To turn on Twitch Drops alerts, sign in, open Settings → Notifications, enable Drops & Quests under Marketing, and save. To follow a reward, watch a stream marked Drops Enabled, open the Drops & More panel from the chat Drops icon or banner, and read the progress bar. Use Drops Inventory to see every active campaign, claim rewards that are ready, and check whether your game account is connected for delivery.
What Twitch Drops notifications actually control
Twitch Drops are campaign rewards earned by watching eligible broadcasts, subscribing in a qualifying campaign, or completing another requirement shown on the reward card. Notifications are only alerts. Turning them off does not prevent earning progress or receiving a Drop. Twitch states plainly: “Disabling notifications does NOT stop you from earning Drops.”
There are two notification scopes:
- Global Drops & Quests alerts: Twitch-wide notifications for campaigns and reward activity.
- Channel bell settings: alerts for a particular channel, with a notification level you choose.
Progress is separate from both settings. You can monitor the current channel in chat or review all campaigns in Drops Inventory, even when notifications are disabled.

Enable global Drops & Quests notifications
- Sign in to your Twitch account.
- Open your account menu and choose Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Find the Marketing section.
- Turn on Drops & Quests.
- Save the change if Twitch presents a save button.
This setting controls Twitch’s general Drops and Quests alerts. It does not subscribe you to a campaign, add watch time, or replace the requirement to watch an eligible stream.
Control alerts for one channel
For a channel-specific choice, open the channel and select its bell icon. Choose the notification level that suits you. This is useful when you want alerts from a participating streamer but do not want broader marketing notifications. A channel bell setting cannot make an ineligible stream count toward a campaign.

Find a stream that can earn a Drop
Open a broadcast in the game category associated with the campaign. Twitch identifies participating broadcasts with a Drops Enabled tag in the directory. The same label should be visible on the stream or its information area when the campaign is active.
- Confirm that the stream is in the campaign’s specified game category.
- Look for the visible Drops Enabled designation.
- Remain signed in to the Twitch account that should receive the reward.
- Read the campaign’s reward card before assuming that any watch time qualifies.
Only eligible participating channels count. Watching a different category, a non-participating channel, or a broadcast after its campaign window closes will not advance that campaign’s requirement.
Track progress without leaving the stream
Twitch lets you inspect the reward while you watch. Twitch’s help documentation says, “You can track your progress towards Drops rewards in chat without leaving the stream.”
- Open the chat on a Drops-enabled stream.
- Select the Drops icon at the bottom of chat, or select the Drops banner at the top of chat when it appears.
- The Drops & More panel opens.
- Read the reward card’s requirement and progress bar.
The panel identifies the reward, the game or partner running the campaign, your current progress, and—when applicable—an EXPIRING SOON warning. This makes the panel more reliable than estimating time from when you joined the stream.

Understand the requirement shown on the card
Twitch groups progress into watch-time Drops and subscription-based Drops. A watch-time card may require a specified number of minutes or hours in an eligible broadcast. A subscription-based card requires the qualifying subscription action stated by that campaign. The card is authoritative for the specific reward: do not assume that progress in one campaign satisfies another.
Campaign tools allow time-based requirements from 15 minutes to 15 hours. That is a range for campaign configuration, not a promise that every campaign uses either endpoint. Campaign schedules are entered in UTC, so a start or end time may appear different from your local clock.

The in-chat panel covers the channel you are watching. For a complete view, open Drops Inventory. Inventory shows active campaigns across Twitch and lets you check rewards independently of the current stream.
- Open Twitch while signed in.
- Go to Drops Inventory.
- Review each active campaign and its reward card.
- Check the progress indicator and any displayed deadline.
- When a reward is marked ready, select Claim.
Twitch says a claim notification appears when the requirement is met. If you miss that notification, the reward can still be claimed from Drops Inventory during the available claim period. Always use the deadline displayed for that campaign; it takes precedence over a generic expectation about when claiming should remain open.

