To find out whether a particular game will run on a Windows on Arm PC, check the game publisher’s support information, search the exact title in Works on WoA, and verify its launcher, anti-cheat, drivers, and performance on your specific PC. Compatibility depends on the game version and device—not simply on whether the computer runs Windows 11.
Start with the exact game and PC
Before comparing compatibility reports, note the game edition and update, the store or launcher you use, your Windows version, and your PC model and processor. Include whether the PC is running Windows 10 on Arm or Windows 11; for Windows 11, note whether it is version 24H2 or later. A report for another edition, update, device, or operating-system version may not apply.

This matters because “Windows 11” and “64-bit processor” alone do not establish that a game works on Arm. A game can depend on a launcher, anti-cheat component, graphics path, or driver that has different compatibility requirements from the game executable.

Look for explicit Windows on Arm or Arm64 support, supported Windows versions, anti-cheat requirements, and known issues. Microsoft’s Windows Arm-based PCs FAQ recommends checking with the game publisher for title-specific information.

Search Works on WoA
Search the exact game and compare the report’s date, game version, Windows version, and device with your setup. Microsoft describes Works on WoA as a third-party, open-source compatibility resource that includes Microsoft-contributed data. It is useful evidence, not a guarantee: community entries can be incomplete or out of date. For a game you rely on for competitive or multiplayer play, corroborate a community report with the publisher.

Verify the launcher and anti-cheat separately
Windows 11 on Arm can emulate x86 and x64 user-mode applications, but emulation does not run kernel-mode drivers. Any kernel-mode component must have an Arm64 version. That makes anti-cheat a title-specific checkpoint: an emulatable game may still be blocked if its anti-cheat depends on an unsupported driver.

Windows 10 on Arm is more limited: it supports x86 emulation, but not x64 application emulation. Windows 11 24H2 includes Prism, which improves emulation performance, but neither Prism nor support for a processor instruction set confirms that a particular game’s launcher, anti-cheat, graphics path, or other dependency will work. Check for drivers for your specific PC
Confirm that your PC maker or graphics hardware vendor supplies drivers for your Windows on Arm device. Microsoft notes that hardware, game, and app drivers must be designed for Windows 11 Arm; a missing driver can prevent the component that needs it from working. Emulation of the game itself does not replace a required driver.

Look for device-specific performance evidence
A game that launches may still run poorly on your PC. Compare your device’s CPU and graphics hardware with the game’s requirements, then look for recent performance reports for the same model or closely matching hardware. Microsoft says the Xbox PC app’s Windows Performance Fit guidance considers the title and the device’s hardware capabilities. Treat that guidance and compatibility reports as separate questions: “Does it run?” does not establish “Does it run well enough for me?”
Use the Xbox PC app catalog for Xbox PC games
If the game is available through the Xbox PC app, check its local support in the catalog on the Arm PC itself. Microsoft announced on January 21, 2026, that more than 85% of the Game Pass catalog was compatible with Arm-based Windows 11 PCs at that time. That is a dated catalog-wide figure, not confirmation that a particular title works or performs well on your device. Microsoft also says Xbox Cloud Gaming remains an option for titles that are not yet supported locally. Streaming is a separate way to play; it does not mean the game can be installed and run on the PC.

Windows on Arm provides per-app emulation settings that you can try as a troubleshooting step. Microsoft warns that changing these settings may improve compatibility at the cost of performance, and may cause crashes or prevent an app from launching. A settings change is not proof of compatibility, so note the original setting and change one option at a time if you experiment. Consult Microsoft’s app-emulation guidance for Windows on Arm for the available settings and cautions.
How to judge the evidence
- Publisher confirmation: the most direct source for the game’s supported platforms, versions, and known anti-cheat issues.
- Works on WoA report: a useful community compatibility signal; match its date, game version, and device details to your own setup.
- Device-specific report: evidence about performance on particular hardware, which a general compatibility listing may not provide.
- Xbox catalog indicator: relevant to local support for Xbox PC app games, but not a guarantee for every title, device, or performance target.
