To equip a title in Tales of Eternia Remastered, open the main menu, enter the character information or status area, open the title list, choose the character, select an earned title, and confirm using the button prompt shown on your platform. Titles are assigned to individual characters, so changing Reid’s title does not change Farah’s or anyone else’s.
The exact button sequence and some menu wording are not documented as a universal shortcut. Use the labels and confirmation prompts visible in your version of the game rather than relying on a platform-specific controller instruction.

Quick procedure: equip a title
- Pause the game and open the main menu.
- Choose the menu entry that contains character information, status, or personal character data. The wording can vary by platform or localization.
- Open the title list. The game’s title page contains the titles associated with the selected character.
- Switch to the character whose title you want to change. For example, select Reid if you want to replace Reid’s current title.
- Highlight an earned title. Titles that have not been unlocked should not be treated as selectable replacements.
- Press the confirm button shown on screen. The prompt is the reliable control reference for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam versions.
- Return to the character screen or resume play and check that the selected title is now displayed for that character.
This route reflects the in-game menu structure described by the available guide: titles are listed in the menu, and the list is arranged in the same order used by the game. Because a verified, platform-neutral button sequence has not been published, do not assume that a particular face button, keyboard key, or shortcut works on every system.

The title list is part of the main in-game menu, not a separate option on the title screen or a system-level achievement panel. Look inside the area used to inspect a character’s personal information or status. Depending on the platform and the wording shown in your copy, you may see a label such as Character, Status, Information, or a similar entry before reaching Titles.

If you do not immediately see a title option, first make sure a specific character is selected. The list is character-specific, so a general party screen may show equipment, statistics, or skills without exposing the title list. Move into the individual character view and inspect its available tabs or submenus.
Why the on-screen prompt matters
The retrieved guide confirms the title page and its placement in the in-game menu, but it does not provide a tested sequence of button names for every release. Remastered versions are available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Their controller and keyboard layouts differ, so the prompt displayed beside Select, Confirm, Back, or an equivalent command is the authoritative instruction for your copy.
Changing Reid’s title, or any other character’s title
Changing a title uses the same process for every playable character. The only important distinction is the character selected before you open or edit the list. To change Reid’s title, select Reid in the character information area, open Titles, choose one of Reid’s earned entries, and confirm. To change Farah’s title, repeat the process after selecting Farah.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTitles are not a single party-wide setting. Equipping one on Reid leaves the current title of Farah, Meredy, Keele, Chat, and Max unchanged. If you are checking a completion goal, review each character separately rather than assuming that one successful change applied to the whole party.
Switching between titles
You can use the title list as a way to change the currently displayed title whenever another earned entry is available. Select the character, move to a different unlocked title, and confirm again. The list is not merely a historical achievement log: it is the place where the character’s active title is selected.
Keep the selection step and the confirmation step separate. Highlighting an entry may only move the cursor; the game’s visible confirm prompt is what commits the replacement. If the title does not change after leaving the menu, reopen the same character’s list and confirm the highlighted entry again.

What character titles mean
Titles are character-specific milestones. They are awarded for several kinds of progress rather than for one universal level threshold: character levels, skills, recipes, story events, quizzes, collections, battles, arenas, minigames, money totals, combos, and difficulty achievements all appear among the available categories.

The examples below are drawn from the published title guide. They illustrate the types of requirements you may encounter; they are not a claim that every title or every prerequisite is listed here.
| Character | Examples or categories | How progress is measured |
|---|---|---|
| Reid | Swordsman, Swordmaster, Guardian, Knight of Legend | Level milestones: level 10, 30, 60, and 99 respectively |
| Reid | The True Hero | Learn every skill |
| Reid | Gourmand | Master all recipes |
| Reid | Lens Hunter | Find all 60 Lens |
| Reid | Quiz, arena, minigame, money, combo, and battle-difficulty titles | Complete the relevant challenge or threshold |
| Farah | Level, skill, recipe, skit, cooking-contest, and sidequest titles | Character growth, optional scenes, cooking contests, or sidequest progress |
| Meredy | Level, skill, recipe, story, collection, and minigame titles | Character growth, story progress, collections, or minigames |
| Keele | Level, skill, recipe, story, collection, and minigame titles | Character growth, story progress, collections, or minigames |
| Chat | Level, skill, recipe, story, collection, and minigame titles | Character growth, story progress, collections, or minigames |
| Max | Level, skill, recipe, story, collection, and minigame titles | Character growth, story progress, collections, or minigames |
Reid’s level titles
The guide gives four clear level examples for Reid: Swordsman at level 10, Swordmaster at level 30, Guardian at level 60, and Knight of Legend at level 99. These are milestones tied to Reid’s level, so they should be distinguished from titles earned by collecting items or clearing optional challenges.
Completion titles and challenge titles
Other Reid titles reward broader completion. The True Hero is associated with learning every skill, Gourmand with mastering all recipes, and Lens Hunter with finding all 60 Lens. Additional Reid entries are tied to quizzes, the arena, minigames, money, combo performance, and battle difficulty. When planning a completion run, record the requirement category as well as the title name; two titles can require very different kinds of play.
Titles for the other characters
Farah’s entries include level and skill progress but also skits, cooking contests, and sidequests. Meredy, Keele, Chat, and Max have titles connected with level, skills, recipes, story events, collections, and minigames. These categories explain why a title may not appear simply because a character has reached a high level: the relevant trigger may be an optional scene, a recipe set, a collection, a story event, or a minigame result.

