Smart glasses usually pair through their maker’s companion app, with Bluetooth enabled on your phone. The exact steps depend on the brand and model. For example, Ray-Ban Meta glasses pair through the Meta AI app: put the glasses in pairing mode, then add them in the app. If they do not appear, or calls and audio fail after setup, use the brand-specific checks below.
Before you start
- Install the companion app specified for your glasses. Ray-Ban Meta setup uses the Meta AI app.
- Charge and switch on the glasses, and turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Keep the glasses near the phone while pairing.
These instructions use Ray-Ban Meta as an example; they are not universal steps for every smart-glasses brand. Check your glasses maker’s setup instructions if the app or controls differ. See the Ray-Ban Meta FAQ.

Pair Ray-Ban Meta glasses with your phone
- Make sure the glasses are charged and switched on, and Bluetooth is enabled on the phone.
- Place the glasses in their case. Hold the button on the back of the case for five seconds. A blinking blue light indicates pairing mode.
- Open the Meta AI app and choose Add device, then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Wait for the glasses to appear in the app. Ray-Ban says they may take up to ten seconds to show up.
What differs between iPhone and Android?
iPhone
If Ray-Ban Meta glasses already appear in iPhone Bluetooth settings, open the information control beside the glasses and choose Forget This Device before retrying setup in the Meta AI app.

Android
Ray-Ban says Android users do not need to forget an existing Bluetooth entry as part of this setup. Use the Meta AI app to pair. If calls or music do not work afterward, check that the glasses are connected for both calls and audio in Bluetooth settings.

If the glasses do not appear or pairing fails
Try these steps in order, checking the app after each one:
- Move the phone closer to the glasses.
- Confirm Bluetooth is on and the glasses show as connected.
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on.
- Close and reopen the Meta AI app. If the glasses are missing from the app, switch them off and back on as well.
- Restart both the phone and the glasses.
- If pairing still fails, unpair the glasses in the app, remove them from the phone’s Bluetooth device list, and pair again through the app.
If pairing succeeds but calls or audio do not work
On Android, open Bluetooth settings and confirm the glasses are connected for calls and audio. A device appearing in the companion app does not by itself confirm that these Bluetooth functions are enabled.
