The original Xbox release was produced by Panache Digital Games and published by Private Division. It is a third-person open-world survival game set in Neogene Africa, where a clan explores, crafts tools, learns abilities, avoids predators, and passes knowledge to later generations. That identity matters when searching the store: look for the Xbox game rather than assuming a similarly named PC listing or an add-on is the upgrade.

- Identify the owning account. If the store still shows a price
A paid button on launch day can have several explanations. Work through the checks below in order and keep the original license intact while you investigate.
The wrong Microsoft account is signed in
Sign out of any guest or secondary profile and return to the account that bought or redeemed the Xbox One game. If the purchase was made by another household member, that person should perform the store check first. A console that contains the game is not necessarily the console owner’s account.
The store is showing the Xbox One product
Open the edition or platform selector and look specifically for the Series X|S entry. The remaster may be a separate product record rather than an update button on the older listing. Avoid buying the first result until you have confirmed its platform label.
The listing has not refreshed
Close the Store application, restart the console, and search again after the announced release window. Store catalog changes can appear later than the first regional launch time. If the page still does not recognize the license, check the publisher’s launch instructions and Xbox Support before making a second purchase.

A physical disc is not being recognized
Insert the Xbox One disc into the Series X console and wait for the console to identify it. The Series S has no disc drive, so a disc-only license cannot be tested there unless the publisher provides a digital entitlement. - Confirm which Microsoft account owns the Xbox One license by checking the account’s purchase history.
- Record whether your copy is digital, disc-based, bundled, or tied to another edition.
- Update the Series console’s system software and leave enough storage for a second installation if the remaster is listed separately from the Xbox One game.
- Keep the original disc available if you own a physical copy, especially if you plan to test on a Series X.
- Bookmark the publisher’s support page and Xbox Support so you can compare the store result with the final launch instructions.
- Do not uninstall a working Xbox One installation until you have confirmed that the Series X|S version downloads and starts.
How this differs from ordinary backward compatibility
