What you receive when you claim the bundle
Claiming adds a digital entitlement to the Microsoft account used during redemption. There is no transferable product key in the normal installation flow. If you sign in with a personal account and later switch the Store or Xbox app to a different account, the games can appear to be missing even though the PC itself is eligible.
Microsoft’s digital-goods rules associate PC Game Pass access and other digital rights with the Microsoft account. For titles marked Xbox Play Anywhere, a compatible Windows PC and Xbox One or Xbox Series console can use the entitlement, subject to the title’s licensing terms. A game may be played on only one device or console at a time under those rules; Play Anywhere does not mean unlimited simultaneous play.
Before you start: eligibility and account checklist
- Qualifying hardware: Confirm that the exact Windows 11 PC model or SKU is listed as eligible. Two computers sold under a similar family name can have different promotions.
- Correct market: Check the country or region set in Windows and in Microsoft Store. Availability can vary by region.
- Activation: Complete the initial Windows 11 setup on the new PC and connect it to the internet. Do not postpone activation if the promotion requires first activation before redemption.
- Microsoft account: Decide which account should own the games. Use that account in Microsoft Store, and use the same account in the Xbox app when it asks you to sign in.
- Storage and requirements: Review each game’s system requirements and available drive space. Large PC games can require substantial downloads, and the Store can hide or block installation on incompatible hardware.
- Time: Note the claim deadline shown on the offer card. A purchase date alone does not prove that the entitlement was redeemed.
Step-by-step: claim the included games
- Finish first-run setup. Start Windows 11, complete the out-of-box setup, connect to a reliable internet connection, and allow Windows to finish its initial updates. Restart if Windows requests it.
- Open Microsoft Store. Select Start > Microsoft Store. If Store asks you to sign in, use the Microsoft account that should receive the licenses. Avoid claiming with a work, school, or family account unless that is the account you intend to keep using.
- Open the gaming area. In Microsoft Store, select Gaming. Look for the included-games offer or a claim/get control attached to the device promotion. The wording can differ by PC and region.
- Claim the device offer first. Select the offer’s Claim, Get, or equivalent control and complete any confirmation screen. This step records the entitlement against the signed-in Microsoft account; merely seeing a game tile does not necessarily claim it.
- Keep the account consistent. When the Xbox app opens or prompts for access, sign in with the same Microsoft account. If the Store and Xbox app show different account addresses, stop and correct the mismatch before installing.
- Confirm the licenses. Return to Microsoft Store and select Gaming > Library. Depending on the Store version, the page may be labeled My Library. Claimed games should appear as owned, included, or available to download rather than requiring a purchase.
Step-by-step: install a claimed game
- Open your library. In Microsoft Store, select Gaming, then Library or My Library.
- Find the title. Locate a game that has not been installed. Microsoft’s Store guidance says an app or game with a Download icon has not yet been downloaded.
- Select Download or Install. Choose the download icon or Install. If the Store offers a drive selector, choose a drive with enough free space and note the destination.
- Check compatibility prompts. If the button is unavailable, read the message instead of attempting repeated downloads. The Store may be enforcing a processor, graphics, operating-system, age-rating, or regional requirement.
- Wait for the download. Keep the PC online and avoid signing out of Store during installation. You can monitor progress in the Store library or downloads view.
- Launch from the installed location. After installation, start the game from Microsoft Store, the Xbox app, or the Windows Start menu. The first launch may require an additional sign-in, update, or content download.
Microsoft describes Xbox games bought through its services as digital downloads that can be installed or reinstalled from the Store library or Order history. If you remove a claimed game later, you should not need to buy it again while signed in to the owning account.

Using the Xbox app instead of Microsoft Store
The Xbox app can be the launch point for some included titles, but ownership still depends on the Microsoft account used for redemption. If the app shows a purchase price after you claimed the device offer, compare the account address in the Xbox app with the address in Microsoft Store before paying or attempting another claim.
For a title carrying the Xbox Play Anywhere designation, check the game’s product information for the supported Windows and Xbox versions. The designation can extend use to compatible Xbox consoles, but it does not remove device compatibility checks, regional restrictions, or the one-device-at-a-time rule.
If the included offer or Install button is missing
Work through these checks in order. Each addresses a different reason a legitimate offer may not appear.

1. Verify the signed-in account
Open Microsoft Store account settings and the Xbox app profile, then compare the email address or account name. Sign out and back in with the account intended to own the games. A family member’s account, a work account, or a second personal account can make an eligible PC look unlicensed.
2. Check region and availability
Microsoft says Store availability can vary by country or region. Confirm the Windows region and Store region match the market in which the eligible PC was sold. A title can also be absent because its release or license is not available in that region.
3. Confirm the hardware and deadline
Recheck the offer card, receipt, or manufacturer documentation for the exact SKU. The reported 2026 promotion is limited by retailer, market, and dates. If the claim window has closed, reinstalling Store or changing accounts will not recreate the offer.

4. Update Store, Xbox, and Windows
Install pending updates for Microsoft Store and Xbox, then restart Windows. Microsoft lists a restart as a remedy when a recently updated PC cannot install Store apps. Reopen both apps after the restart and check the library again.
5. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
If Microsoft Store will not open or the library remains blank, press Windows + R, enter wsreset.exe, and press Enter. A command window may appear briefly; wait for Microsoft Store to reopen, then sign in and search the library again. This resets Store cache data without deleting your Windows account or installed games.

6. Check compatibility, family settings, and title availability
Microsoft identifies compatibility, family settings, and regional availability as reasons an app or game may not appear. Review the game’s system-requirements panel, confirm that parental controls are not filtering it, and check whether the exact edition in the bundle is offered in your region.
7. Escalate with evidence
If the PC is clearly eligible and the deadline has not passed, keep the purchase receipt, offer-card wording, PC model or SKU, Microsoft account address, and any error code. Those details let Microsoft or the PC seller distinguish an account problem from an eligibility or fulfillment problem.

- Do not change accounts after redemption. The license remains with the original Microsoft account.
- Do not rely on a generic online list. Retailer, region, SKU, and date conditions can change; the offer card and Microsoft’s terms control your entitlement.
- Do not confuse Game Pass access with permanent ownership. A subscription-based right and a promotional digital license have different terms. Read the product page’s ownership language.
- Do not expect simultaneous play on several devices. Microsoft’s digital-goods rules limit a given game to one device or console at a time.
What to do after installation
Open each installed title once while connected to the internet so its account and license checks can complete. Record which Microsoft account claimed the bundle, especially if several people use the PC. If you later reinstall Windows or replace the drive, sign in to that same account and use Microsoft Store > Gaming > Library/My Library to reinstall eligible games.
