Follow the dependencies as well as the room names: several spaces open only after you bring them an item from another room. Use the Eyepiece when a step calls for it; it reveals details that are otherwise easy to miss.

Foyer and exterior: coins, a crank and Fire Steel
There are several distinct reveals in this sequence. Check each one for its specific item rather than assuming the first opened space is the only secret.
Mysterious box
Rotate and solve the ring puzzle on the mysterious box. Its concealed compartment contains a Brass Mechanical Coin.

Deer statue outside
Turn the deer statue until the triangles face one another. This opens another reveal containing a Brass Mechanical Coin.
Nested desk drawers
Later, use the medallion and gears to expose a drawer. Continue examining that drawer for a smaller concealed drawer, which contains a crank handle.
Final desk drawer
Once the final desk drawer is accessible, place the small ball from the opening Foyer sequence into the groove along the drawer’s side. The hidden compartment opens to reveal Fire Steel.

The Study’s concealed storage is tied to progress toward unlocking the Curiosity Room and completing the Study. The train sequence is a separate set of mechanisms, with more than one reveal.

Lower drawer
As you work through the Study’s room puzzles, inspect inside the lower drawer for a hidden drawer. It is part of the progression that unlocks the Curiosity Room; it is not the train’s compartment.
Model train
Align the model train parts, then use the Eyepiece to inspect the train mechanisms. The sequence yields a small stud and opens sections around the train. Continue through the later train steps to reveal a Winding Key. Operating the train opens an upper section of the desk containing a lore book and a model chimney.
Kitchen: water, furnace and artifact mechanisms
Kitchen reveals depend on the water route and furnace progress. Some are hidden storage; others are puzzle mechanisms that open to expose an item.

Water route
Route the water into the grate. Once the flow reaches it, retrieve the bottle from the bottom.

Furnace
Progress through the furnace puzzle to reveal a Small Wheel.
Ball-and-handles mechanism
Later in the Kitchen, work through the concealed artifact sequence involving a ball held by a mechanism and two handles. Opening the mechanism reveals a strange artifact.
Curiosity Room: globe and exhibition reveals
Work through the map and globe puzzles in sequence. The globe opens to reveal another puzzle; solving the exhibition puzzles yields items used elsewhere, including a mask and a gemstone. These are puzzle-gated reveals, not necessarily standalone drawers or storage compartments, so inspect each opened puzzle area and track its items for later room steps.

Japanese Room: search behind the layered shelves
The Japanese Room has several mechanisms layered into shelves and the pagoda. Do not stop at tapping visible objects: move panels, inspect what they uncover, and return when you have items from other rooms.

Moving shelf panels
- Slide the left panel to the right.
- Move the hidden knob to the right.
- Slide both panels to the left.
This panel order reveals a Carved Brass Sphere. Continue with the cogwheel action to expose another mechanism.
Capsule and later mechanism steps
Place the Ornated Wooden Capsule into the shelves. This yields an unfinished wooden sculpture and exposes another part of the mechanism. Further progress through the layered mechanism uncovers the Harpoon.
Lower shelf and top-right panel
Solve the parchment fan puzzle to open a hidden lower shelf containing a blunt knife. Also inspect the top-right shelf panel: it conceals a clam.
Maritime Room: retrieve the bell cog before opening the locker
The metal box depends on an item from outside the Maritime Room. After obtaining and loading the Harpoon, use it to shoot down the exterior bell. Inspect the bell to get a cog with a handle, then use that cog on the metal box. Solve the box’s side and top mechanisms to open its front locker, which contains a flint cable and a strange artifact.

Garden: statue compartment and water valve
Place the Small Stone Carving on the forehead of the statue at the back of the Garden. This opens a literal hidden compartment containing a small mannequin and the valve used to redirect water. The remaining pillar and fountain puzzles use the Eyepiece to reveal and match symbols.
Art Studio and linked item reveals
Open the lower-left cabinet drawer in the Art Studio to find an Intricately Decorated Egg. The egg is part of a linked item chain: placements across rooms lead to the Small Stone Carving required by the Garden statue. When a reveal appears to be missing, check whether another room has produced an item the mechanism needs rather than repeatedly searching the same drawer.
What to do if a compartment or mechanism will not open
- Use the in-game hints when you are unsure how to continue; Fireproof recommends them for players who feel stuck.
- If the game appears to be malfunctioning, Fireproof’s support guidance suggests restarting the device or reloading the save for certain issues. See Fireproof Games support.
- For a persistent progression issue, pause and tap the words “Game Paused” five times to open the recovery points. Choose the most recently opened room as appropriate. Returning to an earlier room can mean replaying some progress.
- If you have reached the Attic and are wondering whether you missed the beginning, Fireproof notes that the Attic is near the end of the game.
The room names and item sequence here follow the community walkthrough; Fireproof’s official hints and support are the best next step if your game state does not match a described trigger.
Platforms and control differences
The game is listed for PC on Steam, iPhone and iPad on Apple’s App Store, and Nintendo Switch. Store availability and controls can vary by region. Nintendo’s UK listing identifies its Switch edition as download software, gives a release date of 24 September 2026, and lists touch-screen and Joy-Con motion controls; those details apply to that UK listing.
