To screenshot a page that requires a login, pass the screenshot API a current session cookie that is valid for the target site, use the cookie format that API expects, and wait until the protected content has rendered. Then inspect the returned image: a successful API response can still show a login page or an error instead of the page you intended to capture.
Before you send a cookie
Use a cookie only for an account and site you are authorized to access. A screenshot API cannot infer your browser’s logged-in session from a URL; you must supply a credential the site accepts. The reviewed provider documentation explains how to pass credentials, but does not prescribe a universal process for logging in and obtaining them. Cookies are one option, not a universal solution. Match the credential to the target’s authentication mechanism and use the syntax documented by your chosen screenshot service.

Capture an authenticated page with Cloudflare Browser Run
Cloudflare’s documented screenshot endpoint is https://api.cloudflare.com/client/v4/accounts/<accountId>/browser-run/screenshot. Its REST example sends the target URL and a cookies array containing the cookie’s name, value, domain, and path. Replace the placeholders below with your account ID, API token, authorized target URL, and current cookie. The API token authenticates your request to Cloudflare; the session cookie authenticates the browser to the target site. They are separate credentials.

Check cookie scope and validity
Set the cookie’s domain and path to match the host and URL path it is intended to cover. A cookie for another domain or a narrower path may not accompany the request. Preserve the attributes and serialization required by the provider you use. Cookie syntax from one API should not be copied blindly into another.

A page can navigate successfully before its JavaScript application has loaded the account data. Cloudflare recommends waiting for network idle or for a known selector. Its documented gotoOptions.waitUntil options include networkidle0 and networkidle2. Where a stable element identifies the authenticated content, waiting for that selector can be more useful than waiting for all network activity to stop, especially when the page keeps long-lived connections open. Use the cookie format required by the API
Cookie representations differ between providers. Cloudflare’s example uses structured JSON fields: name, value, domain, and path. ScreenshotOne’s guide instead demonstrates its expected formatted cookie string, including cookie name/value and attributes such as domain, path, HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite. Follow the provider’s current instructions for the request method you are using, including any URL-encoding requirement. Do not reuse the guide’s embedded sample session value as a credential. Verify the capture rather than trusting the response
Inspect the image for the expected account or page content. An image response alone does not establish that authentication succeeded: it may contain a login form, an access-denied message, or a partially rendered application. If the wrong page appears, first check the cookie value and scope, then check whether the target allows the provider’s access. If the page is merely incomplete, adjust the render wait rather than assuming the cookie is invalid.

Cloudflare says Browser Run requests remain identifiable as bot traffic; changing the user-agent does not bypass bot protection. Credentials do not override a site’s policy or automation defenses. Troubleshoot common failures
