To remove search history from a Samsung phone, first identify where it was saved: Samsung Browser and Chrome keep their own browsing histories, while Google Search history is managed separately through the Google app and your Google Account. Clear each place you used; deleting one list does not automatically erase the others.

Delete visited pages from Samsung Browser
- Open Samsung Browser, called Samsung Internet in some support materials and app versions.
- Tap More options (the three-dot menu, where shown), then tap Settings.
- Go to Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data.
- Select Browsing history. Choose any other data types only if you also want to remove them: Samsung lists cookies and site data, cached images and files, passwords, and autofill data.
- Tap Delete data, then Delete to confirm. Samsung Support’s instructions note that clearing data may require you to log in to some websites again.
Menu names and icon placement can differ by app version, One UI version, and region. To remove only selected pages, open the browser’s history list and delete the entries you choose rather than clearing the full list. Samsung also documents video playback history as a separate list with its own deletion action. In Samsung Browser Secret mode, visited pages do not appear in the ordinary history list. Samsung Japan support says deleted history cannot be restored.

Clear browsing history in Chrome
- Open Chrome and tap More options (the three vertical dots).
- Tap Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
- Choose a time range and select the data types you want removed.
- Tap Clear data. See Google’s Chrome instructions.
Samsung Browser and Chrome have separate local browsing-data controls. If you used both, clear the relevant history in each browser.

Delete Google searches saved to your account
- Open the Google app and tap your profile picture or initial.
- Tap Search history.
- Delete an individual search from the activity list, or use Delete to choose an available option such as Delete all time, Delete custom range, or activity from a selected day.
Google says Search settings are being updated, so labels may not look identical in every app or account. If the documented path differs, use the account privacy controls currently shown in your Google app. Google warns that erased Search history cannot be recovered. Google Search Help.
Control what Google saves in the future
To change account-level activity saving on Android, open Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Data & privacy > Web & App Activity. You can turn this activity setting off. Choosing Turn off and delete activity also starts a separate flow to select and confirm activity for deletion. Google documents these controls.

Google Search history auto-delete choices listed in its help are 3, 18, or 36 months. These are account-history retention periods, not a way to clear local records in Samsung Browser or Chrome. Samsung says Samsung Internet does not support automatic deletion of its own browsing history; that history must be removed manually. - A visited website remains in suggestions: Check the browser you actually used; clear Samsung Browser and Chrome separately if needed.
- A Google query remains: Check Search history in the Google app and, if relevant, Web & App Activity in your Google Account.
- A recent query appears in the Google search bar: Use the Google app’s recent-search controls; this is not the browser’s history list.
- You searched while signed out: Google says searches in the Google app can be saved on the device. Account Search history deletion does not necessarily remove browser history, and browser cleanup does not itself erase account activity.
- You used Secret mode: Its history may not be visible in the ordinary browser history list; an empty list alone does not establish that every other kind of record has been removed.
Choose the control that matches both the storage location and the scope you want: an individual entry, a date range, all available history, or future account retention. Avoid selecting cookies, passwords, or autofill data unless you intend to clear those too.
