To create an AI background for a product video, start with a clear photo or short clip, then choose the right edit: restyle existing footage, cut out the product and replace its background, fill the video canvas, or animate a still image. Check the finished video against the real product before publishing, especially its label, shape and color.
Choose the right source and background edit
Begin with a well-lit product photo or a short, steady clip. A clear subject separated from its surroundings gives editing tools a better starting point. CapCut’s image-to-video guidance also recommends avoiding tiny text that needs to remain readable.

- Restyle existing footage: use a prompt-guided video-to-video workflow to change the scene’s visual look.
- Remove and replace the background: isolate the product, then place it over a new scene.
- Fill or change the canvas: keep the video as it is and change the surrounding area with a color, pattern or image.
- Animate a still photo: use image-to-video to add movement to a product picture.

These providers describe different workflows, not a common benchmark. Their feature pages are vendor descriptions, so they do not establish which tool produces the most accurate result for a particular product.

For production workflows, Adobe also describes placing approved product shots into new scenes and standardizing packshots on its Firefly for enterprise page. That is a vendor-described capability, not independent verification that every generated frame will preserve product details.
Create the background and export the video
- Prepare the source. Choose a clear, stable product photo or clip. Make sure the product is visible and that any text that must be legible is large enough in the original.
- Choose the edit that matches the source. For a clip, decide whether you need a full-scene restyle, a product cutout with a replacement background, or a canvas fill. For a still image, use an image-to-video feature if movement is part of the goal.
- Describe or select the new scene. For a prompt-led restyle, specify the setting, lighting, mood and camera movement you want while keeping the product itself unchanged. For a replacement or canvas fill, select a background that supports the product rather than competing with it.
- Check the whole result. Preview the opening, middle and ending, and inspect any frames where the product moves or the background changes. Compare the result with the original for label text, shape, color and other details that identify the item. If a frame makes the product look different from the real one, revise the prompt, edit or source rather than publishing a misleading image.
- Set the destination framing. Choose the aspect ratio for the intended channel, then check that the crop keeps the entire product in view. CapCut documents resizing and cropping for platform aspect ratios. Avoid assuming one crop will suit every destination.
- Export and verify. Use the destination’s current resolution and format requirements. Adobe lists output up to 1080p and the upload limits shown in the table for its described workflow; check the live tool before export because interface limits can change.

Before using a generated background in an ad or product listing, check the provider’s current terms for your account, region and intended commercial use.
