Geolocation settings are separate: overriding a browser’s location does not guarantee that a retailer’s region selector, account settings, or regional URL will change.
Choose and verify the product page’s region
- Open the product page. Use the retailer’s country or region selector rather than assuming your browser’s location determines the storefront.
- Complete any confirmation prompt and wait for the page to finish updating. Depending on the site, the URL, product information, currency, availability, or delivery details may change.
- Check the page state. Confirm the selected region in the site’s displayed selection and verify the product details you need to document. There is no universal rule for how a retailer’s selector persists or interacts with cookies, account state, URL routing, or geolocation, so verify the actual page.
- Keep the resulting URL with the screenshot if it helps document which regional page you captured.
Capture a screenshot in Chrome
Chrome DevTools provides viewport and full-page screenshot commands. Open DevTools, enable Device Mode if you need a particular responsive viewport, and use More options → Capture screenshot for the visible viewport or More options → Capture a full size screenshot for the whole page. - Viewport capture: includes only what is visible in the emulated viewport, so scroll to the relevant content first.
- Full-size capture: includes content beyond the viewport. Review very long or dynamic pages afterward to check for missing or awkwardly rendered content.
Device Mode is useful for approximating a responsive layout, but it is not a real phone. Chrome describes it as a “first-order approximation” of how a page looks and feels on a mobile device; use a physical device if actual device behavior matters.

When geolocation emulation may help
Chrome DevTools Sensors can override geolocation with a preset, entered coordinates, or “Location unavailable.” This can help test pages that respond to the browser’s geolocation API. It does not establish that the retailer’s separate country selector, account settings, or regional URL will change. For a chosen storefront, use the site’s selector and treat geolocation emulation as a distinct test. The Chrome documentation lists its update date as 2022-07-04.

Capture a full page or element in Firefox
Firefox offers a toolbox button for Take a screenshot of the entire page. To capture one component, use the Inspector’s Screenshot Node command. The Web Console :screenshot helper also supports options including --fullpage, --selector, --delay, --dpr, and --filename. Consult Firefox Source Docs: Taking screenshots for the available controls.
A selector-based element capture is useful when the record only needs a price panel or product block. Inspect the saved image to make sure the target element and relevant details are legible.

Make regional comparisons consistent
When capturing more than one storefront, use the same browser, viewport dimensions, zoom, and capture scope for each image. Capture them at roughly the same time, and record the chosen region and resulting page URL. Note any consent banner or sign-in state that could change what appears. These steps make the screenshots easier to compare; they do not automatically verify regional state.

For repeated captures, a screenshot API can take a page screenshot with viewport controls, full-page capture, or a selector wait. Capture.page documents those options, but its documentation does not establish that it can operate a particular retailer’s region selector or reliably preserve that site’s regional state. Check the saved image
- Confirm that the site shows the intended region and that the relevant product details are readable.
- Check whether the capture scope includes what you need: visible viewport, whole page, or a single element.
- For comparisons, label each file with the region and date, and keep the URL alongside it if useful.
- Review long or dynamic pages after capture rather than assuming all content rendered as intended.
Troubleshooting
The page still shows the old region
The site selector may not have completed its update, or its state may depend on the URL, cookies, account, or another site-specific setting. Follow the site’s confirmation prompt, wait for the update, and verify the displayed selection and product details before capturing. Browser geolocation emulation alone may not affect the site’s independent selector.

You likely captured the visible viewport. Use Chrome’s Capture a full size screenshot or Firefox’s full-page option when you need the entire page.
The full-page image is difficult to review
Long or dynamic pages can require extra inspection after capture. Check that the relevant sections rendered and that text is legible; if only one component matters, capture that element instead.

The mobile layout does not match a phone
Device Mode simulates a viewport and related conditions rather than running the page on an actual mobile device. Treat it as an approximation; check on a real phone when device-specific behavior is important.
