Choose a Steins;Gate figure by the display experience you want, then verify the exact item’s dimensions and base footprint. A fixed scale figure presents a sculpted pose or scene; a figma is smaller and articulated, with changeable expressions and parts. Scale labels alone won’t tell you whether a figure fits your shelf.
Choose between a composed scene and a poseable figure
Scale figures: a fixed display composition
Scale figures are designed around a particular sculpt, pose, outfit, and often a detailed base. They suit a shelf where you want the character and scene to read as a finished composition. For example, the 1/8 Kurisu Makise -Antinomic Dual- stands among gears on a base decorated with a display, hard disk, and computer; the 1/7 Kurisu Makise ~Reading Steiner~ is surrounded by modeled retro PCs and Future Gadgets.

figma: expressions and poses you can change
figma figures have articulated joints and typically include alternate expressions or parts for posing. The non-scale figma Kurisu Makise listing describes three expressions, extra arms and hands, and an articulated stand. The non-scale figma Rintarou Okabe listing describes three expressions, gadgets, alternate parts, and an articulated stand. Pick this format if changing gestures and expressions matters more to you than a single fixed scene.

Measure shelf space in three dimensions
Height is only one part of the fit. A broad base, support, or outward-reaching pose can make a figure difficult to place even when its height is within the shelf clearance. Measure the available height, width, and depth, then compare them with the exact assembled figure, including its stand or base.
- Check the product page for dimensions that include the stand; the Steins;Gate 0 Kurisu listing, for example, gives both height and width including the stand.
- If the page lists only height, ask the manufacturer or retailer for width and depth rather than estimating from the scale label or photos.
- Leave room for the pose and any support that projects beyond the base. A figure’s listed height does not establish its full footprint.
Read the material and assembly details for that release
Listings in these examples specify PVC, ABS, painted PVC, or painted plastic, depending on the product. Those labels are useful for identifying what the manufacturer says the item is made from; they do not establish that one material is universally more durable than another.

Good Smile Company Customer Support explains that PVC used on many figures is soft and can deform easily in its “How to assemble figures” article, dated June 28, 2023. Follow the instructions for the exact figure and handle assembly carefully; that guidance is not a comparative durability rating for PVC and ABS products.
Verify the exact edition, seller, and availability
Steins;Gate figures can have distinct editions and reproduction schedules. The Kotobukiya Kurisu page lists a Japan reproduction month of January 2027; that is not a global shipping date. Good Smile says availability can vary by region, and product pages may no longer reflect current stock. Check the exact release or reproduction, included parts and stand, and the retailer’s current listing before buying.

- Compare the product name and edition with the manufacturer page so you do not mistake one version for another.
- Remember that prototype photos may differ from the final item and that paintwork can vary; the manufacturer’s product information is the source for those qualifications.
- For Good Smile products, the company warns about bootlegs and identifies its own store or official partner shops as safer purchasing options. Verify the seller rather than relying on a marketplace product title alone.
