Find the Free Play Days game you want
You can browse the collection on an Xbox console or start with an individual game page on Xbox.com. Xbox Wire gives these routes for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles; store labels and event details can change over time.

On Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S
- Open Xbox Store.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Choose the Free Play Days collection and open a game you want to try.
On Xbox.com
- Open the individual game’s detail page on Xbox.com.
- Continue to Microsoft Store.
- Sign in if prompted; Xbox Wire says you must be signed in to see the install option.

Free Play Days does not mean every game is open to every Xbox member. Xbox event lineups have included both games requiring a Game Pass membership and titles available to all Xbox members. Check the current game listing for its eligibility, and confirm the event dates and regional availability there before you begin; older event announcements do not establish what is available now.

Official examples show why it is worth checking each title rather than assuming one rule applies to the whole collection: Xbox Wire’s January 2026 event post distinguishes all-member games from membership-required games, while its May 2026 Catan and Deadside post gives examples of membership-required titles.
What happens when the event ends?
Xbox Wire says players can purchase the game or other editions at a limited-time discount to keep playing, and retain Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event. Whether a discount is offered, its amount, and which editions are available can vary by title and region; check that game’s live listing rather than relying on an older event post. This statement does not establish that every game’s saved data or access entitlement will carry over.

If the install option is missing
First confirm that you are signed in to Microsoft Store, then check the game’s current listing for its event dates, region, and membership requirement. Xbox Wire’s event instructions do not provide troubleshooting steps for failed downloads, region mismatches, or storage problems, so use current Xbox Support guidance for those issues rather than assuming a specific fix.
