Select the webcam source in Streamlabs Desktop, resize it with a corner handle if needed, then hold Alt and drag a middle handle to crop an edge. Resizing changes the displayed size; cropping trims what is visible.
Crop a webcam source
- Select the source. Open your scene and click the webcam in the editor so its handles appear. If you have not added it, use Sources to add a Video Capture Device, then select your camera. Streamlabs’ setup guide explains adding sources.
- Resize or position it. Drag a corner handle to make the displayed camera larger or smaller, and move it into place in the scene. This does not crop away image from an edge.
- Crop the edge you need. Hold Alt and drag one of the middle handles inward. Keep the drag horizontal or vertical: Streamlabs notes that Alt-drag cropping cannot size the camera down diagonally.
- Check the scene. Review the webcam against your overlay and other scene elements, and adjust the crop or position if necessary.
These steps follow Streamlabs’ tutorial, “How to Crop Your Webcam in Streamlabs Desktop,” published July 14, 2022 and last updated March 25, 2026: official crop instructions.

Choose between cropping and resizing
- Resize when you want the whole camera image to appear larger or smaller. Use a corner handle.
- Crop when you want to remove part of the image along an edge. Hold Alt while dragging a middle handle.
The documented method is visual dragging; Streamlabs does not specify a numeric crop-value workflow in this tutorial.

Use a different webcam treatment in another scene
If you want different webcam framing or filters in different scenes, Streamlabs describes making separate scenes that use the same camera source, then adding those scenes where needed. That keeps scene-specific treatments separate; see Streamlabs’ guide to multiple scenes with different webcam filters.

Other sources and overlays
Streamlabs says the same general Alt-drag crop gesture can be used on game and window capture sources. A premium overlay is not required to crop a webcam: Streamlabs notes that free overlays are available, and overlays are optional design assets.
Or let it run in the cloud
Streamlabs Desktop cropping is a local scene-editing task. If what you need instead is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo runs that stream in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot streams what you upload up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
