For light dust, keep the LEGO PlayStation assembled, set it on a stable level surface, and use a clean, soft-bristled brush with gentle strokes. Avoid liquid while dusting and take extra care around small details and any loose pieces. If grime needs washing, LEGO’s official guidance is for cleaning pieces by hand—not for washing the assembled display.
Dust the assembled model without disturbing its details
PlayStation’s official US listing identifies the model as LEGO PlayStation set 72036, with 1,911 pieces, removable display dioramas and a console more than 10.5 inches wide. Its many small details make a gentle, low-contact approach sensible.

- Stabilize it. Place the model on a level surface with room to work. If you need to reposition it, hold the sturdy base or a broad structural section rather than a small attached detail.
- Start at the top. Work downward so loosened dust falls onto areas you have not yet cleaned.
- Brush lightly. Use a clean, soft-bristled brush over studs, seams and detailed areas. Keep strokes gentle; do not push into gaps or catch small elements.
- Use a cloth only where appropriate. On broad, accessible smooth surfaces, a soft cloth can be used gently.
- Protect loose parts. If a piece is loose, support it with a finger while brushing nearby, or leave that area until you can handle it securely.
This brush routine is cautious practical advice based on the model’s detail and LEGO’s general soft-cleaning guidance; LEGO does not specify it as a procedure for dusting this assembled model.

For grime, clean pieces by hand rather than washing the intact display
Dusting and washing are different tasks. LEGO’s official cleaning advice applies to LEGO pieces cleaned by hand. Its guidance does not recommend washing this assembled display, and joined elements may not be effectively cleaned. If grime calls for washing, disassemble the model and clean the pieces individually.

LEGO’s hand-cleaning guidance
LEGO recommends hand-cleaning pieces with water no hotter than 104°F / 40°C and a soft cloth or sponge. Mild detergent may be added; rinse the pieces well with clear water afterward. Let them air-dry away from direct sunlight.
Keep sensitive components dry
For electronic components or other sensitive pieces containing metal, LEGO advises wiping with a cloth moistened with water and mild detergent without perfume or oil. Do not submerge or spray these parts.
