When the 2026 Trick-or-Treat event runs
Gameloft’s 2026 Trick-or-Treat event is scheduled for October 14 through October 31, 2026. Its Candy Bowl schedule changes on the final day, so the best collection routine depends on the date.

A complete Plaza sweep on a normal event day therefore produces up to four red, four purple, and four green candies from the scheduled two bowls of each color, for 12 candies in total. That is a calculation from the published spawn and bowl contents; the number of candies you actually have can differ if you missed earlier spawns or left bowls in the Plaza.

The event’s official wording is straightforward: “Candy can be eaten or gifted to complete Event Duties.” You need both uses for a clean completion, so do not consume your entire stock immediately after collecting it.

The most efficient daily route
Use the same order each time. It minimizes backtracking and keeps the color-specific meal requirement safe.
1. Start with a full Plaza sweep
Walk through the entire Plaza and collect every visible Candy Bowl. Check for all three colors rather than stopping after finding one or two. The bowls are the most predictable source because their normal cadence is once every 24 hours from October 14 through October 30.
Collecting first also prevents the five-bowl cap from working against you. If five bowls of a color are already present, additional bowls of that color cannot remain in the world. Clearing the Plaza before the next spawn check gives the game room to add the next scheduled set.
2. Visit the six Trick-or-Treat houses
After the Plaza, check the homes of Mickey Mouse, WALL•E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski, and Jack Skellington. On an eligible day, a lit Jack-o’-Lantern appears outside a house. Interact with that lantern to start the special Trick or Treat interaction.
Make all six stops before leaving the Valley. These interactions advance both house-related duty tracks, and completing them as one circuit is faster than revisiting individual houses later.
3. Check your color reserve before spending candy
Open your inventory and make sure you still have at least one red, one green, and one purple candy. Do this before gifting or eating anything. The three-course Halloween meal specifically requires eating all three colors, so an accidental all-red or all-purple spending spree can leave that duty waiting for the next spawn cycle.
4. Gift candy to 10 different villagers
Use the candy-gifting duty on 10 different villagers. Keep a simple mental or written list of recipients; giving several pieces to the same villager is an easy way to spend candy without making clear progress toward the ten-villager requirement.
You can complete these gifts during normal travel. After the six house stops, give one suitable candy to each of 10 villagers you have not yet counted, then confirm that the duty counter advances.
5. Complete the three-course meal
Eat one red, one green, and one purple candy after you have protected those three pieces. The meal duty is color-based, not a request for three identical sweets. If the three colors are in your inventory, eating exactly one of each is the safest way to register it without consuming more than necessary.

6. Eat toward Sugar Rush milestones
Once the meal reserve is no longer needed, eat candy until the Sugar Rush milestones at 15, 30, and 45 sweets are reached. Treat these as cumulative progress thresholds and watch the duty tracker after each batch rather than assuming a single large use will register correctly.
The meal candies may also advance a general eating counter if the game applies both duties to the same action, but the published duty description does not specify overlap behavior. Checking the counter in-game is safer than planning around an unconfirmed interaction.
7. Run the mask and pumpkin duties in parallel
Wear one mask while performing the route for “Villainy Wears Many Masks.” At the same time, harvest pumpkins for “Stockpiling Pumpkins” until its 100-pumpkin requirement is complete. These are parallel chores: there is no reason to make a separate candy run solely for them.

How to handle the candy economy without running out
Protect the three meal colors first
The minimum safe reserve is one red, one green, and one purple candy. Put those aside mentally or in a dedicated inventory position before you start giving gifts. The reserve is small, but it is the only part of the plan that depends on specific colors.
Budget gifts separately from eating milestones
The gifting duty consumes candy, while Sugar Rush consumes candy through eating. Keep the 10-villager target visible and stop gifting once the counter reaches 10. Then use the remaining stock for the 15-, 30-, and 45-sweet eating milestones.
If you are trying to complete all candy duties, the listed targets represent up to 10 gifted pieces, three meal pieces, and 45 eaten pieces. The actual number of candies you must collect can be lower if the meal actions also count toward Sugar Rush, because the duty description does not establish whether those counters overlap. Do not assume overlap until the in-game counters confirm it.

From October 14 through October 30, two bowls of each color appear every 24 hours. Missing a check does not turn the schedule into an unlimited stockpile: the five-bowl cap for each color still applies. If you return after several missed days, clear every bowl you see and then resume daily checks.
House interactions: the six locations and milestone math
The house duties count Trick-or-Treat interactions, not the number of candies you collect. Look specifically for the lit Jack-o’-Lantern outside the six named homes:
- Mickey Mouse
- WALL•E
- Daisy
- Stitch
- Mike Wazowski
- Jack Skellington
One complete round can therefore advance the house counters by as many as six interactions when all six lanterns are available. The first track, Sweet ‘n’ Scary, awards milestones at one, two, and three interactions. The second, Scarily Sweet, awards milestones at five, 10, and 20.

