The safest way to clean a Secretlab TITAN Evo is to identify its upholstery first, remove loose dirt with a soft brush, treat spills immediately, and use only a cleaner made for that material. Leatherette can be wiped with a lightly damp cloth; SoftWeave fabric should be blotted rather than rubbed; NAPA leather needs prompt spill absorption and regular conditioning; microsuede, Alcantara and Dinamica accents should be kept away from water. Always let the upholstery air-dry completely before sitting on the chair.
The TITAN Evo is sold with several upholstery families, and a method that is safe for one can damage another. Use the material guide and procedures below instead of treating every chair as though it were vinyl or ordinary fabric.

Identify the upholstery before using water or cleaner
Check the product listing, order details or the upholstery label to determine whether your chair uses NanoGen Hybrid Leatherette, NEO Hybrid Leatherette, PRIME 2.0 Leatherette, SoftWeave or SoftWeave Plus fabric, genuine NAPA leather, or an accent such as microsuede, Alcantara or Dinamica. Secretlab’s aftercare guidance treats these surfaces differently because their pores, coatings and fibers react differently to moisture and friction.

If a chair combines materials, follow the stricter instruction for each panel. For example, do not use a leatherette cleaner on a SoftWeave insert or a wet cloth on a microsuede accent.

Gather the right supplies
- Vacuum cleaner with a clean, soft brush attachment.
- Several clean, undyed microfiber cloths.
- Dry absorbent cloths or plain paper towels for fresh spills on fabric or leather.
- For leatherette: a dedicated leatherette or leather cleaner. Secretlab’s aftercare instructions describe spraying a small amount onto a microfiber cloth, not directly flooding the chair.
- For stubborn SoftWeave Plus spots: a dedicated fabric upholstery foam cleaner approved for that fabric.
- For NAPA leather: a high-quality leather conditioner.
- A bowl of clean water for lightly dampening a cloth when the material permits it.
Do not use printed paper towels on microsuede, Alcantara or Dinamica; ink can transfer. Avoid abrasive brushes, scouring pads, bleach, solvents, household degreasers and any product whose label does not say it is suitable for the upholstery in front of you.
The safe cleaning sequence for a TITAN Evo
1. Remove loose dirt before introducing moisture
Disconnect the chair from anything that could snag, move it to a well-ventilated area and inspect seams, piping and creases. Vacuum every upholstered panel with the soft brush attachment. Move slowly enough to lift dust, crumbs and hair without grinding them into the surface. Secretlab specifically cautions that a soft brush helps prevent scratches on leatherette or leather.
2. Deal with a spill immediately
Fresh liquid is easier to remove than a dried ring. On leatherette, use a clean cloth that is only slightly damp with water and wipe the affected area; do not leave the surface wet. On SoftWeave, NAPA leather or other absorbent surfaces, press a dry absorbent cloth or plain paper towel onto the spill to lift liquid. Replace the cloth as it becomes wet.

Do not rub a fabric stain. Friction drives liquid deeper and can spread the mark. Do not use hot water on fabric: Secretlab warns that heat can set a stain, making later removal harder.

3. Apply the cleaner that matches the upholstery
For deeper leatherette cleaning, put a small amount of dedicated leatherette cleaner on a clean microfiber cloth and gently wipe the upholstery. Applying product to the cloth gives you control over the amount and keeps liquid out of seams and perforations. Work in small sections, turning the cloth to a clean face as dirt lifts.
For a stubborn mark on SoftWeave Plus, place a small amount of dedicated fabric foam cleaner on a clean microfiber cloth and wipe in a circular motion. Use this foam only on the appropriate SoftWeave Plus fabric; Secretlab does not recommend that foam for most SKINS covers or for unrelated upholstery. If you cannot confirm that a panel is SoftWeave Plus, stop and use dry blotting while you verify the material.
4. Air-dry fully before using the chair
Leave the chair uncovered in moving air until every cleaned panel feels completely dry. Do not sit on damp upholstery, cover it with a blanket while moisture remains or apply a hair dryer or heater. Pressure and heat can trap moisture, spread a ring and stress coatings or fibers. Once dry, inspect the area in normal light before deciding whether another gentle pass is needed.

These leatherette families are water-resistant and intended to be easier to wipe than fabric. That resistance is not a license to soak the chair: liquid can still enter stitching, zippers and gaps around the cushions.

Everyday dust and marks
- Vacuum with the soft brush attachment, including seams and the underside of removable cushions.
- Dampen a microfiber cloth lightly with clean water and wring it so it is not dripping.
- Wipe the dirty panel with gentle, overlapping passes. Rinse or replace the cloth instead of redistributing grit.
- Leave the upholstery exposed until it is fully air-dry.
Grease, buildup or an older mark
Use a dedicated leatherette cleaner as described in the four-step sequence. Test a hidden section first if the product label calls for a spot test, and stop if the finish changes, becomes tacky or transfers color to the cloth. Never substitute bleach, alcohol-heavy disinfectant, furniture polish or an abrasive melamine sponge.
How to protect leatherette
Keep food, drinks and sharp objects away from the chair where practical, and wipe a spill as soon as it occurs. A clean, dry surface is the main protection; leatherette in this group does not require the periodic leather conditioning specified for NAPA leather. If you use a protective product, it must explicitly be compatible with synthetic leatherette and should be applied sparingly after cleaning and drying.
Cleaning SoftWeave and SoftWeave Plus fabric
SoftWeave is more breathable than leatherette, but its fibers can hold a stain. The priority is extraction without spreading: lift loose soil, absorb liquid and avoid heat and friction.
Routine dust and crumbs
Vacuum regularly with the soft brush attachment. Pay special attention to the seat-back junction, armrest edges and seams where particles collect. A brush attachment is preferable to a bare vacuum nozzle, which can pull at the weave or concentrate suction on one spot.

