To get Minecraft’s official ray tracing, play Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock Edition) on a Windows 64-bit PC with a DirectX hardware ray tracing-capable GPU, then open a compatible Marketplace world or activate a compatible PBR resource pack in a supported world. Java Edition does not include this Bedrock ray tracing feature.
Check that you have the right edition and platform
The documented real-time ray tracing feature is for Minecraft for Windows, which is Bedrock Edition. Minecraft’s PC edition comparison lists ray tracing for Bedrock, not Java. If you are playing Java Edition, a Java shader is a separate approach and will not turn on the official Bedrock feature. See Minecraft’s Java and Bedrock PC edition comparison.

Ray tracing is not supported for use with VR or MR headsets. Check the current in-game options on your device as well as the published requirements before troubleshooting further.
Check the PC requirements
Minecraft Help’s published minimum requirements specify Windows 64-bit, an Intel Core i5 or equivalent, more than 8 GB of RAM, Bedrock version 1.16.200 or higher, and a GPU capable of DirectX hardware ray tracing. The listed GPU examples are NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series and higher, and AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series and higher. These are capability thresholds, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate. Read the Minecraft Help ray tracing requirements.

- READY FOR ANYTHING – Dive headfirst into gaming on Windows 11 powered by the Intel Core i5 Processor 13450HX and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with a Max TGP of 115W and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus.
- SUBTLE STYLING – The TUF Gaming F16 maintains its classic design, boasting a subtle embossed TUF logo on its sleek cover.
- IMMERSIVE VISUALS – The TUF Gaming F16’s FHD+ 165Hz display with 100% sRGB color draws you into the action. Adaptive-Sync technology reduces lag, minimizes stuttering, and eliminates visual tearing for ultra-smooth gameplay.
- MILITARY GRADE DURABILITY – As a TUF gaming machine, the F16 has been rigorously tested to meet Military Grade testing standards, MIL-STD-810H. Rest easy knowing this laptop will operate at peak performance in harsh conditions.
- EFFICIENT COOLING – Equipped with 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans, full-width heatsink, and full-width vent, the TUF Gaming F16 optimizes cooling performance without extra noise.
- Operating system: Windows 64-bit.
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent.
- Memory: More than 8 GB RAM.
- Game version: Bedrock 1.16.200 or higher, as stated in the published requirements.
- Graphics: A DirectX hardware ray tracing-capable GPU; check the exact GPU and driver support rather than relying only on its brand or product family.
Update Windows and your graphics drivers if needed; Minecraft notes that updates may be required. If your GPU does not meet the hardware capability requirement, changing a resource pack or graphics setting cannot add that capability.
Open a world that supports ray tracing
Having capable hardware is not enough: the world must also provide compatible content. Minecraft identifies selected Marketplace worlds as ray tracing capable. Microsoft Learn explains that supported worlds and physically based rendering (PBR) resource packs provide the content and textures used for the effect. Start with a Marketplace world specifically marked for ray tracing, or use a compatible downloaded world and its matching pack. Minecraft’s ray tracing overview describes supported Marketplace content.

- 【Ryzen 5 6600H for Demanding Daily Performance】AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor features 6 cores, 12 threads, and boost speeds up to 4.5GHz, delivering stronger performance for office multitasking, coding, content handling, and sustained daily workloads. Compared with many common thin-and-light Intel Ryzen 5 7430U, Core i3-1315U, Core i5-1334U, AMD Ryzen 5 7520U, and Ryzen 7 5825U configurations, it is a better fit for users who need more performance headroom.
- 【Radeon 660M Graphics】AMD Radeon 660M integrated graphics with RDNA 2 architecture supports everyday visual work, smooth media playback, light photo editing, and casual gaming needs like LoL or CS2 at 1080p settings. It is a balanced fit for students, remote workers, and entry-level creators who want capable graphics without the extra heat and power draw of a dedicated GPU.
- 【16GB RAM & 1TB SSD with Upgrade Room】16GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD deliver smooth out-of-the-box performance for multitasking, large file handling, and daily storage needs. With dual SO-DIMM slots and an M.2 2280 design, the system still leaves room to upgrade up to 64GB RAM and up to 4TB SSD as your needs continue to grow.
- 【2 Year Warranty Support】Includes a 2-year manufacturer warranty and a 90-day hassle-free return window, with final assembly in the United States and after-sales replacement handled in the United States under this listing workflow. That added service clarity gives students, professionals, and home users more confidence when choosing a laptop for long-term daily use.
- 【53.58Wh Battery and 100W PD】A 53.58Wh smart battery paired with a separate 100W PD charger gives this laptop more flexibility for campus study, coffee shop work, and moving between rooms at home. The USB-C setup also supports convenient power and display connectivity, helping reduce the hassle of slow charging and frequent outlet hunting during a busy day.
Enable the compatible content
- For a Marketplace world: Find a world marked as ray tracing capable in Minecraft Marketplace and open it. A finished compatible world supplies the intended content; you do not need to follow creator instructions for building or packaging a resource pack.
- For a downloaded compatible world and pack: Open that world’s settings and activate the supplied resource pack. The exact navigation can vary by client version and world format; Microsoft’s RTX Resource Pack sample documents a resource-pack activation flow, but it is a creator-oriented sample rather than a required setup for every player.
- Enter the world: Check the graphics settings while in that world and on the supported device to confirm ray tracing is available. The option may not appear for an incompatible world, edition, or GPU.
An unrelated texture pack does not necessarily include PBR data, and a Java shader does not enable Bedrock’s official ray tracing mode. Use content explicitly compatible with ray tracing.
Ray tracing and Vibrant Visuals are different features
Minecraft says Windows ray tracing remains supported and that no changes were planned with the Vibrant Visuals announcement. Microsoft Learn describes ray tracing as still supported but largely superseded by Vibrant Visuals. Treat them as distinct rendering features, not interchangeable names or a promise that every world supports both. Availability can depend on the game client, device, and content; check the current in-game graphics options. The Learn page’s statement is in its Getting Started with Ray Tracing documentation, identified as updated October 6, 2025.