Because six interactions are available in a full daily round, 20 total interactions require at least four complete rounds if every listed house is available each time: six on the first day, six on the second, six on the third, and two on the fourth. That is a planning calculation, not a promise that every player will see all six lanterns at every check; interact with each lit lantern you actually find and use the duty counter to verify progress.
Make October 31 your catch-up and farming day
October 31 changes the Candy Bowl cadence from every 24 hours to every hour. That makes repeated Plaza checks worthwhile, especially if you still need Sugar Rush progress or additional candy for gifts.
- Clear all visible bowls at the start of your play session.
- Complete a house and villager loop while the next hourly spawn window approaches.
- Return to the Plaza and collect the new red, purple, and green bowls.
- Repeat the loop, keeping the one-of-each-color reserve intact until the meal duty is complete.
The five-bowl cap still applies to each color, so leaving bowls on the ground can prevent you from benefiting fully from the hourly cadence. If you are farming the final day, frequent short checks are more efficient than one long visit followed by several hours away.

Players who want every listed Trick-or-Treat duty should use this order to reduce rework:
- Equip one mask before doing anything else so “Villainy Wears Many Masks” can be completed passively while you travel.
- Sweep all three Candy Bowl colors in the Plaza.
- Visit the six homes and interact with every lit Jack-o’-Lantern.
- Reserve one red, one green, and one purple candy.
- Give candy to 10 villagers you have not previously counted.
- Eat one candy of each reserved color to complete “A 3-Course Halloween Meal!”
- Eat additional candy until Sugar Rush reaches 15, then 30, then 45 sweets.
- Harvest pumpkins during the same session until “Stockpiling Pumpkins” reaches 100.
- Check every duty counter before ending the session and note which house milestone is next.
This sequence puts the only color-sensitive action before unrestricted eating and combines travel-heavy requirements into one route.

Eating every candy immediately
Problem: The Sugar Rush counter advances, but the three-course meal cannot finish because one color is missing.
Fix: Stop eating, collect the next Plaza spawn, and keep one red, one green, and one purple candy untouched until the meal duty registers.
Giving candy to too few villagers
Problem: Ten pieces have been spent, but the Trick or Treat counter is below 10 because recipients were repeated.
Fix: Switch to villagers who are not on your completed-recipient list. Confirm the counter after each gift and stop once it reaches 10.

Checking only one or two houses
Problem: Sweet ‘n’ Scary and Scarily Sweet progress is slower than expected.
Fix: Use the complete six-house list every day: Mickey Mouse, WALL•E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski, and Jack Skellington. Only a lit Jack-o’-Lantern starts the special interaction.
Ignoring the five-bowl cap
Problem: An expected spawn is not visible, particularly after several missed checks.
Fix: Walk the entire Plaza and collect every bowl of the affected color. The event cannot hold more than five bowls of one color at once, so uncollected bowls can block additional stock.

Leaving the pumpkin duty until the end
Problem: All candy duties are complete, but 100 pumpkin harvests remain.
Fix: Wear the mask and harvest pumpkins during ordinary Valley travel from the first event session. The requirement is a separate parallel duty and does not depend on candy.
How to verify that the event is actually complete
Before you stop playing, open the Event Duties list and check each counter rather than relying on the reward animation alone. Confirm:
- Sugar Rush has passed 15, 30, and 45 sweets.
- Trick or Treat shows 10 villagers.
- A 3-Course Halloween Meal! records red, green, and purple candy.
- Villainy Wears Many Masks records the mask requirement.
- Stockpiling Pumpkins records 100 harvested pumpkins.
- Sweet ‘n’ Scary has reached three house interactions.
- Scarily Sweet has reached 20 house interactions.
If a counter has not moved, repeat the exact qualifying action while watching the tracker. For house duties, interact with the lantern itself; for the villager duty, use a recipient you have not already counted; for the meal, eat the missing color rather than another candy of a color already registered.
Best overall strategy in one sentence
Clear the Plaza, complete the six-house circuit, preserve one candy of each color, gift to 10 different villagers, finish the three-color meal, then eat toward 45 while wearing a mask and harvesting pumpkins; on October 31, repeat the Plaza check every hour and keep the five-bowl cap from blocking spawns.
