For a silicone case, OtterBox’s cleaning article specifies warm, soapy water. These are general instructions, not a model-by-model protocol; if your case has specialized construction or its own care instructions, follow those instructions if they differ.

How to clean the case
- Remove the case from the phone. Clean the case separately rather than washing it while it is on the device.
- Wash it with mild soap and water. If it is silicone, OtterBox describes using warm, soapy water.
- Dry it gently. Let the case air-dry or dry it lightly with a paper towel, as OtterBox’s FAQ advises. Make sure it is dry before putting it back on the phone.
OtterBox’s article, dated March 5, 2026, lists a microfiber cloth, soapy water, and a toothbrush as supplies for cleaning a phone, but explicitly says those items are for the phone only, not the case. It separately recommends warm, soapy water for a silicone case. Do not treat the phone-cleaning tool list as required case-cleaning equipment.
