Find out who bills your HBO Max subscription first. If WarnerMedia bills you directly, update your details on the HBO Max subscription page; if an app store or another provider bills you, make the change through that biller instead.
Find who bills your subscription
Sign in at HBOMax.com/subscription. You can also open Subscription from the profile menu in the app, or go to Settings and then Subscription on a TV device. The biller is shown at the top of the Subscription screen.

If you cannot identify the biller there, check your bank statement or ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider whether it handles your subscription. The steps for changing payment details depend on the biller.
If WarnerMedia bills you directly
- Sign in at HBOMax.com/subscription.
- Select Payment Method.
- Enter the updated payment information and save it.
HBO Max says the updated payment information will be used for your next subscription charge.
#1 Best Overall
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards. Good for use on the US Google Play Store only. Terms apply - see below.
- Google Play gift codes can be used on the Google Play Store, the official app store for Android, to purchase apps, games, and more.
- New finds, old favorites, one card. Choose a unique gift card design featuring your favorite games or apps. This card can also be used for anything else on Google Play. There’s something for everyone, so find what’s yours. Go Play.
- To redeem, enter code in the Play Store app or play.google.com.
- Easy to use: With a Google Play gift code, you never have to worry about expiration dates or fees.
If you do not see “Payment Method”
A missing Payment Method option is a sign to use the biller shown on your Subscription screen. Sign in to that biller’s account and update payment there, or follow its support instructions. HBO Max’s U.S. English help page lists Amazon Appstore, Apple, Google Play, Roku, and Samsung TV among app-store billing routes. It also lists providers including AT&T, DIRECTV, Hulu, Prime Video Channels, Verizon Fios, Verizon +play, a Verizon myPlan perk, Xfinity, YouTube TV, and YouTube Primetime Channels, as well as an “Other provider” route. These are examples from the U.S. page; your available route and account menus may differ.
For sign-in problems, use HBO Max sign-in help rather than guessing at account-recovery steps.
