantasy value from team order
ESPN’s 2026 Fantasy Football NFL Team Depth Charts PDF is a fantasy chart, updated September 8, 2026, with stated league and scoring assumptions. ESPN cautions: “These depth charts reflect fantasy value, which may not necessarily match players’ slot on NFL team’s depth chart.” Use its rankings for the fantasy context it describes, not as confirmation of a team’s official role or a player’s availability.

Other fantasy pages: verify the page’s scope and freshness
CBS Sports’ fantasy depth chart provides position navigation and links to news and injury-report pages, but a specific update cadence was not established. Treat it as another source to compare, not as a dated official status report. A Yahoo search result pointed to player changes, injuries, and depth-chart links, but its current layout and freshness could not be confirmed; do not rely on that result alone.
Compare sources without mixing up their labels
If two pages appear to disagree, first identify what each one is measuring rather than averaging their labels. A league injury report, a team-role chart, and a fantasy ranking answer different questions.