What “ready” and “claimed” mean
- In progress: you have not completed the requirement.
- Ready to claim: the requirement is complete, but you still need to select the claim control in Inventory.
- Claimed: Twitch has recorded the claim and can begin the campaign’s delivery process.
Do not close the process at the moment the bar reaches 100 percent if the card still offers a claim button. Complete that final claim step before the campaign’s deadline.
Link the right game account before expecting delivery
Claiming on Twitch and receiving the item in a game are related but distinct steps. Before claiming—or as soon as a campaign asks—verify that the Twitch account is connected to the required game account for that campaign.
Most rewards are delivered automatically to the connected game account. Some campaigns instead issue a code that must be redeemed on a third-party website. The reward card or campaign instructions should identify which method applies.
- Use the exact Twitch account on which you earned the Drop.
- Connect the game account for the correct platform or game edition when the campaign requires one.
- Check that the connection is still active rather than assuming an old link remains valid.
- For code-based rewards, copy the code and follow the campaign’s stated redemption instructions.
If a reward is claimed but does not appear in-game, check the account connection first. Twitch’s developer documentation assigns fulfillment to the campaign owner’s game integration, so the participating game publisher is the appropriate support contact after you have confirmed the link and claim status.

How long delivery and claiming can take
Post-claim delivery
Twitch’s current viewer-help guidance says most delivery occurs within 24–48 hours. Some rewards can take up to seven days, so a missing item immediately after claiming is not proof that the claim failed. Delivery depends on the campaign’s integration and can differ between automatic entitlements and codes.
Campaign end and claim deadline
A campaign can stop awarding progress at its end time even if you keep watching. The end time is based on the campaign schedule, which Twitch’s developer guide describes in UTC. Twitch’s viewer help describes a seven-day post-campaign claim period, while developer documentation discusses viewers claiming up to 14 days after campaign end in an analytics context. Those statements do not replace the deadline shown for an individual reward. Treat the displayed campaign deadline in Drops Inventory as authoritative.

Twitch’s developer guide says earned or claimed rewards remain in Drops Inventory for six months. Retention in Inventory does not guarantee that a game will restore an entitlement after an account unlink, platform change, or publisher-side issue; delivery and redemption still depend on the campaign integration.

- Check the game category. The broadcast must be in the category specified by the campaign.
- Confirm Drops Enabled. Look for the visible tag in the directory or on the stream.
- Stay signed in. A logged-out tab, a different Twitch account, or a session that expired can prevent credit from being associated with you.
- Open Drops Inventory. Compare the inventory card with the in-chat panel; Inventory is the place to verify all campaigns and deadlines.
- Read the requirement again. A campaign may require a subscription or another action rather than ordinary watch time.
- Check the campaign window. Progress will not advance after the campaign has ended, even if the stream remains live.
If the bar is unchanged after these checks, move to another broadcast that is clearly marked Drops Enabled and in the correct category. Continue using Inventory to verify whether the campaign itself, rather than the current channel, is the source of the problem.
Why a claimed Drop is missing in the game
A Twitch claim can be successful while the in-game item is still pending. Use this sequence:

- Verify that the Twitch account is linked to the game account you are currently using.
- Check whether the campaign uses automatic delivery or a redeemable code.
- Allow the typical 24–48-hour delivery window; some rewards take up to seven days.
- If the item is still absent, contact the campaign’s publisher or game support with the Twitch claim details. The publisher controls the game-side integration.
Do not claim the same reward repeatedly or unlink accounts while a delivery is pending unless the campaign owner specifically instructs you to do so; account changes can make it harder to identify the destination of an entitlement.
A practical routine for every Twitch Drops campaign
- Enable Drops & Quests in Settings → Notifications → Marketing, or leave notifications off if you prefer; earning is unaffected.
- Open the campaign’s participating game category and choose a stream labeled Drops Enabled.
- Open Drops & More from chat and record the requirement, current progress, and any expiration warning.
- Keep the correct Twitch account signed in while you satisfy the displayed requirement.
- Open Drops Inventory to monitor all campaigns, not just the current channel.
- Claim every reward marked ready before its displayed deadline.
- Confirm the required game account is linked and note whether delivery is automatic or code-based.
- Allow the documented delivery window, then contact the campaign publisher if the claimed reward is still missing.

Keeping these scopes separate makes the process predictable: notification settings tell Twitch how to alert you, the in-chat panel measures the stream you are watching, and Drops Inventory is the record for claiming and reviewing campaigns.
