Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Short answer: for the planned full release, your Windows PC needs at least Windows 10, an Intel Core i3 processor rated at 3.2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, and 1,000 MB (about 1 GB) of free storage. Steam currently lists Castlebound for release on 11 November 2026 and says the full game is not yet available. The listing does not state a graphics-card requirement, recommended specification, target resolution, frame rate, or benchmark, so meeting the published minimums confirms only that your PC reaches the listed baseline—not what performance you will get.
Castlebound PC requirements at a glance
The following figures come from the official Castlebound Steam listing (Ogre Pixel, 2025 listing copyright). They are the minimum requirements shown for the full Windows game.

| Component | Published minimum | What it means when you check your PC |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 | Your installed Windows version must be Windows 10 or a later version accepted by the final build. The listing specifically names Windows 10 as the minimum. |
| Processor | Intel Core i3 at 3.2 GHz | Record the exact CPU model and its stated clock speed. The listing does not identify a generation or an equivalent processor from another manufacturer. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | Your computer must have at least 8 GB of installed system memory. |
| Storage | 1,000 MB available | Reserve at least 1,000 MB (approximately 1 GB) on the drive where Steam will install the game. |
| Graphics card | Not stated | There is no official GPU model, graphics-memory figure, graphics API, preset, resolution, or frame-rate target to compare yet. |
Castlebound is described on Steam as a roguelike action game in which you and your allies defend a walking castle against waves of monsters. The listing includes solo and co-op play and controller support, but those features do not add extra published hardware requirements.
What “can run” means before release
Steam marks the full game as not yet available, with a planned release date of 11 November 2026. A planned date is not the same as a measured release build: requirements can be revised as development and testing finish. Treat the figures above as the current official baseline, and recheck the store page after launch for changes.

Because no GPU requirement or benchmark is published, there is no evidence-based way to promise a particular frame rate, graphics preset, resolution, loading time, or visual quality. A system that passes every listed field reaches the stated minimum specification. It does not automatically prove that the game will sustain a chosen performance target.
Third-party “Can I run it?” calculators may offer an estimate, but their result cannot replace an official GPU specification or a test of the final release. If such a tool gives a definitive frame-rate claim while the official listing still has no GPU target or benchmark, regard that claim as an estimate.
Check your Windows version
The first comparison is the operating system. Castlebound’s full-game listing names Windows 10 as the minimum.
- Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Enter
winverand press Enter. - Record whether the dialog identifies Windows 10 (or a later Windows version), along with the edition and version number shown.
- Close the dialog after you have written down the result.
You can also open Settings → System → About and read the Windows specifications section. The important comparison is the operating-system version, not the edition name alone. If your PC is running an older Windows release, it does not meet the explicitly published Windows 10 minimum.
Identify your processor and clock speed
The listed CPU minimum is an Intel Core i3 at 3.2 GHz. The store page does not say which Core i3 generation qualifies, nor does it publish a direct equivalent for other CPU families, so keep the comparison literal and record the complete model rather than only “Core i3.”
Task Manager method
- Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
- If the compact view appears, select More details.
- Open the Performance tab and choose CPU.
- Record the processor name shown at the top and the Base speed value. You may also note the current speed, but it changes with workload and power settings.
System Information method
- Press Windows key + R, type
msinfo32, and press Enter. - In System Summary, find Processor.
- Copy the complete model designation and the frequency shown in that line.
Do not treat a temporary boost reading as the processor’s stated specification. The requirement is expressed as “Intel Core i3 at 3.2 GHz,” while the listing supplies no additional test conditions. If your model or its published speed is below that description, mark the CPU comparison as below the listed minimum rather than assuming another component will compensate.

Verify installed RAM
The full game lists 8 GB of system memory. RAM is different from graphics memory: a GPU’s VRAM does not satisfy the published system-RAM figure.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Open Task Manager → Performance → Memory.
- Read the total memory value, which Windows normally displays in gigabytes.
- Alternatively, go to Settings → System → About and read Installed RAM.
- Record the installed total, not merely the amount currently free.
A reading of 8 GB or more reaches the stated minimum. If Windows reports slightly less usable memory because the system reserves some for hardware, keep the installed total and the usable amount separate in your notes; the official requirement is stated as installed RAM, and the listing does not define a separate usable-memory threshold.
If the PC has less than 8 GB
An 8 GB desktop RAM upgrade is the natural remedy when memory is the only shortfall, but compatibility must be checked before buying. Confirm the correct DDR generation, desktop form factor, supported capacity, and available motherboard slots. The Castlebound listing does not specify an upgrade part or a memory speed, so do not assume that any 8 GB module will fit.
Check free installation space
Steam lists 1,000 MB of available storage for the full game. That is approximately 1 GB, but the exact free-space reading depends on how Windows and the drive report units. Check the drive that Steam will actually use.
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Find the drive selected for your Steam library.
- Read the free-space figure beneath that drive, or right-click it, choose Properties, and read Free space.
- Compare the result with the published 1,000 MB minimum.
Steam may need working room for downloading, unpacking, and updating files even when a store listing shows a smaller nominal requirement. The official page does not publish a separate temporary-download allowance, so keep more than the bare minimum available rather than treating exactly 1,000 MB as a comfortable reserve.

If storage is the limiting component
Free space can be created by removing or moving files, uninstalling unused software, or choosing another Steam library drive. A 1 TB internal SSD is a possible hardware solution when the existing drive is consistently full, but verify that your PC supports the drive’s physical format and connection before purchase. Capacity alone does not establish compatibility.

