Download the graphics package for your exact Acer computer from Acer’s Drivers and Manuals portal, then copy the saved installer to the Windows 11 computer and run its Setup program locally. Search by serial number, SNID, part number, or exact model; choose Windows 11; expand Driver; and select the VGA or graphics download. Acer packages are the safest first choice because they match the firmware, switchable-graphics design, and custom settings of a particular Aspire, Nitro, Predator, Swift, TravelMate, or other Acer model.
If Acer does not offer Windows 11 in the operating-system selector, Acer says Windows Update will provide the drivers automatically. For Intel graphics, Intel’s manual download pages and Driver & Support Assistant are fallback options, but Intel recommends checking Acer first because a generic package may not include the manufacturer’s customizations.

What you need before downloading
Graphics drivers are not interchangeable simply because two laptops use Windows 11. Acer can ship several display adapters, BIOS versions, cooling profiles, and switchable-GPU configurations under one product family. Identify the exact computer before choosing a file.
- Serial number: the unique identifier printed on the device label or packaging.
- SNID: Acer’s shorter support identifier, usually printed beside the serial number.
- Part number: the product code used by Acer’s support system.
- Exact model: the full model designation, including suffixes that distinguish screen, processor, or regional versions.
Acer’s support page also provides a Windows serial-number detection utility. Use it when the label is hard to read, but verify the result against the model shown in Windows before downloading.

Download the correct Acer package
- On an internet-connected computer, open Acer’s Drivers and Manuals portal.
- Enter the target computer’s serial number, SNID, part number, or exact model. Select the result that matches the machine you will repair.
- Open the Operating System selector and choose Windows 11.
- Expand the Driver category. Look for a package named VGA, Graphics, or a vendor-specific graphics entry such as Intel.
- Read the package description and version information, then click Download. Save the complete installer rather than opening it directly in the browser.
The Windows 11 selector is an important compatibility check. It tells you whether Acer hosts a Windows 11 package for that model. If Windows 11 cannot be selected, Acer states that no Windows 11 driver is available on its website for that model and that Windows Update will download drivers automatically in Windows 11.
Why the exact model matters
Two Acer laptops with similar names can use different Intel graphics generations, discrete GPUs, display outputs, or hybrid-graphics controls. Installing a package meant for another suffix can leave the adapter undetected, break brightness controls, or interfere with automatic switching between integrated and discrete graphics. Model-specific selection prevents those mismatches.
Make an offline installer
The installer itself can be transferred and run without an internet connection on the target computer. “Offline” means the target PC does not need to download files during setup; the download still has to happen on an internet-connected computer first.

- On the connected computer, finish downloading the Acer graphics package and note where the file was saved.
- Connect a USB drive or use another permitted transfer method. Copy the downloaded executable or compressed package to it.
- Eject the transfer drive safely and connect it to the offline Windows 11 computer.
- Copy the package to a local folder such as
C:DriversAcerGraphics. Keeping a local copy avoids interruptions if the removable drive disconnects. - If the download is compressed, right-click it and choose Extract All. Open the extracted folder and locate
Setupor the vendor setup application. - Double-click Setup, approve the Windows permission prompt, and follow the installation screens. Restart when requested, even if the installer does not insist.
Acer’s installation instructions describe opening the downloaded files, locating Setup, approving the permission prompt, and completing the setup application. Do not shut down the computer while the display driver is being replaced; the screen can flicker or go temporarily black during the transition.
Verify that the driver installed
- Right-click Start and open Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters. The adapter should appear by its proper name instead of Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
- Right-click the adapter, choose Properties, and open the Driver tab.
- Check the provider, version, and date against the package information shown on Acer’s download page.
- Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display to confirm that the expected refresh-rate choices are available.
Test brightness keys, an external monitor, sleep and resume, and any GPU-switching control supplied with the model. A successful installation is more than a changed version number: the functions your model supports should work normally.
When Acer has no Windows 11 graphics download
If the operating-system menu does not list Windows 11, do not force a Windows 10 package onto the system solely because the names look similar. Acer’s stated fallback is Windows Update. Connect the computer to the internet, then open Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates. Optional driver updates, when offered, can be viewed under Advanced options > Optional updates.

