Check the NFL’s official injury report, find the cornerback by name, and confirm the team and position are correct. Then read the injury, practice status, and game status as separate fields. Check again for a newer official update before relying on the listing: practice participation alone does not decide whether a player will play.
Find the cornerback on the NFL injury report
- Open the NFL official injury report.
- Locate the player by name. Confirm the team and that the listed position is CB, so you do not mistake another player with a similar name or a different team’s entry.
- Read the injury, practice status, and game status fields individually. The league report lists these separately.
- Check the report again before making a decision or sharing the status. If the team has posted a newer official update, take that update into account too.
What each report field means
Injury
This field gives the body area or condition listed on the report. Do not turn that wording into a more specific diagnosis or recovery estimate unless an official source provides one.

Practice status
The report indicates whether the player did not participate, was limited, or was a full participant. The NFL’s 2016 Injury Report Policy defines limited participation as less than 100% of a player’s normal repetitions and full participation as 100%. Those definitions come from a dated policy document; they do not establish every current reporting procedure.

Where supplied, this is a separate designation from practice participation. Use the game-status field rather than treating a missed or limited practice as proof that the player is unavailable.

Reason for an absence
Do not assume every absence is injury-related. The NFL report can identify an entry as “Not injury related,” including rest or personal matters, alongside injury information.

The NFL report is a changing snapshot. Compare the latest available entry with earlier updates, and check the team’s official site or public-relations updates for newer information. A team update can be useful if the league report has not refreshed yet. Posting times and filing deadlines are not stated here because the available policy document is from 2016 and does not establish current-season timing.
Rank #2
If you are comparing two cornerbacks or tracking a player across updates, use the same details for each: the report’s date or time, listed injury or reason, practice participation, game-status designation if present, and any newer official team or league update. Do not infer severity or certainty of playing from participation alone.