Use this pass/fail worksheet
Write down the five comparison axes below. A result of “meets” means it matches the currently published field; “unknown” means the official listing gives you nothing reliable to score.
| Check | Your result | Castlebound full-game baseline | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows version | Record from winver or Settings |
Windows 10 minimum | Meets / below / not recorded |
| CPU model and speed | Record the full model and stated frequency | Intel Core i3 at 3.2 GHz minimum | Meets / below / not directly comparable |
| Installed RAM | Record total installed memory | 8 GB minimum | Meets / below |
| Free storage | Record free space on the Steam installation drive | 1,000 MB minimum | Meets / below |
| GPU | Record the model for future comparison | Not stated | Officially unscored |
If every published field meets the baseline, your PC reaches Castlebound’s stated minimum specification. If one field is below it, the PC does not meet the official minimum as written. If only the GPU is uncertain, the correct conclusion is “GPU requirement not yet published,” not an invented pass or fail.
How to compare two PCs
When deciding which of two computers is the safer choice, compare the same five fields in the same order: Windows version, complete CPU model and clock, installed RAM, free storage, and GPU model once an official GPU requirement is available.
| Comparison question | Why it matters | Current evidence limit |
|---|---|---|
| Does either PC run an older Windows version? | Windows 10 is the only named full-game OS minimum. | The listing does not detail editions, update levels, or later compatibility. |
| Which CPU is closer to the stated Core i3 at 3.2 GHz? | It is the only published processor baseline. | No generation, benchmark, or non-Intel equivalence is supplied. |
| Does either system have at least 8 GB RAM? | Memory below 8 GB misses the published minimum. | No recommended RAM figure is listed. |
| Which Steam drive has sufficient free space? | The game must be installed where the space is available. | No separate download or update reserve is stated. |
| What GPU does each PC use? | It may become decisive for visual performance. | No official GPU requirement, preset, resolution, or frame-rate target is currently published. |
Do not declare one computer “faster for Castlebound” solely because it has a larger GPU model number or a higher CPU clock. Without an official target or a measured release build, those details cannot be converted into a reliable Castlebound frame-rate prediction.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Full game versus Castlebound Demo
The separate official Castlebound Demo listing gives a lower Windows minimum of 4 GB RAM and 1 GB storage. It also shows 4 GB RAM and 1 GB storage for macOS and SteamOS/Linux. Those figures apply to the demo and should not replace the full game’s 8 GB RAM and 1,000 MB storage requirements when you are planning for the release version.
| Listing | Windows RAM | Windows storage | CPU and OS detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full Castlebound game | 8 GB minimum | 1,000 MB minimum | Windows 10 minimum; Intel Core i3 at 3.2 GHz minimum |
| Castlebound Demo | 4 GB minimum | 1 GB minimum | Demo listing does not establish the full-game requirement |
A PC that can launch the demo is therefore not automatically qualified for the full game. Use the full-game row for any purchase or upgrade decision tied to the planned 11 November 2026 release.

What the macOS and Linux rows tell you
The Steam page’s macOS and SteamOS/Linux rows show 8 GB RAM and 1,000 MB storage, but the checked listing does not display CPU or operating-system details for those rows. Do not infer a complete non-Windows requirements list from the Windows row, and do not assume that the Windows 10 wording is a published macOS or Linux requirement.
Recommended Free Tools
If you plan to use one of those platforms, treat the currently visible memory and storage figures as the only stated values and look for an updated platform-specific listing before release.
Controller support and other optional hardware
The Steam listing includes controller support. A PC-compatible game controller is therefore an optional input accessory, not a component that helps satisfy Windows, CPU, RAM, storage, or graphics requirements. A controller cannot compensate for a system that falls below the published minimums.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Using the demo requirement for the full game: check that the page you are reading is the full Castlebound listing; the demo’s 4 GB RAM figure is lower.
- Checking only the C: drive: compare free space on the drive selected for the Steam library.
- Reading current CPU speed as the specification: use the model and stated/base value, because live speed changes with workload.
- Counting VRAM as system RAM: the 8 GB figure refers to installed system memory.
- Assuming a GPU requirement: none is published yet, so do not substitute a third-party guess for an official value.
- Treating the planned date as a guaranteed release: Steam currently shows 11 November 2026 as planned, and the full game is not yet available.
- Buying RAM without checking compatibility: confirm DDR generation, form factor, slots, and supported capacity first.
What remains unknown
The current official information does not establish a GPU model, recommended CPU or RAM, graphics preset, target resolution, frame-rate target, graphics API, or benchmark. It also does not identify a qualifying Core i3 generation or provide a direct comparison for other processor families. Those omissions matter because minimum specifications are not performance tests.
Until the developer or publisher posts those details—or the release build can be measured—use the worksheet only to answer the narrow question, “Does my PC meet every published minimum?” For “What settings or frame rate should I expect?”, there is not enough official information to give a responsible number.
A final pre-release checklist
- Confirm that the listing is for the full game, not the demo.
- Run
winverand record the Windows version. - Record the complete CPU model and its stated clock value from Task Manager or System Information.
- Confirm at least 8 GB of installed system RAM.
- Confirm at least 1,000 MB of free space on the intended Steam installation drive, with additional working room available.
- Record the GPU model for later comparison, but leave its Castlebound status as unknown until an official requirement is published.
- Recheck the official Steam listing near the planned 11 November 2026 release for revised requirements.
That process gives you an auditable answer based on the information currently published: all four stated Windows minimums met means the PC reaches the official baseline; a missing GPU specification means performance remains unresolved.
