The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e Gen 5 listing specified an 11.6-inch display, Intel Celeron N4100, 4 GB of RAM, and a 128 GB SSD. That is a configuration to assess against your own workload, not a guarantee of speed or condition. Check operating-system support before choosing a model
Chromebooks: look up the exact update schedule
Google says eligible Chromebooks receive 10 years of automatic updates, but the schedule is specific to each device. Do not assume that every Chromebook in a model family has the same remaining support. Find the exact model’s automatic-update expiration (AUE) date, and check whether extended updates require opting in. Windows laptops: do not mistake Windows 10 for supported Windows
Microsoft lists October 14, 2025 as the end-of-support date for Windows 10. That date has passed. Before buying an older Windows business laptop, verify that the exact hardware can run a currently supported Windows version, and check whether any edition-specific or extended-support arrangement applies to that unit. Compare the exact listing, not just the model name
A retailer category page can surface candidates, but it does not establish the details that determine whether a particular used laptop is a safe buy. Before deciding, check:

- Condition and seller: Is the unit new, open-box, manufacturer-refurbished, or seller-refurbished? Read how the seller defines its grade and identify who is responsible for the sale.
- Battery and accessories: Look for battery-health information and confirm that a compatible charger is included. If either detail is missing, ask the seller rather than assuming.
- Protection and returns: Find the actual return window and warranty for that listing. Do not infer either from a product category or marketplace search page.
- Configuration: Confirm the exact processor, RAM, storage type and capacity, display size and resolution, ports, webcam, and keyboard layout. Similar model names can refer to materially different configurations.
- Price and stock: Recheck the item price, shipping, applicable tax, and availability immediately before ordering. A sold-out result or “as low as” price is not an available offer.
Choose ChromeOS or Windows based on your software
A Chromebook is the more plausible fit when your work is browser-first and the services and apps you rely on work with ChromeOS. A Windows laptop may be necessary for particular desktop applications, but older bargain models need closer operating-system eligibility checks. Make a short list of the programs and peripherals you must use, then confirm compatibility for the exact operating system and configuration before paying.

At this budget, modest hardware is best considered for basic browser, school, or document tasks only when the specific configuration and required apps support that use. The retail snapshots do not establish performance in real workloads, battery life, build quality, or the condition of any individual unit. Avoid buying on a model name or price alone, and do not interpret this shortlist as a hands-on review.
