To check Starlink availability, enter the complete service address in Starlink’s official availability map or its order flow, select the matching suggested location if prompted, and review the status and plans shown for that address. Nearby coverage is not a reliable substitute: residential offers can vary by service address. Check the address on Starlink’s own order page before buying a kit elsewhere.
How do I check Starlink availability?
- Open Starlink’s official map or order flow. Start at the Starlink Availability Map or go to Starlink.com and begin an order.
- Enter the full intended service address. If Starlink presents suggested locations, select the one that matches the place where you intend to use the service.
- Read the result for that location. Review the status and the plan offers actually displayed. Starlink says an offer that does not appear after you enter the address is not currently available for that service location.
- Check installation separately. Once you know the address can be served, use the Starlink app to assess whether the intended dish position has an unobstructed view of the sky.
Starlink’s map distinguishes “Available” from “Coming Soon.” Its explanation for pending service can include coverage that is not yet active or regulatory approval that is still pending. The interactive map and order flow show current, location-specific information; plan names, terms, capacity and availability can change, so use the live result for your country and address.

What do the availability results mean?
Available
“Available” indicates service can be ordered for that location at the time you check. Review the plan and terms shown for your address rather than assuming every Starlink plan is offered there.

A pending result is not a confirmation that you can activate service now. Coverage may await deployment or regulatory approval. Do not assume a launch date unless Starlink displays one for that specific location.

Sold out or at capacity
Starlink says residential activations are not currently possible in regions marked sold out or at capacity. If the order flow offers a deposit for a waitlist, it can reserve a place in line; Starlink says it will email when capacity is available and you are next in line, but does not provide an estimated availability timeline. Its Help Center states, “We are unable to provide timelines for residential service availability in any sold out regions.” Starlink’s capacity guidance also notes that business availability may differ, so check that separately if relevant.
A plan does not appear
If a plan is missing from the result for your service address, Starlink says it is not currently available there. Check the current offer in the official flow rather than inferring eligibility from a neighboring address.

Is Starlink Residential tied to my address?
Yes. Starlink describes Residential service as intended for its registered service address. For use at another address or while traveling, Starlink identifies Roam as the relevant plan category; availability and terms at the destination still need to be checked. Availability results are address-specific, so entering a nearby home, town center or approximate map location can give you the wrong answer for the place where the terminal will be registered.

Can I activate a Starlink kit bought from a retailer?
Do not treat buying or owning a kit as proof that Residential service can be activated at your location. Before purchasing from a retailer, enter the intended service address on Starlink’s order page and confirm the service and plan available there. Starlink’s instructions for activating a Starlink and for Standard Kit availability direct customers to verify the service address in its own flow.

No. Address-level service eligibility and a clear installation view are separate checks. Starlink says, “Starlink requires an unobstructed view of the sky,” and recommends using its app to find a suitable installation location. A location may be eligible for service while a particular roof, wall or yard position has obstructions; map availability alone does not establish the view or performance at every mounting point.
