To stop spending in Monster Hunter Outlanders, use your phone’s store controls rather than an in-game menu. On iPhone or iPad, Screen Time can block in-app purchases completely or place them behind a separate passcode. On Android, Google Play can require authentication for every purchase, and parental controls can restrict what a child may buy. The official materials reviewed for Outlanders do not document a built-in monthly spending-limit setting.
Outlanders is a mobile hunting action game published by Garena under license from CAPCOM. Its Google Play listing, updated in 2026, rates it Teen and discloses “Users Interact, In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items).” The game’s user agreement says purchases are processed through the App Store or another payment platform, so the platform account is the dependable place to block or approve spending.

What you can buy in Outlanders—and why the platform setting matters
The Outlanders User Agreement says the service may offer in-game currency, character skins, mounts and vehicles, digital cards, experience boosts, gear and other customizations as virtual goods. Those transactions are not handled by a separate Outlanders payment system; they go through the app store or another payment platform. That means a restriction configured on the phone or store account can stop the transaction before it completes.

This statement in section 9(b) describes the status of virtual goods under the game’s terms. It does not prevent a purchase from charging the payment method attached to an Apple or Google account. Blocking or authenticating purchases is therefore a practical account-safety measure, especially when a child or another family member uses the device.
iPhone and iPad: block Outlanders purchases completely
Apple’s Screen Time controls can turn off in-app purchases for the device. The restriction is separate from the normal device-unlock code, so set a Screen Time passcode that the player cannot guess.
Turn on Screen Time and create its passcode
- Open Settings and tap Screen Time.
- If Screen Time is off, tap to turn it on.
- Choose the option to set a Screen Time passcode and create a code that is not shared with the child or other player.
If Screen Time is already enabled, you can go directly to the purchase restriction. Keep the passcode private: anyone who knows it can change the purchase setting.

Set in-app purchases to Blocked
- In Settings, open Screen Time.
- Tap Apps & Websites.
- Open App Store.
- Tap In-app Purchases.
- Select Blocked.
With this selection, an Outlanders purchase request should be refused by the device instead of being sent for payment. Apple describes Screen Time as able to prevent unauthorized purchases, require a password, restrict particular purchase types or turn purchasing off completely. Blocking is the strongest choice when you do not want any in-game transaction on that iPhone or iPad.

Use Ask to Buy when a child needs approval
For a child account in Apple Family Sharing, Ask to Buy provides an approval workflow. The child submits a purchase request, and the parent or organizer reviews it before the transaction proceeds. This is different from simply requiring a password: it lets the parent decide on each request rather than giving the player a credential that could authorize purchases independently.
Ask to Buy depends on the family account being configured correctly. Confirm that the child is using the intended Apple Account and that the parent or organizer receives approval requests. If you want a complete ban rather than individual review, leave In-app Purchases set to Blocked instead.
Android: require Google Play authentication
On Android, Outlanders purchases are processed through Google Play. Google Play’s purchase-authentication control is the main way to make every transaction require account verification. The exact labels and location can vary by Android version, country and account configuration, but the documented route is:

- Open the Google Play Store.
- Open the store Menu.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Authentication.
- Choose Require authentication for purchases.
- Select the option that requires authentication for all purchases on the device, when it is offered.
Authentication places a gate in front of the charge. It does not make the item free and it is not the same as disabling purchases: a person who can successfully authenticate the Google account may still complete the transaction. Use an account credential that the child does not have, and do not leave an already-authenticated payment session unattended.

Add parental restrictions for a child or teen
Google Play also provides parental-control settings that can limit content available for download or purchase. The available categories and controls depend on the child’s account, the device and the country. Review those restrictions in Google Play and choose limits appropriate for the child’s age and the family’s rules.
Parental restrictions and purchase authentication solve different problems. Restrictions narrow what can be downloaded or bought; authentication checks whether the account holder approves a transaction. Using both gives more protection than relying on either setting alone.
When the Android menu does not match
- Check that you are changing settings in the Google Play Store account used for Outlanders, not a different Google account on the phone.
- Look for an Authentication or purchase-verification section under Google Play settings; wording can differ by Android release.
- Review the device’s family or parental-control configuration if the player is a child or teen.
- If a setting is unavailable, the account’s region, age status or administrator policy may control which options Google displays.
Because Google changes menu names and account flows, verify the final setting by opening Outlanders and attempting to reach the purchase confirmation screen without completing a charge. A correctly protected account should request the configured authentication or stop at the parental restriction.

The official Outlanders materials reviewed do not document a user-facing monthly budget or monthly spending-limit menu. The User Agreement mentions that the service may communicate quantity limits or per-day transaction restrictions, but that wording does not establish a monthly budget tool that players can configure. The Google Play listing also does not describe one.

For that reason, do not assume that a monthly amount entered in a profile, shop or event screen will cap spending. Treat the Apple and Google controls as the dependable options for blocking or gating purchases. If a future Outlanders build adds a spending-limit feature, confirm that it appears in the live app’s settings and record the app version before relying on it; the current official documentation does not promise such a control.

Device scope versus family-account scope
A Screen Time purchase block is configured on the iPhone or iPad. If a child uses another Apple device, check the family and device settings there as well; the restriction you set on one device should not be assumed to cover every device automatically unless your family configuration synchronizes it.
Google Play controls are tied to the Google account and device context. A child may use more than one Android device or account, so verify the account used for each installation of Outlanders. Family-level controls can cover a child account across devices, but the exact scope depends on how that family group and those devices are configured.
How to verify that the restriction works
Do not test by completing a real purchase. Instead, check the control and stop at the confirmation stage.
- Confirm that the correct Apple or Google account is active on the device.
- Reopen the platform setting and verify that Blocked, Ask to Buy or Require authentication for purchases is still selected.
- Open Outlanders and navigate only as far as the purchase confirmation screen.
- On iPhone or iPad, a blocked purchase should be refused or unavailable. With Ask to Buy, a request should be sent for parent review.
- On Android, the purchase flow should request the configured authentication before any charge is authorized.
- Cancel the test before entering credentials or confirming payment.
If a purchase goes through without the expected gate, stop using the payment method on that device and recheck the account, Screen Time passcode or Google Play authentication setting. A different account, a second device or an already-authorized family setup may be controlling the transaction.
Common mistakes and fixes
Relying on the game’s shop settings
Outlanders’ documented terms describe virtual goods and possible service-imposed quantity or daily limits, not a guaranteed player-controlled monthly budget. Use the operating-system or store controls for the restriction you need.
Confusing authentication with a complete block
A password prompt is a checkpoint, not a ban. If the player knows the Apple, Google or device credentials, authentication may still authorize the purchase. Use iOS Blocked when you want no purchases on that device.
Using the wrong account
Purchase settings apply to the store account handling the transaction. Check the account shown in the App Store or Google Play before testing, especially on shared phones and tablets.
Assuming a child’s request is automatically approved
Ask to Buy is a review process. The parent or organizer must respond to the request. If the family setup is incomplete, the request may not reach the intended reviewer; verify Family Sharing and the child’s Apple Account.
Expecting identical menus on every Android phone
Google states that menu wording and available options vary by Android version, country and account configuration. Look for the purchase-authentication setting under Google Play’s settings and then confirm the result with a canceled test transaction.
