Compare one Visualping change in the Difference Modal
- Open the Visualping alert and select View Changes. Alternatively, open the relevant monitor in the dashboard and select its change-notification thumbnail. Either route opens the Difference Modal. See Visualping’s Navigating Alerts.
- Check which version you are viewing: Current is on the left; Previous is on the right and appears dimmed.
- Look at the highlights. Green indicates added text; red indicates deleted text. Use the changes list to jump to a listed addition or deletion.
- Drag the blue handle in the center left or right to compare corresponding areas of the captures. Click the image to open it in a new tab or download it when you need a closer look.
Make a busy comparison easier to read
A page with many edits can make the overlay hard to scan. Use the changes list to go directly to a specific addition or deletion, and toggle the text-added or text-deleted layers to hide the category you are not reviewing. Move the slider across the relevant area to check whether the highlighted text reflects a meaningful visual change in its surrounding page context.

The Difference Modal suits close inspection of one alert. Choose a report when you need to review a date range, more than one monitoring entry, filtered changes, or a shareable summary. Report options let you include or omit the Current and Previous captures and Markup. Choose the filter appropriate to the task: the report workflow offers important or alert-triggering changes as well as all changes. Labels may vary as Visualping updates its interface.

- Open or generate a report for the monitoring activity you want to review.
- Set the date range and select the monitoring entries that matter.
- Choose whether the report should show Current and Previous captures, Markup, or both.
- Apply the changes filter, then review the report.
- To find an earlier report, open the report’s History tab and look it up by name or date.

Troubleshoot a change that looks unexpected
The alert does not match the change you expected
Check the monitor’s Check History and confirm that it ran after the site changed. If the check occurred before the change, the alert cannot represent that later state.

The screenshot does not show the change
A screenshot represents the rendered page capture, not every code-level or backend change. Visualping describes visual, text, and code change detection as distinct aspects of its service. Check the alert details and the relevant monitoring history rather than treating a screenshot as proof that no non-rendered change occurred.

The comparison is difficult to inspect
Use the changes list to jump to a specific edit, toggle added or deleted text layers to reduce overlay clutter, and drag the center handle over the area of interest. For a broader review, use a report with the desired date range and filter instead of relying on one alert view.
