To join Xbox Free Play Days, check the current offer, confirm whether the specific game requires a Game Pass membership, then install it from the Xbox Store or its game page on Xbox.com. The lineup rotates, and membership, supported platforms, event dates, and any post-event discount can differ by title.
Which games are free for Xbox Free Play Days right now?
Check the official Xbox Free Play Days page or the game’s Store listing before installing. Xbox says new games are added weekly, so an event article or previously seen lineup may no longer reflect what is available. Confirm the offer on the individual title page, including its end date, platform support, membership requirement, and any purchase offer.

Dated example: Xbox Wire’s October 1, 2026 event post listed FARCRY 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest as free for all Xbox members from Thursday, October 1 through Sunday, October 4. The post said Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential was not required for those five games. That dated offer may have ended; it is not a current lineup guarantee. Read the Xbox Wire event post.

Eligibility is title-specific. Xbox describes Free Play Days as limited-time trials for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members, while event posts can separately identify games that are free for all Xbox members. Check the eligibility wording on the current event and individual Store listing rather than assuming every game requires Game Pass—or that every game is membership-free.

Xbox Wire’s instruction is to “find and install the games on each of the individual game details page on XBOX.com.” Do not infer that a title supports PC or every Xbox console simply because it appears in the general Free Play Days collection; use that game’s own listing to check platform availability.
