Spoiler warning: this guide discusses the Black Clover manga through Chapter 392, including late-series developments involving Yuno, Asta and Lucius.
If you want the clearest route to Yuno’s latest power-up, read continuously from the chapter immediately after your last confirmed anime episode through Chapter 392. Do not jump straight to the final Yuno fight: the payoff depends on the Dark Triad conflict, Yuno’s Spade identity, Asta’s Land of the Sun training, and the rivalry that has driven the series since Chapter 1.

The short answer: where to start
There are three sensible ways to catch up. New readers should read Chapters 1–392 in order. Anime viewers should identify the exact chapter covered by their last episode and continue from the next chapter, then read without skipping until Chapter 392. Readers who are already current through the Spade Kingdom Raid can begin with the Land of the Sun material and continue through the complete Final Arc.
Chapter 392 is the current endpoint in VIZ Media’s official English chapter listing. The listing places Chapters 389, 390, 391 and 392 in the April 30, 2026 batch. The official anime site describes the series as having run in Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump GIGA from February 2015 to May 2026, so older anime-to-manga charts can be out of date or can use different episode and chapter boundaries.

Choose a catch-up route
| Option | Speed | Context retained | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Read Chapters 1–392 | Slowest | Complete | New readers, rereaders and lore-focused fans |
| Start after the anime | Medium | High if the anime is fresh | Viewers moving directly to the manga |
| Start after the Spade Kingdom Raid | Fastest | Lowest; earlier setup is assumed | Readers who remember the raid and its character developments |
For most people, the second route is the best compromise. The Final Arc is comparatively short, but it assumes knowledge that is easy to lose when you skip ahead: how devil powers changed the political stakes, why Yuno’s heritage matters, what Asta learned in the Land of the Sun, and how Wind, Star and Anti-Magic interact in the climax.
Route A: read the complete manga
Reading Chapters 1–392 is the only route that preserves every introduction, rule and piece of foreshadowing. It also makes Yuno’s transformation feel like a progression rather than a sudden upgrade. Early chapters establish the contrast between Yuno’s natural talent and Asta’s refusal to quit; later arcs repeatedly return to that contrast while giving both characters new responsibilities.
- Chapters 1–the anime’s early material: establish the orphanage, the four-leaf and five-leaf grimoires, the Black Bulls, the Golden Dawn and the shared Wizard King ambition.
- Middle arcs: build the magic-system rules, squad relationships and elf-related history that explain why the Clover Kingdom’s conflicts become larger than a rivalry between two boys.
- Spade Kingdom Raid: read the Dark Triad conflict in sequence. Their devil powers and invasion of the Clover Kingdom are the bridge between the earlier kingdom adventures and the endgame.
- Land of the Sun: keep the training and technique chapters. Asta’s Zetten training is not optional background when you are trying to understand the balance between Asta and Yuno in the final battles.
- Final Arc through Chapter 392: follow Yuno’s confrontation with Lucius, the kingdom-wide crisis, Asta’s return and the final Asta/Yuno team-up.
Route B: continue after the anime
Do not choose a chapter from memory or from an unlabeled fan graphic. First write down the last episode you definitely finished, then compare its events with VIZ’s official chapter index. Anime adaptations can rearrange scenes, combine chapters or end at different points by region and release. Once you have the last confirmed chapter, begin with the next chapter and read forward continuously.
1. Re-establish the post-anime continuation
The post-anime material moves from the earlier kingdom-centered conflicts into the Spade Kingdom Raid. The Dark Triad’s devil powers are central here: they are not merely stronger versions of previous villains, but the reason the story’s threat expands into an invasion and a race against catastrophic plans.
Read this section even if you remember the broad plot from summaries. Yuno’s later role depends on details about the Spade Kingdom, his family identity and the way power and legitimacy are treated in the series. The raid also clarifies why Yuno is no longer functioning only as Asta’s friendly benchmark. He becomes a political and military figure with obligations that exist independently of the rivalry.
2. Read the entire Spade Kingdom Raid
The raid supplies the power vocabulary needed for the Final Arc. It shows how devil contracts and enhanced forms change the scale of combat, while also making the limits of ordinary squad-level tactics visible. Yuno’s choices in this period are important because they connect his personal growth to the survival of the Clover and Spade Kingdoms.
- Track which abilities are innate, which are learned and which depend on an external source.
- Notice how the story treats Yuno’s Spade heritage alongside his Clover upbringing rather than replacing one identity with the other.
- Keep Asta’s Anti-Magic in view as a counterpoint: his strength does not follow the same rules as Yuno’s magic, so their teamwork is complementary rather than interchangeable.
3. Do not skip the Land of the Sun material
The Land of the Sun section explains the training and technique context behind Asta’s return. Shueisha’s official volume summaries specifically identify Asta’s time there and his Zetten training. Those chapters matter to a Yuno-focused reading because the final Asta/Yuno balance only makes sense when you understand what Asta learned away from the Clover Kingdom.

