Sony says catalog end dates are announced ahead of time, but it does not promise a fixed notice period.
Where to check a PS Plus game’s leaving date
Start with Sony’s PlayStation Plus games page, which lets you find titles and explains that the console hub contains the complete list for your region. Then check the title in the console’s Game Catalog. Sony’s US page says some games have an end date and will be removed from the service; availability varies by country or region.

For dated announcements, check the PlayStation Blog’s PlayStation Plus archive. Look for a Game Catalog announcement that matches the relevant month and region. A Monthly Games post is a different kind of announcement: it concerns that month’s claimable games, not necessarily the departure date of a Game Catalog title.

On PS5
- From Games home, open PlayStation Plus.
- Select Benefits, then Game Catalog.
- Find and open the game’s listing, and look for current end-date or removal information.
On PS4
- From the function screen, open PlayStation Plus.
- Select Game Catalog.
- Find and open the game’s listing, and check for end-date or removal information.
These are Sony’s documented paths; menu names can change with system updates. If the labels differ, look for the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog section. Sony confirms that dates are publicised ahead of time, but its guidance does not establish a universal location for the date on every listing or guarantee how long beforehand it will appear.

How to verify the date and region
- Use your own region’s hub. Catalog availability can differ by country or region, so a date or listing on the US site may not apply to your account elsewhere.
- Match the announcement to the title and month. Blog posts can cover new monthly lineups as well as Monthly Games. Confirm that a post is about the Game Catalog and the correct region.
- Check again near the announced date. Catalog availability can change. If Sony’s current listing and relevant official announcements do not give a date, treat it as unconfirmed rather than estimating one from an older post or third-party report.
What happens when a catalog game leaves?
Game Catalog access is not the same as owning a copy of the game. Adding a catalog title to your library does not guarantee you can continue playing it after its removal from the service. Sony distinguishes these titles from Monthly Games, which can be played while the membership is active. Some Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games have end dates and leave the service.
If you have purchased add-ons or downloadable content for a catalog game, Sony says you can use them again if you resubscribe or purchase the underlying title after catalog access ends. Whether the game is sold separately—and which platform, edition, and region are available—depends on that specific title.
