To claim a League of Legends Twitch Drop, connect your Riot Account to Twitch, watch a live stream listed in the active Drops campaign, reach that campaign’s watch-time requirement, and press Claim in Twitch Drops Inventory. Then launch League of Legends while the accounts remain linked so Riot can deliver the reward.
Eligibility, watch time, regions, rewards, and claim deadlines are set separately for each campaign. The January 2026 Riot campaign used as an example below required one uninterrupted hour of eligible live viewing in a single channel; its reward could be claimed for seven days after the campaign ended.

- A Riot Account that owns or can access League of Legends.
- Access to Twitch Drops in your region. Campaign availability can vary by location and by Twitch support.
- A current browser or Twitch app with ad-blocking extensions disabled if watch progress does not advance.
- The correct Riot Account credentials. Linking the wrong account is the most common reason a claimed reward does not appear in game.
You do not need to buy a headset, webcam, capture card, game item, subscription, or physical League merchandise. A campaign’s rules determine whether any paid action has a role; the normal claim process is based on eligible viewing.

Link your Riot Account to Twitch
Linking is required for reliable in-game delivery. Do it before you start watching so progress and the eventual reward are associated with the intended account.
- Sign in to Twitch.
- Open your profile menu and choose Settings.
- Open the Connections tab.
- Scroll to Riot Games and select Connect.
- Sign in to the Riot Account you use for League of Legends.
- Review the authorization request and approve it.
- Return to Twitch’s Connections page and confirm that Riot Games is shown as connected.
Do not assume that being signed in to the League client links the accounts automatically. Twitch and Riot must show the connection explicitly. If several people use the same computer, sign out of both services first and then authenticate the intended accounts.
Check the linked account before earning
Open Twitch Settings → Connections again whenever you are unsure which Riot Account is attached. If the displayed connection is wrong, disconnect it only after noting which Twitch account is signed in, then reconnect using the correct Riot credentials. Avoid repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting while a campaign is in progress unless necessary; the safest approach is to verify the account before watching.
Find a League stream with Drops enabled
Not every League of Legends broadcast earns Drops. Use Twitch’s campaign page rather than choosing a channel based only on its title.
- Open Twitch’s Drops & Rewards area.
- Choose an active League of Legends campaign.
- Read the campaign rules, including the watch-time threshold, eligible program or channels, region limits, reward, and claim deadline.
- Select a participating channel from the campaign’s channel list.
- Confirm that the channel displays a Drops callout at the top of chat. Riot says this callout and the campaign’s participating-channel list identify eligible broadcasts.
A channel can stream League without being part of the campaign. If the channel is not listed for the campaign or has no Drops indication, watching it will not satisfy that campaign’s requirement.

Watch live and build progress
Keep the eligible stream playing live for the exact duration shown by the campaign. Requirements are event-specific; they are not a universal League rule.
The January 2026 example
In Riot Games’ January 8, 2026 Season Start: For Demacia! emote campaign, the stated requirement was to watch one hour of any eligible LPP streamer’s livestream during the campaign window. Riot also said, “You must reach one full hour in totality in a single channel for the ‘Lightshield Stonks’ emote.” The hour therefore had to accumulate in one participating channel, not by combining partial viewing across several channels.

That example was not region-locked, but it was available only in places where Twitch Drops were supported. Its conditions should not be treated as the requirements for every later event.
Monitor the timer
- Open Twitch’s Drops & Rewards page and select Drops Inventory.
- Locate the League campaign and watch its progress percentage or timer.
- Leave the eligible live stream in the foreground or in a normal active browser session while progress is being recorded.
- Refresh the inventory if the percentage appears stale, but do not switch between several participating channels while trying to accumulate the same reward.
Riot says only one participating channel can accrue progress at a time for the cited campaign. Twitch campaign rules can also limit simultaneous progress. Watching multiple League channels does not reliably speed up earning and may leave the timer attached to only one of them.
What can stop progress
- Ad-blocking: Riot says ad-blocking extensions can prevent watch-time progress from accruing. Temporarily disable them for Twitch, reload the stream, and check the inventory again.
- Ineligible channel: A League category stream without the campaign’s Drops callout will not count.
- Wrong campaign: Make sure the inventory entry and the channel belong to the same active campaign.
- Multiple channels: Return to one listed channel and remain there until the requirement is complete.
- VOD or replay: The January 2026 Riot event did not count VOD viewing. A replay can look like a live broadcast but still fail the campaign’s rule.
- Campaign ended: Once the campaign window closes, additional viewing normally cannot create new progress. Read the event’s end time in Drops & Rewards.
Claim the reward at 100%
Reaching 100% earns eligibility; it does not always transfer the item immediately. Claim it through Twitch.

