Enter a Minecraft seed in the world-creation settings before you create the world. In the documented Java Edition redesign, the seed field is on the World tab. In Bedrock Edition, check Advanced for world-generation settings; the exact field location can vary by platform and version.

Choose Create to generate the world using that seed.
Mojang described the seed field on the World tab in its announcement of a revised Java world-creation interface. That announcement documents the redesigned screen, but does not establish that every Java release uses identical labels. Mojang’s Java snapshot announcement also describes world type, structure, and bonus-chest controls on that tab.
Enter a seed in Bedrock Edition
-
From the main menu, select Play > Worlds > Create new world, the route in Minecraft Help’s world-creation instructions.
-
Open Advanced and look through the world-generation settings for the seed field. Mojang’s Bedrock 1.21.80 notes place the Flat World option in Advanced, but do not explicitly identify the seed field’s location there.

Enter the seed, then create the world.
Bedrock’s menus and available options may differ across devices and releases. The Create New World experience rolled out gradually across supported platforms, according to the Bedrock 1.18.30 release notes. The Bedrock 1.21.80 release notes are evidence that Advanced is used for world-generation options, not a guarantee that every version places the seed in the same spot.

What to do if you cannot find the seed field
-
Check whether you are playing Java or Bedrock; their world-creation screens are organized differently.
-
Confirm your game version and platform, then inspect the world-generation settings before creating the world.

If the labels differ from those above, use the tabs or sections for world settings rather than assuming there is one universal menu path.

Minecraft Help documents the general Bedrock creation route, but not a complete, current seed-entry path for every platform.

What a seed does—and which values Bedrock accepts
A seed is an input used to guide world generation. In Bedrock 1.18.30, Mojang documented signed 64-bit numeric seeds from -9223372036854775808 to 9223372036854775807. The same release notes said non-numeric text entered in the seed interface produced the same seeds as Java Edition at that release. These are version-specific details, not a guarantee about every older or newer version. See the Bedrock 1.18.30 notes.