A title’s award notification and its name in the title list do not always match. The guide’s specific example concerns Reid’s advanced Tales quiz. When the quiz is completed, the game reports that Reid earned the title Tales Series Mega Mind, while the title list identifies the same entry as Teller of all Tales.

This is a naming difference, not evidence that the reward failed or that two separate titles were awarded. If you cannot find a title by searching the wording used in the reward message, inspect the list for a related or alternate name. The title list is the place to confirm the selectable label and equip the entry.
A practical way to track alternate names
- Write down the exact wording shown in the reward notification.
- Open the relevant character’s title list rather than looking in a general achievement menu.
- Compare nearby entries and the order of the list. The published guide notes that its title page follows the same order as the in-game menu.
- When you find the matching entry under a different label, record both names in your own checklist.
This avoids marking a title as missing merely because the notification and menu use different terminology.
Checking that a title is equipped
After confirming an entry, stay in the character information area long enough to verify the active title shown for that character. If the interface returns to the list, move away and back to the character entry or reopen the title screen. A successful change should be associated with the character you edited, not with every party member.
- If Reid changed but Farah did not, that is expected: titles are assigned per character.
- If the title list contains the entry but the active field still shows the previous title, confirm the new entry instead of merely highlighting it.
- If the entry is absent, verify the unlock condition and check the alternate-name issue described above.
Troubleshooting title changes
The Titles option is not where you expect
Return to the main menu and enter the individual character information or status view. Do not search only the equipment, skills, or party-management pages. The title list is documented as an in-game menu page associated with character data.
The title appears to be missing
First identify which character earned it. A title unlocked for Reid will not automatically appear in Farah’s list. Next, check whether the requirement was actually completed: a level title requires the stated level, while a recipe, collection, story, quiz, or minigame title requires its own category of progress. Finally, search for an alternate menu name if the reward message used different wording.
The menu name does not match the notification
Use the title-list label as the name to select. The Tales Series Mega Mind/Teller of all Tales example demonstrates that notification text is not always the same as the menu label.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The title changes back after leaving the menu
Reopen the character’s title list and use the confirm command shown on screen. A cursor highlight alone may not save the selection. If the problem persists, verify that the game is fully updated and that you are editing the intended character rather than a different party member.
You are using a different controller or platform
Do not copy a button instruction from another platform. Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam control schemes use different prompts, and the available evidence does not establish one universal shortcut. Follow the labels displayed by your own version.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do titles carry over to New Game Plus?
Yes, titles are included among the carryover elements for the second playthrough and beyond in version 2.0.0. Bandai Namco’s October 15, 2026 update notice specifically says: “Added ‘Titles’ to the carryover elements for the second playthrough and beyond.”
If you are starting a later playthrough, make sure the game has received version 2.0.0 or a newer update before relying on title carryover. The update notice says an internet connection is required to apply the update. The wording establishes that titles are part of the carryover system; it does not provide a separate button sequence for selecting which individual titles transfer.
What to do before starting another playthrough
- Install the available game update while connected to the internet.
- Open the title list on your completed save and confirm that the titles you care about are present.
- Record any alternate reward and menu names so you can recognize them later.
- Start the second playthrough or a later run only after confirming the updated version is active.
Version and platform context
The remaster is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Bandai Namco describes the release as including switchable remastered or original graphics and sound options along with other quality-of-life features. Those presentation options do not change the basic rule for titles: open the character menu, select an earned entry, and confirm with the prompt shown for the platform.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsVersion 2.0.0 is relevant specifically because it adds titles to carryover elements. If a guide or video predates that update, its New Game Plus advice may not reflect the current behavior.

Edition and DLC details that can affect what you see
The October 16, 2026 edition guide lists standard and Deluxe editions and documents a physical release for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. It also says downloadable content is claimed from the inventory’s Other tab.
These edition details matter when a guide refers to an item, bonus, or DLC-related feature that you cannot find. They do not create a separate title-equipping method. Once a title is earned and available to the character, selection still takes place in the in-game title list. If you are checking a bonus-related objective, claim eligible DLC from Inventory > Other first, then return to the character menu and inspect the relevant list.
Planning a title-completion run
A completion checklist is more reliable when it separates title categories. Use one section for level milestones, another for skills and recipes, and separate sections for story events, collections, quizzes, arenas, minigames, money, combos, difficulty achievements, skits, cooking contests, and sidequests. This prevents a high-level character from being mistaken for a fully completed character.
Recommended Free Tools
- Track the character attached to every title.
- Record both the reward wording and the menu wording when they differ.
- For Reid, note the level 10, 30, 60, and 99 milestones separately.
- Mark the all-skills, all-recipes, and all-60-Lens goals independently from combat or minigame goals.
- For Farah, include skits, cooking contests, and sidequests in addition to level, skill, and recipe progress.
- For Meredy, Keele, Chat, and Max, check story, collection, and minigame categories as well as level, skill, and recipe progress.
- After earning a title, verify it in the character’s list and equip it there if you want it active.
The available guide groups titles by these achievement types but does not establish a universal missability list. Do not assume that a story, skit, contest, or sidequest title can always be recovered after a particular event; consult the in-game progress and the title’s stated requirement before leaving an area or advancing the story.
Bottom line
Use the main menu’s individual character information or status area to open Titles, select the character, choose an earned entry, and confirm with the platform prompt. Treat the title list—not the reward notification—as the definitive name and selection screen, and update to version 2.0.0 or later if you want titles included in a second or later playthrough.
