To add Amazon Music to a Samsung Galaxy Watch, first check the Play Store on the watch itself. Availability depends on the watch model, software and region; if the app is listed, install it and follow its sign-in and playback prompts. If it is not listed, transferring Amazon Music subscription downloads through Samsung’s Music app is not a workaround: those protected downloads cannot be exported as ordinary audio files.
Check whether Amazon Music is available on your watch
On a Wear OS Galaxy Watch, open the Play Store from the watch’s app list and search for Amazon Music. Samsung’s Wear OS app instructions use Google Play to install watch apps. Search on the watch rather than assuming that installing the phone app will add it to the watch; Samsung says phone apps do not automatically sync to a Wear OS watch.

Amazon Music support is not established for every Galaxy Watch generation, regional store or software version. An Amazon staff reply dated April 8, 2023 said its Galaxy Watch application supported offline downloads, but that historical statement does not guarantee current compatibility or features. The separate Amazon Alexa for Smart Watches listing describes playing linked music services on some watches and lists a Galaxy Watch model as unsupported; it is not proof that Amazon Music works on every Samsung watch. Use the app’s on-watch Play Store listing for your exact device as the practical check.
Install and use the watch app if it appears
- Open Play Store on the watch and search for Amazon Music.
- Install the app if the listing offers it for that watch.
- Open Amazon Music and sign in to the account with the music access you want to use.
- Follow the app’s playback and download options. The watch app’s current controls and supported features can vary, so rely on what it presents on your device rather than assuming every phone-app feature is available.
If the watch listing is unavailable, the evidence does not establish that installing the phone app, sideloading an app or using Alexa will provide Amazon Music playback on that model.

Can you download Amazon Music for offline listening?
Offline playback depends on both the plan and the watch app’s capabilities. Amazon’s Android offline-playback help page says Prime offline access is limited to All-Access Playlists. Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Music Standard allow downloads of songs, albums and playlists. These plan terms may change, so check Amazon’s current help and the options shown in your account.
Amazon says subscription downloads and songs in All-Access Playlists are accessible only within the Amazon Music app; they cannot be exported to another app or external storage. Therefore, you cannot move an Amazon Music subscription download into the Samsung Music app as a regular music file. Where the watch app offers downloads, manage them inside that app. Amazon’s 2023 forum reply confirms offline downloads existed in the Galaxy Watch app at that time, not that the feature remains available on every current model.

Use Samsung’s Music app for compatible local files
If you have ordinary, unencrypted audio files, Samsung documents transferring them from an Android phone using Galaxy Wearable. This is a fallback for compatible files you own or otherwise have as files—not a way to transfer protected Amazon Music downloads.

- Go to Watch settings > Manage content or Add content to your watch, then choose Add tracks. Menu wording can vary by device.
- Select the compatible music files and tap Done.
- On the watch, open the Music app to play them.
Samsung Canada lists MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG and WMA as supported formats in its music-transfer instructions, last updated August 11, 2026. Samsung notes that downloaded encrypted files from streaming services cannot be exported through this process.

Pair Bluetooth headphones for watch playback
For private listening, pair Bluetooth headphones or earbuds directly with the watch. Samsung’s pairing guide gives this route:
- On the watch, open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
- Put the headphones into pairing mode.
- Select the headphones when they appear in the watch’s device list.
- Open their settings on the watch and make sure Media audio is enabled.
Available output options and screen layouts vary by watch and provider; some watch models also have a built-in speaker. Samsung’s setup guide for Wear OS watches is available here.
