For most Midea models, continuous drainage is a gravity-fed setup: connect a compatible hose to the unit’s continuous-drain port and run it downhill to a sink or floor drain. The outlet must stay below the port; a hose that rises above it can prevent water from draining. Check the manual for your exact model first, because Cube, bucketless, and pump-equipped models can use different connections or steps.
Before you connect a hose
Find the model number on the dehumidifier’s nameplate, then use that model’s manual. Midea’s instructions differ across configurations: some Cube models involve the bucket, while certain bucketless models require a mode to be enabled. The ordinary continuous-drain connection is also different from the pump connection on pump-equipped units.

Midea’s continuous-drain hose FAQ describes standard continuous drainage as gravity-fed. Its MAD50PE1QWT-B Cube manual illustrates steps for that specific model; do not assume its covers, hose fitting, or bucket arrangement applies to every Midea dehumidifier.

- Locate the continuous-drain port. Consult the manual to identify the correct port and remove its cover as directed. On the MAD50PE1QWT-B Cube, the manual says to rotate the plastic plug cover counter-clockwise. It also describes removing a separate continuous-drain cover from the rear of the bucket before placing the unit on the bucket.
- Attach a compatible hose. Insert the supplied hose, if your model includes one, and make sure it is fully seated. Midea’s FAQ says its units accept a standard-size drain hose, but the fitting must match your model. The cited Cube manual also documents a garden hose for that model; this is not confirmation that a garden hose fits every Midea unit.
- Route the hose downhill. Direct the outlet into a sink or floor drain, keeping it below the unit’s drain port. Avoid kinks and any upward loop that raises the hose above the port. Midea’s Cube manual says to place the unit high enough for the drain port to be above the hose outlet, so gravity can carry water through the hose.
- Follow any model-specific operating steps. For example, the manual for a bucketless-capable Midea model says to enable its mode within three minutes of plugging in, using that model’s UP and FILL LEVEL controls. This timing and control sequence is not a universal Midea instruction.
Gravity drainage and pump drainage are different
A standard continuous-drain hose relies on gravity and must run continuously downhill. On pump-equipped models, Midea describes a separate arrangement: a small clear hose connects to a small drain connector, and the pump filter must remain attached for the pump to work properly. Check the manual to determine whether your unit has a pump and which connection to use; do not treat the pump hose as the ordinary gravity-drain hose.

If water is not draining
- Check that the hose is fully seated on the correct continuous-drain port.
- Make sure the hose outlet is below the port and that no section rises above it.
- Confirm that you followed the instructions for your model, including any bucket or bucketless-mode steps.
- If you are using a pump connection, verify the pump hose and filter arrangement against the manual.
These checks address the setup requirements in Midea’s instructions; they do not diagnose every possible fault.

If the included hose is missing or damaged, check the manual’s connection and size requirements before buying a replacement. A standard dehumidifier drain hose is a sensible search starting point, but compatibility depends on the exact model. The cited Cube manual documents a garden hose for its model only; it does not establish universal compatibility.
