Search that ID in a Cardano explorer: a “pending” label in an app does not by itself show whether a transaction reached the public blockchain.
How do I check an ADA transaction?
- Find the TxId. Open the transaction or withdrawal details in the app that sent the ADA and copy its transaction ID. Cardano describes a transaction as being created, signed, and submitted; the sender must authorize it, and it must be submitted before it is reflected in the ledger. Cardano Docs says transaction content can be viewed in an explorer after those steps.
- Search the TxId in a Cardano explorer. Cardano’s tracking-tools guidance says explorers can search by transaction ID and display transaction and block information, including confirmation details. Check that the ID you searched matches the sending record.
- Compare the explorer result with both apps. Note whether the explorer finds the transaction, whether it shows a block and confirmation depth, whether the sending app reports an error, and whether the recipient has credited the funds. These are distinct checkpoints, not interchangeable status labels.
If the sending app does not provide a TxId, the available evidence does not establish that the transaction reached the public chain. Check the app’s submission result and any error message. If the status remains unclear, contact the wallet or exchange that sent it and provide the relevant record. Do not make a blind duplicate send; retry behavior depends on the provider and is not universal.

What does the Cardano explorer result mean?
TxId found, but no block inclusion is shown
Record exactly what the explorer displays and check again using the sending wallet or provider’s guidance. Cardano’s local submission process permits a node to accept a transaction or reject it with a reason; distribution between nodes is a separate step. One explorer display without block inclusion is not, by itself, proof that the transaction definitively failed.

Block inclusion means the transaction appears in a block; confirmation depth describes how many blocks have been built on top of it. Cardano Docs distinguishes transaction confirmation and depth from chain confirmation or stability: additional blocks increase the likelihood that the transaction is immutable. A recipient service can still have a separate internal settlement or deposit-credit process.

The sending wallet or node shows an error
Keep the exact error text, along with the TxId if available. Cardano’s official troubleshooting reference is aimed at node and command-line users. If you use a consumer wallet or exchange, give the message to its support team rather than trying node or CLI commands intended for operators.
Why is my Cardano transaction not showing up?
First distinguish an app status from an on-chain record. A TxId searchable in an explorer is evidence to investigate on the chain; a pending label without a TxId does not establish that the transaction was submitted. Even after local submission, acceptance or rejection by a node and later distribution across the network are different stages.

If you have a TxId but cannot find it, verify that you copied it correctly and that you are searching a Cardano explorer. Then consult the sending provider’s transaction details or support, especially if the app shows a rejection or validation error. Avoid creating another transfer until the provider clarifies the original transaction’s status.

The official Cardano-node troubleshooting guide describes these clues. They are technical diagnostics, not universal explanations for every consumer app’s “pending” status.

Failed readingor malformed/not hex encoded: the guide’s example diagnosis is an invalid transaction input or UTXO. A support or node operator may verify that the input UTXO is correct.ExpiredUTxO: the current slot has moved outside the transaction’s validity interval. The guide’s example remedy is to build a new transaction with a later validity bound; its slot-count suggestion is CLI-specific, not a recommended waiting period for wallet users.ValueNotConservedUTxO: the inputs do not balance the fee, amount sent, and change. The guide points to checking output amounts against input amounts.BadInputsUTxO: a UTXO transaction index is invalid. The guide points to verifying the index.
For a consumer transaction, preserve these messages and ask the wallet or exchange to interpret them. Do not treat developer-level examples as instructions to edit or resubmit a transaction yourself.
Could fees or confirmation time be the reason?
Cardano Docs gives the minimum-fee formula as a * size(tx) + b, where size(tx) is transaction size in bytes and a and b are protocol parameters. Cardano’s parameter guide identifies fee-per-byte and fixed-fee parameters and notes that protocol parameters may change. Use the current fee estimate and any validation message shown by your wallet; a static fee amount would not be a reliable universal guide.

The reviewed official guidance does not establish one wait time or confirmation count that applies to every ADA transfer and destination. Use the explorer to assess block inclusion and depth, then check the recipient exchange, merchant, or wallet’s own deposit policy for when it credits or settles incoming funds.
What to send support
- The TxId, if the sending app provides one.
- The sending app’s exact status and any error text.
- What the explorer shows, including whether a block and confirmation depth appear.
- The recipient service’s deposit status, if the transfer is meant for an exchange or merchant.
Cardano Docs describes the local submission exchange this way: “The client sends a request with a single transaction” and “The server either accepts the transaction (returning a confirmation), or rejects it (returning the reason).” That distinction is why the sending provider’s submission result and the explorer’s later block information are both useful when diagnosing a pending transfer.