Read the training as a change in method, not just a numerical power increase. The Land of the Sun material introduces a different way of applying force and awareness, giving Asta tools that can stand beside Yuno’s increasingly refined magic. Skipping it leaves the final team-up looking like an unexplained correction to the plot.
4. Read the Final Arc in order
The official summaries for Volumes 36–38 frame the Final Arc around Yuno’s confrontation with Lucius, a crisis affecting the kingdom, Asta’s return and the decisive Asta/Yuno battle. Read every chapter in sequence rather than jumping to the chapters that feature Yuno. The apparent transformation is presented within a larger escalation, and its meaning depends on what Lucius is doing, what Asta can counter and what Yuno is protecting.
Route C: you are current through the Spade Kingdom Raid
If you have already read the raid in the manga and can recall the major character and power developments, begin with the Land of the Sun chapters. Continue through the whole Final Arc to Chapter 392. This is the fastest route that still preserves the explanations most directly connected to the final conflict.
Do not reduce this route to a handful of Yuno appearances. The Final Arc alternates between kingdom-wide events, Asta’s return and Yuno’s confrontations. Reading only the pages where Yuno fights removes the cause-and-effect surrounding his power use and makes the Asta/Yuno partnership harder to follow.

What to remember about Yuno before the late-series power-up
Wind Magic and the four-leaf grimoire
The official character information describes Yuno as a Wind Magic master who possesses the rare four-leaf Clover Grimoire. That is his baseline: exceptional control, speed and precision, backed by a grimoire traditionally associated with extraordinary luck and potential.
His talent should not be mistaken for a complete explanation of his strength. Black Clover repeatedly tests whether natural ability is enough when an opponent’s power changes the rules. Yuno’s later development therefore adds techniques and responsibilities to his Wind Magic rather than discarding the foundation established at the beginning.
Two kingdoms, one identity
Yuno’s identity connects the Clover and Spade Kingdom storylines. The late arc treats him as a central political and combat figure, not simply as Asta’s rival from the orphanage. Keep both sides of that identity in mind when reading his scenes with Lucius: his decisions carry personal, national and strategic consequences at the same time.

The rivalry is the story’s spine
The official portal introduces Asta and Yuno as boys raised in the same church who receive grimoires at age 15 and pursue the Wizard King goal as rivals. That premise remains active in the Final Arc. Their relationship is competitive, but it is also the series’ main measuring device: each character’s progress changes what the other must become.

It is paying off a long-running promise that they can pursue the same ideal through different powers and different routes.
Star Magic enters the late fight
A Chapter 391 reference records Yuno switching to Star Magic and firing numerous lasers while Asta uses Ki to deflect them. This is why descriptions of the late power-up often mention both Star and Wind Magic. Treat Star Magic as an additional late-series capability layered onto Yuno’s established foundation, not as proof that his earlier Wind Magic has been replaced.
What “Yuno’s new transformation” means
Use the phrase cautiously. The publisher and official character pages confirm Yuno’s Wind Magic, four-leaf grimoire, late Star Magic use and his role in the final battle, but they do not provide a publisher-defined English name for one separate form called “the new transformation.” Different fan communities and editions may label a spell, combination or powered state differently.
For a spoiler-managed reading plan, “late-series Star/Wind power-up” is the safest description unless your edition supplies a formal spell or form name. That wording tells you what to watch for without presenting an unofficial label as canon. It also reflects the way the fight is actually built: the payoff comes from combining established identity, accumulated technique and new Star Magic applications.
A practical checklist before Chapter 391
Use this checklist if you are trying to decide whether you are ready to read the final Yuno material:
- You know that Yuno began with Wind Magic and a four-leaf Clover Grimoire.
- You remember why the Dark Triad’s devil powers turned the Spade conflict into an invasion of the Clover Kingdom.
- You understand that Yuno’s Spade heritage affects the late story’s politics and his personal stakes.
- You have read Asta’s Land of the Sun training and understand the importance of Zetten.
- You can explain why Anti-Magic and Yuno’s magic complement each other rather than operate as the same kind of power.
- You remember that Asta and Yuno were raised together, received grimoires at 15 and have pursued the Wizard King goal as rivals.
- You are prepared for Star Magic to appear alongside Wind Magic in the late fight.
If any item is unfamiliar, continue reading from the earliest missing section instead of searching for isolated fight pages. The missing context is usually shorter to read than the time spent reconstructing it from summaries.

