Does Sifu mobile support a Bluetooth controller?
Yes. The official Google Play listing and Apple App Store listing for Sifu both describe the mobile release as having “full controller support.” That means the game is designed to accept a physical gamepad in addition to its touch controls. Pairing is handled by Android, iOS, or iPadOS rather than by a special Sifu pairing page.
The listings do not publish a guaranteed controller whitelist, model-by-model compatibility table, button-remapping guide, or universal fix for every phone. A controller can therefore be compatible with the operating system yet still need a restart, a different input mode, or a wired connection before Sifu recognizes it.

Platform requirements shown by the stores
| Platform | Controller-support evidence | Published device requirement | Other listing detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android | Google Play describes Sifu as having full controller support. | The supplied listing does not state one universal Android version or chipset requirement. | The Android package is com.keplerinteractive.sifuthegame; the listing is shown as updated in October 2026. |
| iPhone | Apple’s listing also describes full controller support. | iOS 18.0 or later and an A17 Pro chip or later. | Availability and compatibility still depend on the specific iPhone model and current App Store listing. |
| iPad | Apple’s listing describes full controller support. | iPadOS 18.0 or later with an M-series or A17 Pro chip. | The iPad must meet the listed operating-system and chip requirement before controller troubleshooting is meaningful. |
Store requirements can change. Check the current listing on the device you intend to use, particularly if you are installing after a game or operating-system update.
Before pairing: prepare the phone, tablet, and controller
A clean pairing state prevents most “Sifu does not detect my controller” problems. Complete these checks before opening the game.
- Charge or wake the controller. A low battery can leave the controller’s light on while its Bluetooth radio fails to complete a connection.
- Disconnect its previous host. If the gamepad is still connected to a console, computer, tablet, or another phone, it may not advertise itself to the device you are trying to use. Turn off Bluetooth on the old host, disconnect the controller there, or use the controller’s documented forget/reset procedure.
- Keep the devices close together. Pair with the controller a short distance from the phone or tablet and avoid testing through a bag, dock, or thick case.
- Install pending updates when practical. Update Sifu and the mobile operating system before troubleshooting. A game update can change input handling, while an operating-system update can fix Bluetooth discovery or accessory behavior.
- Close other controller-aware apps. Remote-play, mapping, accessibility, or game-launcher apps can capture input before Sifu starts.
Do not launch Sifu yet. Some mobile games enumerate controllers only when they start, so pairing first gives the game the best chance to see a clean, already-connected device.

Step-by-step: connect a Bluetooth controller to Sifu
1. Put the controller in Bluetooth pairing mode
Turn on the controller and hold its pairing button, or the documented button combination for that model, until its status light indicates discovery. The exact combination varies by controller and is not specified in Sifu’s store listings, so use the hardware manufacturer’s instructions for this step.
A steady light often means the controller is already connected to another host, while a flashing or changing light commonly indicates pairing mode. Treat the controller’s own status indicator as the authority; do not assume that pressing the power button alone makes it discoverable.
2. Open Bluetooth settings on Android
- Open Settings.
- Open the Bluetooth page. Depending on the Android version and manufacturer, it may be under Connected devices, Connections, or a similarly named section.
- Turn Bluetooth on and remain on the device-discovery screen while the controller is in pairing mode.
- Wait for the controller’s advertised Bluetooth name to appear under available devices.
Android may display a pairing request or PIN prompt. Follow the prompt shown by the phone; do not guess a code if the controller’s documentation specifies one. After pairing, stay on the Bluetooth page until the device is labeled Connected, not merely Saved, Paired, or Remembered.
3. Open Bluetooth settings on iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings > Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Leave the page open while the controller is flashing its pairing indicator.
- Tap the controller’s name under Other Devices or the equivalent discovery section.
- Wait until it moves to My Devices and shows Connected.
If iOS or iPadOS shows a confirmation dialog, approve it. If the controller appears as a remembered device but does not connect, tap its entry and use the operating system’s forget option, then place the controller back into pairing mode and pair it again.

4. Launch Sifu only after the system connection is active
Once the operating system says the controller is connected, close Settings and start Sifu. The official listings do not describe a separate Sifu pairing screen. You should therefore not wait for a controller option inside the game before completing the operating-system pairing.
If Sifu was already open while you paired the controller, close it completely and relaunch it. On some mobile games, controller enumeration occurs only during startup, so a running copy can continue to behave as if no gamepad exists.
5. Verify input before beginning a run
Use a safe menu, tutorial, or training moment rather than testing during a difficult encounter. Confirm each class of input:
- Left-stick or directional movement.
- Camera movement on the right stick or the controller’s assigned camera input.
- Attack input.
- Dodge and parry inputs.
- Menu navigation, selection, and back/cancel.
Do not infer that a single working button means every input is mapped correctly. A controller can connect at the system level while one or more controls are unavailable, duplicated, or assigned differently than expected.

Work through the checks in order. Each branch isolates a different failure: Bluetooth discovery, an active connection, game startup, or controller compatibility.
When the controller never appears in Bluetooth settings
- Confirm that the controller is actually in pairing mode, not simply powered on.
- Disconnect it from every console, computer, or other mobile device within range.
- Turn Bluetooth off and on in the phone or tablet’s settings, then repeat discovery.
- Power-cycle the controller and the mobile device.
- Move closer and remove temporary interference from a dock or case.
- Try the controller’s documented reset or clear-pairings procedure, then pair it as a new device.
If a second known-compatible Bluetooth gamepad appears immediately, the first controller’s pairing state or hardware is the likely cause. If no controller appears, focus on the phone or tablet’s Bluetooth settings rather than Sifu.
When the controller is listed but says “Saved” or “Paired,” not “Connected”
Tap the device entry and wait for the connected state. A remembered relationship does not mean that the controller is currently providing input. If connection fails, forget the device on the phone or tablet, restart both devices, and pair again while the controller is freshly in discovery mode.