Windows Update may install a Microsoft-provided or manufacturer-supplied driver suitable for the hardware. On an offline computer, temporarily connect through an approved network, allow Windows Update to complete, and disconnect afterward if the machine must remain offline. If no update appears, continue with the troubleshooting checks below rather than selecting a random package for another Acer model.

Intel graphics as a fallback
Many Acer systems use Intel integrated graphics. Intel provides two routes: a product-based download list and Driver & Support Assistant, which detects compatible Intel hardware automatically. Use the manual route when you know the graphics product; use the assistant when Device Manager or the model documentation is unclear.
Identify the Intel adapter
- Open Device Manager > Display adapters.
- Record the complete Intel adapter name. If Windows shows Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, open its Properties > Details tab, choose Hardware Ids, and record the first line.
- On an internet-connected computer, use Intel’s Windows 11 graphics-driver list or Driver & Support Assistant to locate a package for that product.
- Download the executable, transfer it to the target PC, and run it locally using the same offline procedure as the Acer package.
Intel describes its downloads as generic graphics drivers for general purposes. Intel also warns that computer manufacturers may change features, add customizations, or alter the driver software or packaging. That is why the Acer package remains the default for an Acer laptop, especially when the computer has switchable graphics, special hotkeys, a customized control panel, or an unusual display configuration.

Troubleshooting failed or missing installations
The download page shows the wrong model
Stop before installing. Recheck the serial number, SNID, part number, and model suffix. A close-looking result is not a safe substitute for an exact match.
Setup says the driver is not compatible
Confirm that Windows 11 is selected on Acer’s page and that the adapter listed in Device Manager matches the package. If Acer does not list Windows 11 for the model, use Windows Update instead. For an Intel fallback, verify the exact Intel product and Windows 11 support before retrying.

Wait several minutes and restart once, because the display driver can reset the graphics stack during setup. If the problem persists, enter Windows Recovery or Safe Mode, open Device Manager, roll back the display driver from Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver when available, and reinstall the matching Acer package.

Graphics appear under Microsoft Basic Display Adapter
The vendor driver is not active. Restart, check Device Manager > Display adapters for an error icon, and run Setup again from the locally copied folder. If the Acer package is unavailable for Windows 11, allow Windows Update to search. A generic Intel package should be considered only after confirming the hardware identity.
The installer requires internet access
The file may be a small downloader rather than a complete package, or it may need an online prerequisite. Try Acer’s full model-specific download again and copy the entire extracted folder, not only a shortcut. If the package still cannot operate offline, complete the installation while temporarily connected or use Windows Update as Acer’s supported fallback.
Features work poorly after an Intel generic install
Return to the Acer package when possible. Intel notes that OEMs can modify features and packaging, so brightness control, external displays, GPU switching, power behavior, or hotkeys may not behave identically with a generic driver. If no Acer Windows 11 package exists, keep the Intel driver only if the affected functions operate acceptably and Windows remains stable.

Use an ordinary Acer update when the current driver works and you are correcting a version, security, or compatibility issue. A clean reinstall is more disruptive and is appropriate when repeated updates leave corrupted files, Device Manager errors, or persistent artifacts after a failed installation. Before a clean reinstall, save the Acer package locally, create a restore point, and make sure you have a way to recover the previous driver. Do not remove a functioning display driver without a replacement ready on the computer.
Keeping an offline driver kit
After a successful installation, retain the downloaded package on a labeled USB drive and in a local backup. Record the Acer model, Windows edition, graphics adapter name, driver version, and download date in a text file. Keep the package that is known to work with that specific computer separate from drivers for other models. This turns a future reinstall into a local procedure instead of an emergency search for a compatible file.
