Understand the return window and condition
Amazon.com’s general policy says most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are in original or unused condition. This is not a guarantee that every item is returnable on those terms: the policy lists exceptions with windows of 7, 15, 90, 180, or 365 days for specified product types, conditions, or registry purchases. Check the exact listing or order for the applicable window and requirements.
A return window is not the same as refund processing time. Amazon’s policy says processing can take up to 30 days for Amazon or the seller to receive and process a return, with additional time possible for a financial institution to make the funds available. Refunds follow receipt of the item and an eligibility determination. See the current Amazon.com Return Policy for its terms.

Check warranty coverage separately
A return is governed by the applicable Amazon or seller return terms. A manufacturer warranty is a separate commitment about product coverage; return eligibility does not establish that a warranty exists or that a particular fault is covered.

For purchases from third-party sellers
Start a return request through Amazon’s Online Returns Center and follow the instructions for that item. Seller identity and fulfillment can affect the applicable terms, so check the order rather than assuming every third-party purchase follows identical return conditions.
The A-to-z Guarantee is separate from both a return request and a manufacturer warranty. It applies only to qualifying third-party seller issues and is conditional. For some issues, Amazon requires you to contact the seller and wait more than 48 hours without resolution; other claim and delivery timing requirements depend on the situation. Review Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee conditions rather than treating the guarantee as automatic.

Erase your personal information from a returned electronic device. If you need help, use the manufacturer’s instructions or contact its support team. Amazon includes this direction in its return instructions.
