You generally cannot look up a used graphics card’s cheating history. There is no universal GPU-history database in the cited official guidance. A game publisher may check whether a device is currently hardware-banned in that publisher’s game, but that is not the same as proving what the card’s previous owner did.
Can you check whether a used GPU was previously used for cheating?
Not comprehensively. The official guidance covered here describes a publisher-specific hardware-ban status check, ways to identify a graphics card, warranty terms, and how Call of Duty anti-cheat operates. It does not provide a general service that reports a card’s past use across games.

A clean result from one game’s check is limited: it indicates that the check did not report an active hardware-ban status at that time. It does not establish a full enforcement history, cover other publishers, or prove that nobody previously cheated using the card.
How to check for an active Call of Duty hardware ban
Activision’s Call of Duty Security and Enforcement Policy, published July 31, 2026, says hardware bans apply to devices and cautions buyers about secondhand, shared, or public devices. It describes checking status by signing into a crossplay Call of Duty title on the device with an account in good standing. An active hardware ban produces a status notification.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
- Arrange to test the actual device, ideally before purchase or within a written return period.
- On that device, sign into a crossplay Call of Duty title using an account in good standing.
- Check whether the game displays a hardware-ban status notification.
- Keep the result in its proper scope: this is a Call of Duty device-status check, not a GPU-only history lookup or proof about other games.
Activision’s policy warns: “Players should exercise caution when purchasing, borrowing, or using secondhand, shared, or publicly accessible devices.” The policy does not say that the graphics card alone is necessarily the identifier or the sole component covered by a ban.
Identify the card separately from its ban status
Ask the seller for the exact board-partner model, clear photos of the card’s label and serial sticker, and any available purchase documentation. Compare the identifiers on the card with the listing and packaging. AMD’s official identification guidance describes checking the physical label and using Windows Device Manager hardware IDs to establish a card’s manufacturer and model.

Those checks help confirm what hardware is being sold; they do not reveal a former owner’s behavior. A matching label, hardware ID, or successful basic operation is not evidence that the card has a clean cheating history.
Keep warranty and condition checks separate
Warranty eligibility is a different question from anti-cheat status. NVIDIA’s cited GeForce warranty page applies to qualifying new purchases in the United States and says its warranty does not extend to someone who acquires the product used. Check the precise card maker’s terms for the product, region, and purchase date rather than assuming coverage transfers.

Inspect the card’s physical condition and confirm its identity and operation as you normally would for used hardware. None of those steps can certify previous use or erase an existing publisher-side device status.

- Ask directly whether the card or the PC it came from was used with the game you care about, and keep the answer in writing.
- Save the listing, serial-number photos, and the seller’s written return terms.
- If Call of Duty status is the concern, request the on-device check described above rather than relying only on a screenshot.
- If the seller cannot demonstrate the check and the risk matters to you, choose a transaction with a clear return policy.
Activision’s RICOCHET overview describes a PC kernel-level driver that monitors applications attempting to interact with protected Call of Duty titles. That explains anti-cheat operation while the game runs; it is not a buyer-facing tool for reconstructing a used GPU’s history. No cited official source supports treating a third-party tool as a certification of that history.

What a check can—and cannot—tell you
- Publisher and title: A status check applies to the specific publisher’s game context, not every game.
- Object checked: Activision describes a device status check; it does not establish a public record for an individual graphics card.
- Timing: A test on the actual device is more relevant to its current status than an unverified seller screenshot, but it remains a point-in-time check.
- Clean result: It means no active status notification appeared in that check—not that the card has never been used for cheating.
- Transaction protection: Return terms determine what recourse you have if a relevant game reports a ban after purchase.
