There is no single best RAID: Shadow Legends lineup for every player or battle. Choose champions around the mode and encounter: identify what the team must do, check each champion’s actual skills and affinity, and then see whether the whole lineup can deliver its damage, protection, healing, buffs, and debuffs reliably.
Start with the fight, not the champion list
Before choosing a champion, name the team’s objective. Does it need to clear waves, survive a boss, land a particular debuff, recover from incoming damage, or beat a specific Arena lineup? A skill that is valuable for one job may contribute little to another.

The game supports saved team setups for general battles, Faction Wars, Chimera, Doom Tower, Hydra, and PvP. In some modes, you can also set skill instructions by round. That makes it practical to build and save separate lineups rather than force one team to handle everything. See Plarium’s Team Setup guide.

Plarium classifies champions as Attack, Defense, HP, or Support. Its descriptions characterize Attack champions as the main damage dealers; Defense champions as durable units that can disrupt enemies; HP champions as durable units that can draw attacks; and Support champions as sources of healing, buffs, and debuffs. These labels are a useful first clue, but the skill descriptions tell you what a champion actually contributes.

- 11 programmable buttons and dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel: The Logitech wired gaming mouse gives you fully customizable control over your gameplay

- Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: A metal spring tensioning system and metal pivot hinges are built into left and right computer gaming mouse buttons for a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click feedback
For the encounter you chose, check whether the lineup has the functions it needs:
- Damage: Can the team defeat the target or clear waves at a suitable pace?
- Survival: Does it have enough ways to endure or recover from incoming damage?
- Useful effects: Can its buffs, debuffs, or disruption help with this particular fight?
- Skill availability: Do the relevant abilities come around often enough to support the plan?
Do not assume two Support champions are interchangeable, or that a champion’s type guarantees a particular job. Compare the effects and cooldowns in their kits. Plarium’s beginner tips recommend trying unfamiliar champions manually while reviewing their skills. Turning off Auto for a test battle can help you see how their abilities work together before committing scarce upgrade resources.

Check affinity against the target
Affinity can change how reliably an attack performs. The cycle is Force > Magic > Spirit > Force; Void has no direct affinity advantage or disadvantage. According to Plarium’s affinity guide, an advantage gives a 50% chance for a skill to land as a Crushing Hit and an extra 15% chance of a Critical Hit. A disadvantage reduces damage by 20% and gives a 35% chance of a Weak Hit.

If the plan relies on a particular attack or debuff, a disadvantage can make that champion a riskier choice for the matchup. Keep an alternative ready when the target’s affinity matters. The percentages describe the stated affinity mechanics, not a guarantee that an individual skill will land a desired effect.

Make sure the buff and debuff plan can work
Buffs temporarily improve allies; debuffs weaken enemies or apply other harmful effects. For each champion, identify which effects its skills provide and whether they address the encounter. Then consider whether the team can land the debuffs it needs: Plarium’s game overview explains that a debuff only lands if the target does not resist it, with Accuracy and Resistance relevant to that check.
A lineup that includes the right debuff on paper may still struggle if its relevant stats do not support landing it. Judge the actual effects and the build together, rather than selecting a champion by the broad Support label alone.

Build for the job, not just a gear-set name
Gear changes what a champion can do. Plarium’s gear guide lists six Artifact types—weapon, helmet, shield, gauntlets, chestplate, and boots—and three accessory types: ring, amulet, and banner. A champion can equip one of each accessory type. Gear sets add effects; Plarium gives Shield and Stun sets as examples.
When reviewing a build, compare the stats and utility it provides for the champion’s assigned job, not only the set name. A build should support the part that champion is meant to play in this team. Independent build collections can provide a second opinion on artifacts, masteries, blessings, and teams; for example, RaidNinja’s champion guides are supplementary advice, and its collection is described as under development. Check any build suggestion against the current skill kit and your target mode.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Compare the whole lineup, not its power total
Team Power is not a promise of victory. Plarium says it is the sum of individual Champion Powers and was not intended to mean that a higher-power team will definitely win. Its Champion and Team Power support page puts it plainly: “Team synergy and counter-pick are a much more accurate way to defeat your opponents.”

When deciding between two roster options for a slot, compare them on the factors that affect this team:
- Relevance to the target encounter and mode.
- Actual skill effects and how consistently they are available.
- Whether the champion adds a needed function—damage, protection, healing, buffs, debuffs, or control—or duplicates one already covered.
- Affinity against the target.
- The stats, gear, masteries, and blessings needed to perform the role.
- Whether the champion creates useful synergy with allies or is vulnerable to the matchup.
- Usefulness in other modes for your account, if flexibility matters to your decision.
These are comparison questions, not a universal ranking: the right weighting depends on the fight and the rest of your roster.

Plarium’s beginner guidance recommends learning through Campaign and using gear earned there before moving heavily into Dungeons; it also recommends manual testing to understand champion skills and synergy. Treat that as general beginner advice, not a rule for every account or endgame goal. A practical approach is to invest in a small, useful core that helps you progress, then add champions in response to the next content bottleneck.
The official guidance does not establish a universal list of champions to build first. The answer depends on the champions you own, the mode and stage you are tackling, your progression, gear quality, and any restrictions in the encounter. Balance changes and mode details can also affect champion recommendations, so evaluate current skills and matchup needs rather than relying on an undated, universal tier list.
