JANCTION Render is a hosted service for rendering Blender scenes on JANCTION GPUs, exposed through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). A directory listing surfaces two different setup examples: Claude Code connecting over remote HTTP and Codex launching a local stdio server. Treat both as unverified examples, not guaranteed current instructions, and confirm the endpoint and syntax in JANCTION’s current operator documentation before using them.
What JANCTION Render does
The Official MCP Registry identifies io.github.JasmyLab-JANCTION/janction-render as a service for rendering Blender scenes on JANCTION GPUs. Its listing describes preview images, rendered frames, and MP4 video among the possible outputs. MCP lets compatible AI clients call tools exposed by a service; it does not itself guarantee that a particular client can access every local file or output.

A secondary directory lists https://render.janction.jp/mcp as the remote endpoint and gives setup examples for Claude Code and Codex. Because those command details are not confirmed by JANCTION’s operator documentation here, verify the endpoint, supported clients, and current instructions before connecting. Do not substitute setup instructions for Render.com: it is a separate service.
Choose a connection example
The surfaced examples use different transports. Claude Code’s example connects to a remote HTTP endpoint; Codex’s example starts a local stdio process using uvx. They are not interchangeable configurations, and the available listings do not establish how authentication or scene-file transfer works in either path.
#1 Best Overall
| Client example | Transport shown | Configuration location or command | Local runtime shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | Remote HTTP | Added with the claude mcp add command |
No local server runtime shown in the example |
| Codex | Local stdio launcher | ~/.codex/config.toml |
uvx and the janction-render package are shown |
The directory listings do not authoritatively specify authentication requirements, whether local files are uploaded automatically, or how a URL is handled. Check current JANCTION and client documentation for those details rather than inferring them from the transport label.
Claude Code: surfaced remote HTTP example
If JANCTION’s current instructions still confirm this endpoint and command syntax, the secondary directory’s example is:
Rank #2
claude mcp add --transport http janction-render https://render.janction.jp/mcp
- First confirm the endpoint and current Claude Code MCP command in JANCTION’s operator documentation and Claude Code’s current MCP instructions.
- Run the confirmed command in a terminal where the
claudecommand is available. - Use Claude Code’s current MCP management or status controls to check whether the server connects. The directory listing does not establish a definitive verification message or authentication flow.
This example configures a remote HTTP connection. It does not show a local stdio server, and the listing does not explain whether the service can read a scene file from your computer without an explicit upload or other transfer step.

Codex: surfaced stdio configuration example
The secondary listing gives this example for ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.janction-render]
command = "uvx"
args = ["--from", "janction-render", "janction-render-mcp"]
env = { JANCTION_RENDER_SERVER = "https://render.janction.jp" }
- Check JANCTION’s current operator instructions and Codex’s current MCP configuration guide for the supported package name, executable, environment variable, and server URL.
- If those sources confirm this approach, ensure the required
uvxruntime is installed and available to the process that launches Codex. - Add the confirmed server entry to
~/.codex/config.toml, preserving valid TOML syntax. - Restart or refresh Codex as its current instructions require, then use its MCP server controls to check connection status and available tools.
This example launches a local stdio process; it is not the same as Claude Code’s remote HTTP command. The listing does not establish how Codex supplies local scene files to the service, whether login or credentials are required, or what success output to expect.
Prepare a Blender scene and verify supported inputs
A secondary directory describes scene files and scripts as inputs, including .blend files and Blender Python scripts, and mentions other 3D scene formats. That is not an authoritative compatibility list. Confirm accepted formats, version constraints, file-size limits, dependencies, and transfer procedure with JANCTION before relying on a specific project.

- Ask the service how to provide the scene: local path, upload, URL, or another supported mechanism. Neither surfaced configuration example settles this.
- Check whether the scene depends on external textures, linked assets, fonts, add-ons, or scripts, and whether those dependencies must be included separately.
- Confirm which render settings can be requested and which outputs are returned. Registry information describes previews, frames, and MP4, but does not define exact settings or guarantees.
What remains unconfirmed
The available registry and directory listings do not establish current pricing, quotas, GPU capacity, availability guarantees, authentication details, or exact supported input formats. They also do not confirm that the surfaced commands remain valid. Consult JANCTION’s current operator documentation for these service details, and the respective clients’ current MCP instructions for configuration and troubleshooting.

For service identity and broad output capabilities, see the Official MCP Registry. The surfaced endpoint and configuration examples are from secondary directory material; they should be checked against primary operator documentation before use.