Check that another host has not reclaimed the controller between the moment it appears and the moment you tap it. This is common with gamepads that automatically reconnect to a recently used console or computer.
When the operating system says “Connected” but Sifu ignores input
- Close Sifu completely from the recent-apps view or the operating system’s app controls.
- Verify the controller still says Connected in Bluetooth settings.
- Disconnect any second controller or input accessory.
- Relaunch Sifu with the gamepad already connected.
- Test movement and menu navigation in a safe area.
If the game still ignores input, restart the phone or tablet and repeat the launch sequence. Then update Sifu and the operating system if updates are available. The store listings confirm full controller support but do not promise that every Bluetooth model or every controller mode will work identically.
When some buttons work but movement, camera, or combat does not
First test the controller in another game or in the mobile device’s controller test screen, if the operating system or hardware utility provides one. This separates a game-specific mapping issue from a faulty stick, trigger, or button.
Next, check whether the controller has multiple input modes. Some gamepads advertise different modes for different operating systems. Select the mode intended for Android or Apple devices according to the controller’s manual, then forget and re-pair it. Sifu’s listings do not publish a required mode name, so do not assume that a mode labeled for a console will present the same controls on a phone.
Do not begin a serious run until the camera, movement, attack, dodge, and parry inputs all respond. If one essential action remains unavailable, use another controller or a wired fallback rather than relying on an incomplete mapping.

- Charge the controller fully and retest.
- Keep the phone or tablet within normal Bluetooth range and avoid covering the controller’s radio area.
- Disable automatic connections to the old host, or turn Bluetooth off on that host.
- Close apps that may be competing for controller input.
- Restart Sifu after reconnecting instead of assuming the running session will re-enumerate the device.
If the controller repeatedly drops while another game remains stable, record the model, operating-system version, and Sifu version. The official listings do not provide model-specific fixes, so those details are necessary when contacting the controller maker or game support.

A USB-C wired controller can be useful when Bluetooth discovery or radio stability is the problem. This works only if the phone or tablet supports USB host accessories and the controller presents an input mode recognized by that operating system.

- Compatible with Android devices and fits mobile devices ranging from 100mm to 170mm in length.
- Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light and tactile.
- 2 Pro back paddle buttons
- Profile button. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings. Turbo function.
- Connect the controller directly to the device’s USB-C port, or use an appropriate data-capable adapter if the controller uses another connector.
- Unlock the phone or tablet and wait for the operating system to recognize the accessory.
- Close and relaunch Sifu after the wired connection is active.
- Test movement, camera, combat, and menus in a safe area.
A charging-only cable will not carry controller data. Wired play also adds a physical cable that can interfere with a phone grip or movement, so treat it as a diagnostic and practical fallback rather than proof that every Bluetooth mode is supported.
Controller choice: what to check before buying or borrowing one
Sifu’s official listings establish support for physical controllers, not a universal model list. When comparing gamepads, check the following specifications against your exact phone or tablet.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →| Check | Why it matters for Sifu mobile | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Bluetooth compatibility | The controller must be discoverable and maintain a connection with your Android device, iPhone, or iPad. | Look for explicit support for your operating system and current OS version. |
| Input mode | A controller can connect while exposing an input layout a game does not use correctly. | Check whether it offers an Android, Apple, XInput, MFi, or equivalent mode and follow its manual. |
| Phone mounting and ergonomics | Touch controls and a gamepad place different demands on hand position and screen visibility. | Confirm that a built-in clamp or separate grip fits your phone, case, and viewing angle. |

| Battery and reconnection behavior | A controller that sleeps quickly or reconnects to another host can appear to fail at launch. | Check battery capacity, sleep settings, and whether it can remain paired reliably while Sifu is running. |
No particular controller model is guaranteed by the Sifu listings. Treat any claim that a specific gamepad is guaranteed to work as requiring verification in that model’s own compatibility documentation.
Android and iPhone/iPad differences that affect setup
Android
Android manufacturers place Bluetooth controls in different parts of Settings. The labels may read Bluetooth, Connected devices, or Connections, but the required state is the same: the gamepad must be actively connected before Sifu launches. The Google Play listing identifies the package as com.keplerinteractive.sifuthegame and shows an October 2026 update, so use the current store version rather than an old sideloaded build when troubleshooting.
iPhone and iPad
Apple’s listing specifies iOS 18.0 or later with an A17 Pro chip or later for iPhone, and iPadOS 18.0 or later with an M-series or A17 Pro chip for iPad. If the device does not meet those requirements, controller troubleshooting cannot make the Sifu mobile release compatible. On a supported device, use Settings > Bluetooth, wait for Connected, and launch the game afterward.
A reliable launch checklist
- The controller is charged and not connected to another host.
- The controller’s pairing indicator is active when you search.
- The phone or tablet shows the controller as Connected, not merely remembered.
- Sifu was launched after the connection was established.
- Movement, camera, attack, dodge, parry, and menus were tested safely.
- Sifu and the operating system are up to date where practical.
- A second Bluetooth controller or USB-C wired controller is available if the first one remains unreliable.
When to stop troubleshooting and change the setup
Change the controller or connection method when the phone repeatedly loses the device, when essential inputs never map correctly, or when the controller works only after repeated resets. The official listings confirm broad controller support but do not identify every supported model or guarantee a particular button layout.
For a clean diagnosis, test one controller at a time, pair it in system settings, launch Sifu from a fully closed state, and record the device model, mobile operating-system version, game version, and exact symptom. That information distinguishes a Bluetooth pairing failure from a game-startup or compatibility issue.