Fresh liquid
- Press a dry absorbent cloth or plain paper towel onto the spill.
- Lift straight up and repeat with a dry section until little moisture transfers.
- Allow the fabric to air-dry; do not rub, scrub or use hot water.
Stubborn SoftWeave Plus spots
After removing loose dirt and absorbing as much liquid as possible, apply a small amount of dedicated fabric foam cleaner to a clean microfiber cloth. Wipe the spot in a circular motion, keeping the work area limited to the SoftWeave Plus fabric. Do not spray foam over leatherette, NAPA leather, microsuede, Alcantara, Dinamica or a SKINS cover. Let the panel dry completely and reassess it before repeating a treatment.
What not to do
- Do not scrub in an attempt to reach the bottom of a stain.
- Do not pour water directly onto the seat or backrest.
- Do not use hot water, steam or a heated dryer.
- Do not assume a fabric cleaner is safe on every textile or on decorative graphics.
Cleaning and conditioning NAPA genuine leather
NAPA leather has natural surface pores, so Secretlab describes it as not water-resistant. Treat a spill as urgent, especially on a seat cushion where pressure can drive liquid into the hide.
Spill response
- Immediately press a dry absorbent cloth onto the liquid. Do not wipe outward from the center and do not scrub.
- Once the excess is absorbed, use a microfiber cloth that is only slightly damp with water to gently wipe the area.
- Vacuum remaining dust with the soft brush attachment.
- Air-dry naturally and keep weight off the panel until it is completely dry.
Conditioning schedule
Secretlab’s care PDF recommends a high-quality leather conditioner often, or at least once every three months, to keep genuine leather fresh and supple. Apply only a conditioner intended for finished NAPA leather, follow that product’s directions and use a clean cloth. Conditioning is separate from cleaning: remove soil first, let the leather dry, then condition. Do not use leather conditioner on leatherette, SoftWeave, microsuede, Alcantara or Dinamica unless the product maker explicitly approves it.

These materials need the most conservative approach. Keep them away from water. For loose dirt, wipe against the grain with a dry microfiber cloth. Blot a spill promptly with a dry, clean cloth and avoid printed paper towels, whose ink can transfer.

If a mark remains, use a specialist solution made for the exact material and follow its label. Do not improvise with fabric foam, leather cleaner, soap or a damp cloth. Because the fibers and finishes differ, stop if the nap changes direction, the color lifts or the surface becomes shiny.
Washing TITAN Evo SKINS covers
SKINS are removable covers, not upholstery that should be cleaned in place. Secretlab’s aftercare guide states: “Always remove Secretlab SKINS from your TITAN Evo chair before washing.”
- Remove the SKINS cover completely from the chair before putting it near a washing machine.
- Close all zippers and turn the cover inside out.
- Machine-wash cold on the gentle or delicate cycle.
- Tumble-dry on low.
- If needed, iron on low heat, keeping the iron away from decorations.
Do not dry-clean or bleach SKINS. Secretlab also does not recommend its SoftWeave Plus foam cleaner for most SKINS dirt or stains. Check that the cover is fully dry before reinstalling it so moisture is not trapped against the chair.

Protect the chair between cleanings
Control the sources of dirt
- Keep drinks in a stable container with a lid when possible.
- Remove abrasive objects, pens and tools from pockets before sitting down.
- Keep pets from scratching or chewing the upholstery.
- Use a desk mat or floor protection so tracked-in grit is less likely to reach the chair.
Use a simple inspection routine
During ordinary use, look at the seat edges, armrests, headrest area and seams for crumbs, dye transfer, cracking or a damp ring. Vacuum when you see loose soil rather than waiting for a heavy buildup. Immediate attention is especially important for SoftWeave, NAPA leather and water-sensitive accents.
Separate covers from the chair
When a SKINS cover is installed, remove it for its own cold gentle wash instead of applying upholstery foam to the chair. When cleaning a TITAN Evo panel, keep zippers, controls and exposed foam as dry as possible.
Troubleshooting common cleaning problems

When to stop cleaning and seek help
Stop home treatment if the upholstery is torn, the coating is peeling, a seam has opened, color continues to transfer, a chemical cleaner has caused a finish change, or moisture has reached internal foam and will not dry. Photograph the affected area, note the material and product used, and contact Secretlab support for material-specific advice. Continuing to scrub a damaged coating usually creates a larger repair than the original stain.