- Wait until Drops Inventory shows 100% for the League reward.
- Use the Twitch claim notification if one appears, or open Drops Inventory and select Claim beside the completed reward.
- Confirm that the status changes from progress or available to claimed.
- Keep the Riot–Twitch connection intact while delivery is processed.
Claim windows are finite. In the cited January 2026 event, Riot allowed claims for seven days, or 168 hours, after the campaign ended. Twitch’s general Drops guidance says inventory rewards disappear after six months, but an individual campaign can impose a much shorter deadline. Claim as soon as the reward reaches 100% instead of relying on the longer general retention period.

After Twitch confirms the claim, open League of Legends using the Riot Account connected in Twitch. Delivery may not be instantaneous; allow time for the game service to synchronize.
- Close and reopen the League client if it was already running when you claimed the Drop.
- Sign in with the Riot Account verified under Twitch Settings → Connections.
- Check the collection or notification area appropriate to the reward type, such as emotes for an emote Drop.
- If it is still absent, recheck the linked account and the campaign’s claimed status before contacting support.
Twitch’s help guidance states that the game account must be linked for in-game delivery. If the reward remains missing after the account check and a reasonable synchronization delay, use the game publisher’s support route rather than claiming the same reward repeatedly.
How campaigns differ
Read every campaign’s rules because a previous event does not establish the next event’s conditions. Use this comparison checklist when deciding whether a stream will count.

If a rule is not shown in the current campaign, treat it as unknown rather than borrowing a condition from an older event. In particular, do not infer that VODs, subscriptions, gifted subscriptions, or simultaneous channels will count.

Troubleshoot a League Twitch Drop that is not appearing
The progress bar stays at zero
- Verify that the channel is listed under the active campaign and shows the Drops callout.
- Confirm that you are watching live, not a VOD or replay.
- Disable ad-blocking extensions for Twitch and reload the page.
- Stop other participating streams and watch one eligible channel.
- Reopen Drops Inventory and allow a short synchronization interval before judging the timer.
If the campaign has ended, no further viewing can repair missing time. Check the event’s end time and whether the reward is still claimable.
The stream is eligible but only one channel gets credit
This is expected behavior under Riot’s one-channel-at-a-time rule for the cited event. Choose the channel where you want to finish the requirement and leave the others. Twitch may also apply its own simultaneous-campaign limits, so opening several streams is not a dependable workaround.
The reward reached 100% but there is no claim button
Refresh Drops Inventory, check for a Twitch claim notification, and verify that the campaign’s claim period is still open. A completed reward can become unavailable after the campaign deadline. The January 2026 example allowed seven days after the event, not an unlimited period.
Twitch says it was claimed, but League does not show it
- Return to Twitch Settings → Connections.
- Confirm that the connected Riot Account is the one used in League.
- Launch or restart the League client with that account.
- Check the relevant collection and notifications after synchronization.
- If the account is correct and the item is still missing, contact the publisher through its support route and include the campaign name, Twitch claim status, and connected-account details requested by support.
Do not disconnect the correct account merely because delivery is delayed; first establish which account received the claim.

Expired claims generally cannot be restored by watching more hours. Campaign deadlines differ, and Twitch’s general six-month inventory statement does not override a shorter event-specific deadline. Future campaigns should be claimed immediately at 100% to avoid this failure.
Common questions about League Twitch Drops
Do League Twitch Drops work on VODs?
Not necessarily. Riot’s January 2026 campaign explicitly excluded VOD viewing. Check the current campaign’s rules and watch a listed live channel when live viewing is required.
Can I combine time from several channels?
Only if the campaign explicitly permits it. Riot’s cited campaign required one full hour in a single channel, and progress accrued on only one participating channel at a time.
Do I have to subscribe or gift a subscription?
No paid action is required for the normal viewing-based claim described here. A campaign may publish separate rules, but never assume a subscription substitutes for watch time unless the event page says so.
Why does linking matter if Twitch already shows the reward?
Twitch can record a claim while the game account is linked incorrectly or not linked at all. The connection tells Riot where to deliver the item, so verify it before watching and again when troubleshooting.
How long should delivery take?
The supplied official guidance does not promise a fixed number of minutes. Restart the League client, verify the connected Riot Account, and use the publisher’s support route if the claimed item remains absent.
