To connect an Epson projector wirelessly, first check its exact model: some have wireless LAN built in, while others require a compatible Epson wireless LAN module. Then choose either a direct connection to the projector or a connection through your Wi-Fi access point. Use Epson iProjection or Miracast only if both the projector and your sending device support that method.
Check whether your Epson projector supports wireless projection
Find the model number on the projector’s label or in its menu, then open its Epson support page and user guide. Confirm whether wireless LAN is built in, whether the model needs an optional module, and which computers or mobile devices it supports. A module that fits one projector may not fit another; use the part specified for your model rather than buying one based on a general Epson recommendation. Epson’s wireless projection guide and wireless network projection instructions explain the available paths, but the model’s own manual determines what works.

Epson describes iProjection as free to download in the cited guidance; app-store communication charges may still apply.

| Method | How it connects | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Direct, with Simple AP | The projector creates a wireless access point for a supported device to join. | The projector must support Simple AP, and the sending device must support the chosen method, such as iProjection Quick Connection Mode or Miracast. |
| Through a wireless access point | The projector and sending device connect to the same appropriate Wi-Fi network; iProjection Advanced Connection Mode may be used where supported. | Confirm that both devices are on the intended network and that the model supports network projection. |
| Miracast screen mirroring | A compatible device mirrors its screen to a projector that supports Miracast. | Miracast support is required on both ends; it is not available on every phone, computer, or projector. |
Epson describes the difference between direct and access-point connections in its wireless projection connection methods guide. Menu labels and supported modes vary by model.

Connect directly using Simple AP
- On the projector, open its Network settings and enable Simple AP or the equivalent direct wireless mode. Follow the model’s instructions for any security or passphrase setting.
- On the sending device, use the supported connection flow. In iProjection, select Quick Connection Mode if the model supports it; for Miracast, use the device’s screen-mirroring controls.
- Select the projector. If prompted, enter the displayed passphrase or PIN.
The projector’s display and menu names are model-specific. If Simple AP or Quick Connection Mode is not listed, consult the exact model manual rather than assuming the feature is available.
Connect through your Wi-Fi network
- Use the projector’s Network settings to connect it to the wireless access point. Select the network name and enter its credentials if prompted.
- Connect the computer or mobile device to the corresponding network.
- Open Epson iProjection and use Advanced Connection Mode if the model supports it, then select the projector.
Epson’s EB-805F wireless setup FAQ provides one model-specific example; its menu sequence should not be treated as universal. The projector’s user guide is the authority for the exact steps on other models.

Use Miracast from a Windows laptop or mobile device
Windows example: EB-810E and EB-815E
For the EB-810E/EB-815E, Epson’s guide describes this Windows 10/11 procedure:
- Enable Screen Mirroring in the projector’s network settings.
- Change the projector’s source to Screen Mirroring.
- On the laptop, press Windows+K and choose the projector.
- If prompted, enter the PIN shown on the projector.
These steps are specific to the EB-810E/EB-815E guide, not a universal Epson menu path. See the EB-810E/EB-815E User’s Guide and check whether your own Windows computer and projector support Miracast.
Rank #3
- Lightweight and travel friendly - thin as a laptop; weighs just 4 lb
- Look for two numbers - 3,200 lumens Color Brightness for more accurate, vivid color and 3,200 lumens White Brightness for well-lit rooms
- Sharp images - WXGA resolution (1280 x 800); offers 2x more resolution than SVGA for HD-quality presentations;Projector is compatible with PC and Mac computers
- Includes a high-speed LAN module for wireless connectivity
Phone or tablet
If both devices support Miracast, put the projector on its Screen Mirroring standby screen, open the phone or tablet’s Miracast or screen-mirroring function, search for the projector, and select it. Enter the displayed PIN if requested. The name and location of this function differ by device; check its documentation if you cannot find it. Apple AirPlay and other phone casting methods are not interchangeable with Miracast unless the projector explicitly supports them.
Fix common wireless connection problems
- The projector does not appear: Check that wireless LAN power and the relevant projection mode are enabled. Make sure you are using the intended route—direct Simple AP or a shared access point—and, for network projection, that both devices are on the expected network.
- It disconnected or will not reconnect: Restart the sending device and wait briefly before trying again. Then confirm the projector remains in the correct mode.
- The image is weak or unstable: Reduce the distance and obstacles between devices. Move potential sources of interference, such as Bluetooth devices or microwaves, away from the connection, and reduce the number of connected devices if performance declines.
- Miracast works but some content does not: Compatibility limits depend on the model and content. Epson’s EB-810E/EB-815E guide, for example, warns that some resolution and frame-rate combinations may fail, and that its screen-mirroring mode does not support 3D video, interlaced images, audio above three channels, or some copyright-protected content. Those restrictions are specific to that guide, not necessarily every Epson projector.
For model-specific connection checks, consult the Epson wireless network projection User’s Guide as well as your projector’s own manual.

Will wireless projection work for streaming video?
Do not assume it will. Epson’s cited guides say iProjection is not recommended for streaming video, and the EB-810E/EB-815E guide notes that protected content may not display through Miracast. If streaming is your main use, check the projector’s supported inputs and the streaming service’s device requirements; wireless presentation projection may not provide a reliable way to play that content.
