To start Spotify Music Quiz, play a song by an artist with an available quiz, open the Now Playing screen, scroll down to the Music Quiz card, and tap it. The feature is rolling out gradually, so the card may not appear for every eligible listener or artist yet.
Where is Spotify Music Quiz?
The quiz is inside the Now Playing view in the Spotify mobile app; it is not a separate app or a menu item you open before choosing music. Spotify’s October 6, 2026 announcement says the expanded feature is rolling out to Premium listeners aged 18 or older in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. Spotify announced quizzes for more than 2,000 artists across those 11 countries, but that does not mean every artist’s quiz is visible to every listener.

At launch, quizzes for select artists are in English. Spotify says it plans to add more artists, languages, and markets. The rollout is gradual, with no published schedule for when a particular account or artist will receive the card.
How do I start Spotify Music Quiz?
- Update Spotify. Use the latest version of the app, as Spotify recommends.
- Play a track by a participating artist. Start any song by an artist whose quiz is available. Spotify has not published a complete artist-by-artist catalog.
- Open Now Playing. On mobile, tap the current track bar above the menu bar to expand the Now Playing view. See Spotify Support’s Now Playing view instructions.
- Scroll down within Now Playing. Look for the Music Quiz card below the track information.
- Tap the card and play. Answer the questions; when you finish, Spotify shows your score, which you can share if you want.
Do I need Premium?
For the October 2026 expansion, yes: Spotify says access is rolling out to Premium listeners aged 18 or older in the 11 named countries. The announcement does not describe access for free accounts or listeners under 18, so it does not establish that they can use this expanded version.

Why can’t I see the Music Quiz card?
Check each part of the access path before assuming the feature is unavailable to your account:
- Account: Confirm that you have Premium and are at least 18.
- Country: The rollout markets Spotify named are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia.
- App: Update Spotify to the latest version.
- Artist: Play a track by an artist whose quiz is available; Spotify has not published a complete live catalog.
- Screen: Expand Now Playing and scroll down to find the card.
If these conditions seem to be met and the card is still missing, gradual availability may be the reason. Spotify says it may not appear for every artist or listener right away, and has not provided a per-account rollout checker or an individual availability schedule.

What happens in the quiz?
Spotify describes a mix of music trivia, album-cover reveals, and questions asking you to identify a song from an audio preview. Questions draw on the artist’s catalog, career milestones, and defining moments. You see a score at the end and can share your result with friends. Details are in Spotify’s Music Quiz announcement.
Is this the same as the BTS Music Quiz?
No. Spotify announced the expanded Music Quiz on October 6, 2026, with its own list of 11 rollout markets and an English-language launch for select artist quizzes. An earlier, artist-specific BTS quiz was announced on March 20, 2026, for Premium users globally in English, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. Spotify’s BTS announcement instructed listeners to play a BTS track, scroll in Now Playing, and tap “Play quiz.” That earlier availability should not be taken as the market or language availability of the later expansion.
