Call a screenshot service over HTTP
Use HTTP Make a request to send the lead’s URL to a chosen screenshot API. This route gives you a separate service to configure and authenticate, and you must confirm its current request parameters, response format, limits, and terms. If it returns a URL to the image instead of the image itself, add HTTP Download a file before the Zoho CRM attachment module. Neither Make listing establishes which route has lower cost or broader capture controls; compare those points in the active module and service documentation.
Configure and test the scenario safely
- Start with a test lead. Choose a record with a valid, public website URL and note its record ID. Avoid using a real customer record until you have checked what page data and files the scenario will transmit.
- Run the trigger once. Confirm Make receives the intended lead, website value, and identifier. If the website field is empty or contains a non-URL value, route that bundle away from the screenshot action rather than making a blind request.
- Inspect the screenshot action’s output. Determine whether it provides file data or a URL, and check the actual file name, content type, and size. For a URL result, add Download a file and test that the downloaded output is an image.
- Map the attachment action. Select the correct lead identifier and map the screenshot file into Zoho CRM Upload an Attachment. The module listing does not enumerate required field names or file-size limits; use the module’s current configuration and Zoho CRM’s applicable account limits.
- Test end to end before enabling ongoing runs. Verify that the attachment appears on the same lead that triggered the scenario and can be opened. Test a missing URL, an inaccessible site, and a failed screenshot so you know how the scenario behaves outside the happy path.
Prevent duplicates and handle failures
A trigger that watches created or updated objects can see the same lead more than once as its fields change. Design duplicate prevention rather than assuming each lead produces one run. For example, maintain a processed marker or another stable record of the captured URL and capture status, and check it before creating another attachment. Make’s integration listing does not confirm a built-in idempotency feature for this scenario.

- Validate input: accept only a usable website URL, and decide how to handle missing schemes, private addresses, or URLs that should not be sent to an external service.
- Separate capture from attachment errors: record whether the screenshot failed or the CRM upload failed, so a retry does not unknowingly create duplicate attachments.
- Plan retries deliberately: use the retry and error-handling options available in your current Make scenario, then verify whether a repeated upload creates a second attachment.
- Limit exposure: send only the lead URL and other data the chosen service requires. Review access controls and data handling for both your Make and screenshot-service accounts.
- Check operational limits: verify service costs, request rates, render behavior, and Zoho CRM attachment limits before processing many leads. The cited Make listings do not specify those values.
