YouTube Live Control Room and MyJio can help you investigate stream and connection problems, but the official tools described here do not expose a raw packet-loss meter. Start by recording YouTube’s timestamped stream-health errors, compare them with your encoder’s output, then test the outbound connection and run MyJio Run Diagnostics. Treat the results as clues—not proof of packet loss or that JioFiber caused it.
What these checks can—and cannot—tell you
“Packet loss” is a specific network measurement. A dropped-frame warning, poor playback report, encoder problem, or YouTube stream-health error is not by itself that measurement. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance separates encoder, outbound-connection, and viewer-side possibilities. The reviewed JioFiber guidance describes network, router, Wi-Fi, device, speed-drop, and configuration checks, but does not specify a customer-facing packet-loss reading.

The guidance reviewed also does not document a special diagnostic process for prerecorded loops. Apply the same live encoder and network checks to a loop stream.

1. Record the symptom before changing settings
In YouTube Live Control Room, note the exact stream-health message and its timestamp. Record when the interruption began and ended, what status the encoder displayed, and whether the encoder’s local output or a recording/archive also appears affected. YouTube displays health errors with timestamps and instructions; red errors are critical and yellow errors indicate moderate issues. YouTube: Monitor your stream’s health.

Keeping the original settings and notes makes later comparisons more useful. If you change resolution, bitrate, or connection type, note when you made the change.
2. Check that the encoder settings fit the connection
YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, and a keyframe interval of two seconds (not exceeding four seconds). YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Its current H.264 video-bitrate recommendations include:

These are YouTube encoder-setting recommendations, not a promise about JioFiber upload speed. Test the available upload bitrate and choose a quality the connection can reliably sustain. If the selected resolution exceeds available bandwidth, YouTube recommends lowering the resolution. 3. Separate an encoder problem from an outbound connection problem
Check how the stream looks and sounds in the encoder. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance recommends updating the encoder, checking CPU load and any local archive when quality is poor, and trying another encoder when appropriate. If the local encoder output looks healthy, investigate the outbound internet connection and run an upload-speed test.

Viewer reports also help narrow the possibilities. If one viewer reports trouble, YouTube says the issue is likely with that viewer’s computer or internet connection. If many viewers on separate connections report trouble, YouTube points to the encoder as a possible cause. These patterns are diagnostic clues, not conclusive proof. See YouTube: Troubleshoot your live stream. YouTube’s encoder guidance specifically recommends running a speed test to test upload bitrate.
4. Run JioFiber diagnostics and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet
Run MyJio Run Diagnostics
- Link your JioFiber account in the MyJio app, if it is not already linked.
- Open Home, select JioCare, then choose Run Diagnostics.
- Review the results and follow any on-screen steps. Jio says the tool checks network health, router status, Wi-Fi strength, and device connectivity. It may identify weak Wi-Fi, a router that is offline, loose cables, speed drops, or configuration errors.

Make a like-for-like wired test
If the streaming computer normally uses Wi-Fi, repeat the same test with it connected to the router by Ethernet. Keep the encoder settings the same and note whether the symptoms change. This comparison can help isolate the home wireless segment; a better wired result alone does not identify where any upstream problem occurs or establish packet loss.

5. Compare results and escalate with evidence
Compare the same encoder settings across these observations:

- The encoder’s local output versus YouTube Live Control Room health and timestamps.
- The upload-test result versus the bitrate configured in the encoder.
- Playback reports from one viewer versus reports from multiple viewers on separate connections.
If the issue persists while the encoder output looks healthy, keep the YouTube error timestamps, encoder observations, upload-test results, MyJio outcome, and wired-versus-Wi-Fi comparison. YouTube advises contacting the ISP when a connection test finds a problem. Jio’s Run Diagnostics offers on-screen steps and support options for detected JioFiber problems. Do not describe a stream-health warning or dropped frame as confirmed packet loss unless you have an actual packet-loss measurement.
