Public visibility on Telegram is not blanket permission to scrape or reuse channel posts. Telegram says public-community content is accessible to everyone, but its terms restrict automated collection for many purposes, including building large datasets or AI products. If you have a legitimate, limited need to organize posts, first confirm that your collection method and intended use comply with Telegram’s terms, respect channel protections, and meet applicable legal requirements.
What “public” means on Telegram
Telegram says posts in public communities are accessible to everyone. Public channels have usernames and links, and new subscribers can see the channel’s entire message history. Those facts describe visibility; they do not grant unrestricted permission to collect, archive, republish, or analyze posts.

Can you scrape a public Telegram channel?
It depends on the collection method and purpose, but public access alone is not enough to establish that scraping is allowed. Telegram’s Bot Developer Terms limit collection, storage, aggregation, and processing through its Bot Platform to what is essential to the bot’s service. They specifically prohibit scraping public group or channel contents to create large datasets, machine-learning models, or AI products.

Telegram’s Bot Developer Terms say: “Always prohibited uses include any form of data collection aimed at creating large datasets, machine learning models and AI products, such as scraping public group or channel contents.”
Telegram’s Content Licensing Terms also restrict access to user-generated content for purposes outside the ordinary, legitimate, intended use of the platform. They prohibit scraping, indexing, harvesting, aggregating, or using Telegram data to develop, enhance, benchmark, or deploy AI or machine-learning systems, except where Telegram grants an exception based on individually obtained, informed, affirmative, continued consent scoped to the relevant content and context. The terms include a limited exception for data needed to operate a legitimate third-party Telegram client, bot, or Mini App that complies with the applicable requirements; that is not a general scraping permission.

Before using a no-code scraper
The available official information does not establish which no-code scrapers currently support Telegram, what fields they collect, or how they handle authentication, exports, rate limits, or deletion. So there is no verified tool recommendation or universal click-by-click recipe here. A tool’s technical ability to retrieve posts does not make the collection or later use permitted.

Before proceeding, check these points:
- Purpose: Do not use a bot-based workflow to scrape public channel or group contents for large datasets, machine-learning models, or AI products. For other purposes, assess whether the collection is genuinely within Telegram’s permitted use and limited to what is essential.
- Method and terms: Read the current terms for the service and tool you plan to use. Telegram’s API Terms place privacy and transparency duties on third-party client developers; they include obtaining an API ID for the application, disclosing Telegram API use, and supporting official sponsored messages if the app accesses channel content. These developer obligations are not a consumer scraping tutorial.
- Channel protections: Do not bypass restrictions. Channel owners can enable content protection that controls copying, forwarding, screenshots, and saving media. Telegram says messages from protected groups or channels must be treated as protected even if a particular message flag is absent.
- Data handling: If your collection is permitted, minimize what you collect and retain, protect it, and define when it will be deleted. Telegram’s terms and privacy policy, as well as applicable law, may impose additional duties.
- People and reuse: Consider whether your planned storage, analysis, or publication affects the people who posted or appear in the content. Permission to view a post is not, by itself, permission to republish it or use it for a different purpose.

Subscribe to the channel in Telegram. Telegram says new subscribers can view the entire channel history, so you may not need a separate archive to catch up on earlier posts.

Analyze content you control
If you need posts for a report or dataset, seek permission from the channel owner and any relevant rights holders, and confirm that your collection and use comply with Telegram’s terms and applicable law. Permission from a channel owner does not automatically resolve every rights or privacy issue.

Build a Telegram bot or client
If you are developing a bot, Mini App, or third-party client, follow the requirements that apply to that product rather than treating a no-code scraper as a shortcut. Telegram’s Bot FAQ notes that bots are third-party services, not Telegram products, and that bot developers may receive data when users interact with their bots.