Common catch-up mistakes and how to avoid them
Using an anime episode number as if it were universal
Episode-to-chapter mappings vary because adaptations may reorder or combine material, and releases can differ by region. Verify against the official VIZ chapter index and match an event you remember, not only an episode number.
Jumping from the raid directly to Yuno versus Lucius
This skips the Land of the Sun training and Asta’s Zetten development. Read that section first so the final partnership has its intended setup.
Assuming every late ability is a brand-new form
Some scenes show a new spell, technique or combination rather than a separately named transformation. Keep the official descriptions in view and avoid treating an unofficial fan label as a confirmed form name.
Reading only Yuno’s chapters
The Final Arc’s stakes are shared across the kingdom. Asta’s return, Lucius’s threat and the wider crisis explain why Yuno uses his powers when he does. Skipping those chapters removes the tactical and emotional reasons behind the final confrontation.
Official reading and the collected-volume option
VIZ Media’s official chapter index is the authoritative English reference for the Chapter 392 endpoint and for checking where your anime stopping point aligns with the manga. Shueisha’s official comics listing is the publisher reference for collected editions. Its Vol. 38 summary describes Asta’s return, his reunion with Yuno and their decisive confrontation with Lucius.
If you prefer print, Black Clover Vol. 38 is the natural collected-volume option for the final Asta/Yuno versus Lucius material. Edition availability, language and stock can vary, so confirm the details with the retailer or library listing you plan to use rather than relying on an old product page.

For a first-time reader, nothing should be skipped: Chapters 1–392 are the complete setup and payoff. For an anime viewer with a fresh memory of the adaptation, skip only chapters you have positively confirmed the anime already covered, then continue in order. For a reader current through the Spade Kingdom Raid, skip the earlier material only if you can satisfy the checklist above; otherwise begin earlier at the first missing section.

The final chapters are not a detached bonus story. They assume knowledge of Asta’s Anti-Magic, Yuno’s Wind and Star Magic, the Lucius threat and the long-running rivalry. Continuous reading from your verified stopping point is therefore faster in practice than repeatedly pausing to look up missing explanations.
Chapter 392 as the endpoint
Treat Chapter 392 as the current catch-up target represented in VIZ’s official listing. The April 30, 2026 batch includes Chapters 389–392, making it the clearest endpoint for readers preparing to discuss the completed manga material. If your local service shows a different release date or chapter grouping, follow that service’s availability while using the VIZ index to confirm the chapter number.
Once you reach Chapter 392, you have read the material needed to place Yuno’s late Star/Wind power-up, his Lucius confrontation and the final Asta/Yuno partnership in context.

Do I need to reread all of Black Clover before the final Yuno chapters?
No. New readers should start at Chapter 1, but anime viewers can continue from the next chapter after their verified stopping point. Readers current through the Spade Kingdom Raid should read the Land of the Sun material and then the complete Final Arc.
Is there an official English name for Yuno’s new transformation?
The cited official character and publisher material confirms Yuno’s Wind Magic, four-leaf grimoire, late Star Magic use and final-battle role, but it does not establish one separate English form name. “Late-series Star/Wind power-up” is a cautious description.
What is the latest chapter I should read?
Chapter 392 is the current endpoint in VIZ Media’s official English listing; Chapters 389–392 appear in its April 30, 2026 batch.
Which print volume covers the final Asta and Yuno confrontation?
Shueisha’s official listing identifies Vol. 38 as the collected-volume anchor for Asta’s return, his reunion with Yuno and their decisive confrontation with Lucius.
