In India, Samsung Wallet lets you link multiple bank accounts to UPI and select a linked account for a payment. Samsung’s published guide does not specify the exact steps to unlink a bank account or change a UPI ID, so use the controls currently shown in your app rather than relying on unverified tap-by-tap directions.
First identify what you want to change
- Use a different bank account for a payment: choose another account already linked to UPI when selecting the payment account. Samsung’s UPI guide confirms that multiple bank accounts can be linked and selected for a transaction. Samsung India’s UPI guide
- Unlink a bank account: this removes that bank account from the UPI setup in Wallet. The guide confirms where accounts are managed, but does not document a specific removal sequence.
- Delete or deregister the UPI account: this is different from switching the payment account or unlinking one bank account. Samsung’s service description addresses deletion from Samsung Pay, but does not provide a current in-app walkthrough. Samsung India’s Samsung Pay service description
Where to look in Samsung Wallet
- Open Samsung Wallet and select UPI.
- Open Add/Link/Manage Bank Account.
- Select the bank account you want to manage and inspect the options and confirmation prompts currently displayed in your app.
- If an appropriate change or removal control is not shown, contact Samsung India support. For bank-side registration or verification issues, contact your bank or the payment service provider (PSP) responsible for the UPI account. Samsung India lists chat and phone support on its support page; the page does not establish a dedicated UPI support channel.
Samsung’s guide confirms that this menu is used to link multiple accounts to a UPI VPA (Virtual Payment Address), but it does not verify the precise removal or UPI ID change flow. Wallet features and labels can vary by market, device and app version, so follow the prompts in your current India app.

If you changed your SIM or mobile number
The mobile number used for UPI setup must match the number registered with the selected bank account. Samsung says a SIM change requires UPI re-registration and adding the bank accounts again. If the number registered with your bank has changed, resolve that bank-side registration first, then follow the UPI setup shown in Wallet. Samsung India’s Samsung Pay service description

What deleting the UPI account means for your data
Samsung says that deregistering a mobile wallet or deleting a UPI account from Samsung Pay removes user information, including transaction information, from Samsung’s servers. This statement concerns Samsung’s servers; it does not say that bank statements or records held by banks and other entities are erased.

Do not confuse UPI management with Quick Access cards
Removing a credit or debit card from Wallet Quick Access changes which payment cards appear there; it does not unlink a UPI bank account. Samsung’s Quick Access guide covers card display and ordering, a separate feature from UPI account management.
