For a full-page image, use Browsershot’s fullPage() method and save the result: Browsershot::url('https://example.com')->fullPage()->save($pathToImage); It asks Puppeteer, which controls headless Chrome, to capture the page rather than only the visible viewport. It does not guarantee that every arbitrarily tall page will fit into one image: the official API references do not specify a universal maximum height.
Capture the full page with Browsershot
Browsershot converts webpages to images or PDFs through Puppeteer controlling headless Google Chrome. The documented full-page image call is:

use SpatieBrowsershotBrowsershot;
Browsershot::url('https://example.com')
->fullPage()
->save($pathToImage);
Replace the URL with the page to capture and set $pathToImage to the destination path appropriate for your application. Browsershot documents PNG as the default image type. The fullPage() option requests a capture of the full page, not just the current viewport.

Make sure the page is ready before capture
A full-page capture can still miss content if the page has not finished rendering it. Images may load lazily, scripts may insert content later, and some sites load additional sections only after scrolling. Choose a wait condition based on the content that must appear in the image. Browsershot documents waits for lazy-loaded resources, selectors, and JavaScript functions; Puppeteer’s screenshot guide demonstrates navigating with a wait condition before taking a screenshot.
- Wait for a specific selector when a known element marks the content you need.
- Wait for a JavaScript condition when the page exposes a meaningful state that indicates rendering is complete.
- Wait for lazy resources when images or other assets load as the page is scrolled.
- Use navigation waits thoughtfully. A navigation event alone may not mean application-rendered content is ready.
A fixed delay can be useful for a page with a known timing requirement, but elapsed time by itself does not prove that the required content has loaded. Prefer a condition tied to the page’s actual state.

- 2K 30FPS & 1080p 60FPS HDMI Capture Card: The 4K@30Hz input and 2K@30Hz output resolutions offer dual benefits. The high input resolution preserves original video quality for post-production editing, while the 2K output provides an optimal balance between clarity and compatibility. At the same time, this HDMI to USB-C capture card is also backward compatible with 1080p 60FPS, to fulfill a variety of daily needs. Note: Ensure your HDMI source device and the capture device support 2K resolution
- Low Latency 5 Gbps High Data Transfer Speed: With high-speed USB 3.0 technology for optimal performance and low delay, you can easily stream video from the Switch/Switch 2/PS4/PS5 to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, OBS, Potplayer, and VLC on a computer. It's also backward compatible with USB 2.0. Note: This capture card for streaming only supports HDMI input sources, as well as iPadOS devices need to be updated to 17 or higher to use it
- USB A and USB C ports: Featuring both USB-A and USB-C interfaces, this streaming capture card ensures broad compatibility with modern devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, desktops, and Quest 3. Perfect for multi-scenario streaming—whether you're broadcasting camera footage, mobile gaming, or PC live streams. Note: This capture card only supports unidirectional signal flow—HDMI input to USB output
- Universal Compatibility: This Driver-Free HDMI capture card for streaming supports Windows 11/10/8.1/7, MacOS, Linux, and phones/tablets. This capture card effortlessly livestreams gameplay from Switch, Switch 2, PS4/PS4 Pro/PS5 (Disable HDCP mode), Xbox Series X, and Meta Quest 3/2 directly to your iPad, laptop, or PC. Fully support OBS Studio, XSplit, PotPlayer, QuickTime Player, and more for streaming, recording, editing, and high-res video transfer. Note: iPadOS 17 or later is required for USB-C iPad compatibility. Switch / Xbox / PS5/ PS4 work fine when HDCP is turned off
- Durable USB Capture Card: The aluminum alloy casing easily dissipates heat and is lightweight while effectively shielding against EMI, ensuring stable signal transmission. The built-in cable features 26AWG (2C) + 30AWG (1P) tinned copper conductors, ensuring excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance, enhancing durability, and reducing signal loss
The official references do not publish a universal safe maximum height for a single full-page screenshot or guarantee that every extremely tall page will succeed in every browser and runtime environment. Success can depend on the page and the environment; do not treat an undocumented height as a supported limit. The sources likewise provide no formula for predicting memory use or output file size from page height.
If one full-page capture fails or produces an incomplete result, a practical fallback is to capture bounded sections. This is an implementation strategy, not a documented built-in segmentation feature or a guaranteed fix. Sections need careful handling: sticky headers can appear differently as the page moves, content can change between captures, and overlaps must be managed if the sections are to be joined into one image. Validate the resulting image against the live page.

Choose capture scope, format, and pixel density
Whole page, clipped area, or one element
Use fullPage() when the intended result is the whole document. If only part of the page is needed, Browsershot also documents clipping to a region and capturing a selected element. A smaller target can avoid making an unnecessarily tall image, but it is a different capture scope.

PNG or JPEG
PNG is Browsershot’s documented default. JPEG is available with a quality setting. Puppeteer’s screenshot options specify that quality applies to JPEG and does not apply to PNG. Choose according to the fidelity and file-size needs of the output; the cited documentation does not give a quantitative size estimate for extremely tall images.
Device scale factor
Browsershot documents device scale factors of 2 or 3 for higher-density output. Select the scale based on the pixel density you need rather than assuming a higher value is always better for a very long image. The documentation does not provide a memory or file-size formula for these combinations.

Other relevant screenshot options
Puppeteer’s screenshot options include path, type, clip, fullPage, and captureBeyondViewport. The path sets an output location when used directly with Puppeteer; type selects an image type, and clip describes a capture region. Browsershot provides its own documented methods for common image workflows, so use the interface belonging to the library or API you are calling.

- Only the visible screen is captured: check that the capture uses Browsershot’s
fullPage()method rather than a viewport-only capture. - Images or lower-page content are missing: the page may load them lazily or after application scripts run. Add an appropriate lazy-resource, selector, or JavaScript-condition wait before capturing.
- The capture is blank or incomplete: verify the page’s readiness condition against the actual content needed; a fixed delay may end before rendering is complete.
- A very tall capture fails: the official sources do not establish a universal maximum height, so there is no documented threshold to apply as a guaranteed fix. Try a smaller scope or carefully managed bounded sections, then check for sticky elements and changes in page state.
- The image is larger or less suitable than expected: review the capture scope, image type, JPEG quality where applicable, and device scale factor. The references do not provide a quantitative prediction for extreme-page output size.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns an image or PDF, without setting up Browsershot and headless Chrome for the capture:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot"
-d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY
--data-urlencode url=https://example.com
-o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Before capture, ScreenshotNeo accepts consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response reports page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides screenshot and PDF tools for AI agents. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
