Size backup power for their combined real operating load and the outage duration you want to bridge; there is no safe universal UPS size or runtime. You also need an internet connection that survives the outage—backup power cannot keep an ISP service online if its network goes down.
This guide covers a live performance as well as a prerecorded playlist. They have different power needs: a camera or performance setup must stay powered at home, while prerecorded videos can also be played out from a cloud service.

Decide what kind of bhajan stream you are running
Live performance or camera feed
Your streaming computer or encoder must stay on, along with any camera, audio interface, mixer, or other equipment needed to capture the performance. Include each essential device in your backup plan. If the performance depends on a person and a live camera feed, a cloud playlist cannot replace that live source.
Prerecorded bhajan playlist
You can run prerecorded video through a computer encoder, or consider a cloud-based continuous-streaming service. YouTube lists cloud tools as a category for continuous streams of prerecorded video; that does not establish the current terms or reliability of any particular provider. Whichever approach you choose, confirm that you have the necessary rights to stream the recordings.

List everything that must stay powered
Walk through the actual route from the content source to the internet. Note every device whose shutdown would stop or degrade the stream.
- Streaming computer and encoder: the computer running OBS or other encoding software, or the hardware encoder if you use one.
- Internet equipment: the ONT or modem and the router. Keeping the computer powered is not enough if either network device shuts off.
- Audio and video equipment: any camera, microphone power supply, audio interface, mixer, or other device required for a live performance.
- Other essentials: any required switch, capture device, or powered accessory in your particular setup.
Record the operating draw of the devices that need to run together. Use the actual equipment specifications or measure the setup in normal streaming use; do not infer runtime from a UPS’s headline capacity alone.

Choose backup power for the combined load and target runtime
First decide how long you want the broadcast to survive a typical or planned outage. Then compare a computer UPS with an inverter-and-battery arrangement for the whole load. A compatible router or modem mini UPS may help with a network-only power issue, but it will not power the streaming computer.

Product labels do not tell you how long your complete setup will run. Runtime depends on the actual load and backup arrangement; no specific model or tested runtime is established here. Check local service and battery replacement options before choosing a system.

Check internet continuity separately from power
A powered router does not guarantee a working broadband connection. Find out whether your ISP service actually stays up during local outages; behavior can vary by provider and location. If you consider mobile data or a second ISP as a fallback, verify coverage at your home, upload capacity, data limits, and whether the alternative depends on infrastructure affected by the same outage. Make sure the modem or hotspot for that connection can also stay powered.
YouTube warns that connectivity disruption can interrupt a live stream and recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. That is YouTube’s planning recommendation, not a guarantee against drops. Test your upload speed and stream at settings your connection can sustain.

Set up YouTube Live and test the encoder
YouTube says you need a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to stream. Its computer-encoder approach is suitable for sending a stream from a home setup. Follow the current instructions in YouTube Live Control Room and your encoder, and confirm that the stream appears correctly in the player before relying on it.

- Confirm channel eligibility: check channel verification and live-streaming access in YouTube Studio. Resolve any restriction before planning a continuous broadcast.
- Prepare the encoder: use YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance to choose a supported codec, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate for your content and tested connection. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Do not choose a bitrate based on a generic maximum if your upload connection cannot sustain it.
- Connect the stream: create or select the live stream in Live Control Room and use its stream key in the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube’s stream settings.
- Check the live player: start a test broadcast and verify picture, sound, stability, and the viewer-facing result. YouTube recommends testing the setup and checking the stream.
- Rehearse a power cut: while testing, simulate the changeover using your backup equipment. Confirm that the computer, network gear, and essential audio equipment remain on; the ISP route stays available; the encoder continues or reconnects; and the YouTube player recovers as expected.

Clear music rights and plan for recordings
Religious or devotional content is not automatically cleared for rebroadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms require the streamer to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content, including music rights involving artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Confirm permissions for both the recordings and the compositions you use. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
Do not rely on a single uninterrupted 24/7 stream as the only copy of the broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Power-cut troubleshooting

What India’s 24×7 supply policy means for a home setup
The Ministry of Power said on 23 March 2026 that Rule 10 provides for 24×7 electricity supply by distribution licensees, while allowing the Commission to specify lower hours for some categories; state governments and utilities are responsible for supply and distribution. This policy context is not a promise that a particular home will avoid outages. Plan for the local conditions and test your own equipment chain.
