Netflix games do not all use the same controls. On a TV, players use a phone or tablet linked by QR code; computer browser games use a keyboard and mouse or, for some titles, a phone or tablet. Physical gamepads are not supported for Netflix’s TV game experience. Some downloaded mobile games do support Bluetooth controllers, but compatibility depends on the title.
How controller support differs by platform

Use a phone or tablet as a controller for TV games
- On a supported TV or streaming device, open the Netflix app, choose a profile, and select Games.
- Launch a game that offers Play Game. The QR code may appear after the game’s launch screen.
- On the phone or tablet, scan the code with its camera and follow the link to connect. Each player needs their own phone or tablet.
For Android, Netflix says the controller device needs the Netflix app installed. For iPhone and iPad, the guide specifies iOS or iPadOS 17 or later and the Netflix Game Controller app. The connecting device does not need to be signed in to a particular Netflix account. Follow the prompts after scanning; Android may ask you to install Netflix and scan the code again. See Netflix’s phone or tablet controller guide.

Netflix says TV play requires the Netflix app, a stable internet connection, and the TV’s original remote. It recommends download speeds of 10 Mbps or higher; that is a recommendation, not a minimum-speed guarantee. If Games does not appear in the TV app, check Netflix’s live device requirements for supported devices and eligibility.
If the QR code will not connect
- Move closer to or farther from the code, tap the screen to focus, and try the device’s native camera app.
- If the page says camera access is off, allow camera access in the phone or tablet’s settings.
- If the controller disconnects, turn the device screen back on. If disconnections continue, try turning off a VPN or switching between Wi-Fi and cellular.
Play Netflix games in a computer browser
Open Netflix.com in Chrome or Edge and launch the game. The available input depends on the title: Netflix says some games use a keyboard and mouse or trackpad, while others let you connect a phone or tablet by scanning a QR code shown during launch. Its TV and computer guidance does not establish physical gamepad support for browser play, so check the individual game’s instructions rather than relying on an Xbox or PlayStation controller. Connect a Bluetooth controller to a mobile game
Mobile-game support is separate from the TV and browser experience. Netflix’s Highwater support page says Xbox and PlayStation wireless controllers are officially supported for that game over Bluetooth, and that other controllers may work. Netflix’s TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge support page also describes Bluetooth controller use alongside on-screen controls.
These are title-specific examples, not a promise that every Netflix game accepts a gamepad. Before connecting, check the support page for the exact game and confirm it names Bluetooth or your controller. Do not buy a controller on the assumption it will work with Netflix games generally, or with TV and browser play.

Find and adjust accessibility settings in a game
Accessibility options vary by title. Open the game’s Settings or Options menu, and check any How to Play instructions or the game’s Netflix support page. Look for controls, subtitles, visual aids, color settings, and other options by their menu names; not every game offers the same features.

Netflix says the game’s settings include aim assist, button layouts, and camera sensitivity, while subtitles and other visual aids can be enabled in game menus. The game does not have traditional difficulty settings; aim assist and the other available settings can help tailor play. Details are on Netflix’s game settings and accessibility page.

The Queen’s Gambit Chess

Netflix service accessibility is a separate layer
Netflix’s service-level accessibility features include screen readers, assistive listening systems, audio descriptions, and customizable subtitles and captions. Those features concern the Netflix service and do not mean every game has the same features built in. See Accessibility on Netflix.

Check availability before troubleshooting
Netflix describes TV and computer games as a beta and says they are not available in every country or on every device. Availability and compatibility can change, so use the current country and device guidance rather than relying on an old list. Controller requirements can also differ by game and may change with updates.
